Recently I received this Ask requesting donations:
I checked the blog and found this Pinned Post:
After searching the Ask and Pinned Post I discovered it was a scam.
In short:
All the posts including the Pinned Post were made on the same day
Fundraiser Link doesn’t use a proper Crowdfunding site
The same Ask was copy pasted under numerous different blog names
When clarification about the scam tactics used above was requested the blog was deleted
This is a link to the post with the proper evidence.
I searched and found the following blogs using an identical ask:

How to Spot a Scam
Red Flags:
The blog is fairly recent
There’s only a few posts on the Tumblr
The reblogs mostly happened in one day, often the day the fundraiser is posted, after there are never any new post
The oldest post is only a few days or weeks old
Searching the Ask and / or Pinned Post yields results of the same Ask or Pinned Post across multiple blogs with varying names
Responses to the Ask warn of a scam
Notes of the Pinned Post warn of a scam
The Pinned Post has some replies blocked
The Pinned Post doesn’t use a Crowdfunding platform such as GoFundMe which have protections for scams
Reverse image searching the blog icon reveals the image was stolen
Asking for proof or clarification results in blocking or blog deletion
Not every scammer will meet all the criteria but the biggest Red Flags are searching the Ask or Pinned Post and getting the same Ask or Pinned Post across multiple blogs with varying names and requesting for proof or clarification only to get blocked or have the blog get deleted.
If some of the Red flags are present but you aren’t certain it’s advised that you don’t reblog the donation post or don’t donate money and if you wish you can simply block the blog.
However if you are certain the blog is a scam blog then it is recommended that you report it to reduce its spread, if you reblogged the Pinned Post it is suggested that you delete it which may happen automatically if the blog gets deleted by Tumblr Staff, alternatively you can edit your response to warn others of the scam, additionally it would be beneficial if you warned others who reblogged post or responded to the scammer, finally it's advised that reblog this post and / or the reference posts below to inform others of How to Spot a Scam.
