“ A 90’s Love Story “ I remember I used to wait for you in front of the cinema hall. Watching you returning home after the class was the highlight of my day. But I could never gather the courage to tell you how I felt, that’s when I decided to write you the letter. On that day when I saw you coming, my heart started pounding and as I took out the blue envelope, it started pouring. The world stopped around me within seconds and in front of you I froze; not realising that the letter was getting drenched too. You walked towards me and took the letter away from my hand. Glanced at the soaking envelope and then with those deep seated eyes you looked at me and smiled - Summer of 93’ Featuring @siam.ahmed (at Balaka Cinema Hall) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChFNhcrvzhY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“Discover Dacca” is an illustration created in the likeness of the vintage travel posters of the 1950’s commissioned by airline companies and tourism boards all across the globe. DhakaYeah has taken the creative liberty to depict an imaginary river cruise on the Buriganga riverfront overlooking the Ahsan Manjil in way it has never been imagined before in this part of world. Perhaps this can be the reality one day, tourists flocking from all parts of the world to experience the rich, untouched and unadulterated history and nature of this ancient land. “Crafts of Bangladesh” is an interactive illustrated map commissioned by @brac.aarong for Aarong’s ecommerce site, that lets a consumer discover where many of their product categories originate from. Working with Aarong has been an extremely rewarding experience since DhakaYeah has always tried to work on projects that tell the tale of the land and it’s people in a unique way. Aarong has played a very crucial role in protecting and promoting traditional crafts of Bangladesh from the very beginning. The institution’s mission is to provide sustainable livelihoods for poor rural communities of Bangladesh, especially women with a consistent focus on creating products that can proudly represent the ancient local crafts of the land to an international audience. Staying faithful to its original mission for more than four decades, Aarong supports the lives and livelihoods of some sixty-five thousand rural artisans and handicraft producers. #bangladesh #dhaka #dhakayeah #aarong (at Bangladesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSzQDLgFhNj/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Royal Bengal Tiger 🐅 is a rather apt emblem for us Bangladeshis. Just like the majestic king of the jungle, we are a hardy bunch! No matter what life throws our way, we know how to be doggedly determined and make our way through to the other side. We are resilient - come rain or shine, we hold our heads high through it all. It is indeed a testament of our indomitable spirit that a country which was once termed a ‘basket case’ is now a model for continuous and sustained development. And this is why, we thought nothing would be more fitting than an illustration of the Royal Bengal Tiger in its element - ready to leap forward and face head on whatever that lies beyond. On the momentous occasion of the Golden Jubilee of independence, it has been a pleasure and honour to collaborate with Standard Chartered Bank on this project to create a limited edition commemorative platinum credit card. Would like to thank SCB for walking the less beaten path and trusting a young-ish digital illustration platform like DhakaYeah with a project of such significance. Hope this will shine a much needed light on the digital illustration industry of Bangladesh and will increase the scope of collaboration between established brands and illustrators. 🇧🇩 To know more about getting hold of this card, please visit the link https://av.sc.com/bd/edm/commemorative-card-launch/ (at Bangladesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ6KVXdsRP7/?utm_medium=tumblr

A good frame can always capture the essence of the artwork and be a great addition to your space. Frames are often not given much priority and sometimes seen as a mere protective covering for an artwork but in reality it’s a lot more. A frame that compliments the artwork it surrounds can truly make the artwork stand out and will always be successful in directing a viewer towards the piece. Thanks to @parisianbangali for sharing this beautiful frame with Dhakayeah! (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/COQKBufj0YY/?igshid=utzs381k7q0f

“This struggle… is now our struggle for freedom. This struggle… is now our struggle for independence! JOY BANGLA!!” As these words thundered out of the loudspeakers, we can only imagine what every Bengali in attendance must have felt. This was the moment when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in his unmatched political and patriotic astuteness, declared what everyone knew to be true in their hearts - the gloves were off and there was no going back. We as a nation were at our Rubicon - and crossing was imminent. 50 years later, on the momentous occasion of the Golden Jubilee of our independence, we look back with great respect towards our heroes without whom we wouldn’t have been here today. And on that note, we would like to take this opportunity to announce a project that is very close to our hearts. On the 50th anniversary of our independence, DhakaYeah is proud to announce the imminent publication of an illustrated book on our great war for freedom. We are thankful to you for always being the wind in our sails, and we are confident that this book will bring to the forefront tales of our plight for freedom in a fresh new light. Much love, respect and stay tuned! And please share if you have any ideas to make the project a better one 😊 “Land of Golden Bengal” is an original illustration by DhakaYeah (at Bangladesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/CM4oLKyFohe/?igshid=1mehnio1xed5x
