something about laporte just never sat right with me deep in my soul. I’ll never forget how he swanned in off the back of being nothing but french and got john benched for three seasons on the bounce. goodness always prevails over evil and the fact that our john’s now practically got an on-pitch position named after him and in the footballing history books - meanwhile laporte’s off to saudi arabia - is another thing that makes me think I was always right about everything to do with john ever
