He was the one who sacrificed himself for Dean and things that were important to Dean over and over again! He was the one who watched silly Westerns with Dean and indulged Dean's interests, the one who took care of Dean and healed him, who made sure Dean knew he was worth something and that the world was a better place with him in it! So yeah, Castiel was Dean Winchester's lover. But I agree, they should have fucked on screen too.
