The door looks like any regular dressing room door except for the lack of a nametag anywhere to it. He lifts his hand, ready to knock, when somebody inside calls him in. So he opens the door and is met with…

A sight for sore eyes.

Sure the guy is dressed in nothing really spectacular, just some regular clothes that do nothing to hide the man’s athletic build. His hair is messy, and he has glasses on. It’s just the way he is holding those ribbons of blue silk in his hands that make Victor’s mouth go dry.

There is no doubt this man knows exactly what to do with them, and Victor feels a shiver of anticipation run down his spine.

That is when their eyes meet for the first time. Wow.

Victor wordlessly sits down on the sofa Yuuri points him to, and gladly accepts the cup of tea he is offered. There’s a slight blush on Yuuri’s cheeks as if he too is nervous, which makes Victor feel a bit more at ease.

“Well I am glad you approve of my looks.” Yuuri mumbles looking slightly put off, his eyebrows go up when Victor slowly shakes his head no.

“Not your looks. Your presence.” Victor smiles. “I have no doubt you can captivate an audience with just one look if you want to.”

Top 8 Tips for Feeling Okay in Your Decision to Drop a Project

for the writer whose project is hurting their mental health

Get some tea, hot cocoa, coffee, whatever your feel-good drink is. Take a sip, then dump it all over a printout of your project. Your project is now ready to die happy.

Write down your favorite part of the project, or what inspired you to start it, and save that. The rest of the project? Eh. I think you should always save your work, but put it in a reject folder.

Tell your project just what it’s done to you. Sit down in a quiet room and swear at it. Tell it what it’s done to you. Make it apologize.

Consider: you are a god. You have created this story from nothing, and you can destroy it just as easily. Compared to you, it is inconsequential.

Ask yourself why you write. If it has anything to do with the fact that you enjoy it, and you’re not slogging through a 100-page Master’s thesis, hold it to the enjoyment standard. If it’s causing the exact opposite of enjoyment, it is not serving its purpose and it’s time to let it go.

Reread the previous point. Reread it again until you understand it at the core of your being. If you write because you love to write, and you are not loving this project, stop writing it.

Make yourself some more of whatever your feel-good drink is and actually drink this one. Preferably in a hot bath filled with bubbly bubbles.

Always, always, always remember that it is okay to drop a project that is making you feel bad and we’ve all done it.

hey all!

sign-ups begin really soon! i wanted to remind you all of a few changes happening this year!

first of all, this blog is now in jst, which is utc+9. this can be found on the schedule page. this is different from last year when things were in cst. admin moved to japan xD

sign-ups for every position are much shorter this year than they have been in the past. instead of a full month, sign-ups are only open for one week!

the bang is shorter in general than last year, so please be prepared for that.

i will be running two bangs simultaneously in two different fandoms, and this time around i will not be participating in the yoibb. please help me out by being on time and keeping track of your own deadlines!

Well, take a page out of this marvelous book, because I swear I’ve never been so happy to receive kudos as waking up to multiple people having done this on multiple chapters on a story I just posted.

Things that Tumblr missed in the two weeks my blog was down:

Scorpia from She-ra Princesses of Power is now my fictional wife and Bow is my fictional son

Also my kid had the “oh my god I’m gay” moment for the first time when they saw Catra in a suit. Like it was innocent but also clearly “oh. Now I know I’m not straight”. They actually said that outloud

all they’ve talked about since then is how much they love Catra and how much they want to hug her

Illyas James / Diem here. Writing has always been my passion, my mode of life, and I would not know what else to do actually. I started writing fanfiction before I even knew what that was. Thank you Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theater, and Tall Tales and Legends, together with my love for fairy tales I grew in love with the other way of telling a story. To this day I like to tell my stories as a fairy tale, no matter how grim I love the Happy ever after and do everything to get there. For favorite pairings, I love the happy ones. The ones that look as if they will stand through it all. It is what got me hooked on Yuri!!! on Ice, the firm believe they can overcome it all.

My birthday is this coming Friday December 7th.

I had made all these plans but with Tumblr going nuclear I’m gonna do something else.

Sure darling. I think I might have seen a post about this some days ago.

Try to file a complaint with Tumblr. It might be that a pornbot hacked one of your posts. When that get reblogged tumblr sometimes ends up deleting the original poster and not the bot.

Normally I don’t like bringing this up, but: Tumblr is making it increasingly difficult for writers and artists to get their posts to show up in tags and searches, meaning that our fics and art are being exposed to fewer people.

Yes, it’s still possible to get posts to show up, but in the case of the search function, it’s only if they have no links - not even links to other Tumblr posts. For people like me who include links to other chapters in my fic so readers can get caught up on chapters they might miss, this is a huge problem. I basically have no choice but to include those links, or else I would make things massively inconvenient for my readers.

So why am I telling everyone this? Because this means reblogs are becoming more and more important to creators. With posts so difficult to find in searches and tags, reblogs are one of the few other ways for people to find new artists or writers.

You’re under no obligation to reblog my stuff, of course, but I want to put it out there why reblogs are so important to those of us who write/draw/create content.

(Also: While I’ve personally verified the stuff that’s going on with searches, I have no clue what’s going on with tags. Some of my stuff is showing up there, some isn’t, seemingly with little correlation to the links included. So tags might not be quite as strict, but they do seem to be less consistent.)
