the vampire strode into the dimly lit room, his golden eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. the word was passed along nomads to the head of the olympic coven. likewise, carlisle had alerted edward to the presence of another vampire in the area and as the oldest son, he'd kept his guard up. after all, an unknown vampire in their permanent area of residency often meant trouble, but he hadn't been prepared for what he would find there. in all truth he wasn't even sure what to make of it. she did not look threatening, or particularly blood-thirsty. if anything he could sense the discomfort from existing in her own skin, the disgust towards the monster she'd become. such was a feeling he knew all too well.   “ hey, are you alright? ”

the unmistakable sense of dread and insatiable hunger that comes from blood-thirst is thick in the air, even if only figuratively. edward cannot escape it, it's all over the house. he knows it's not himself, for his control over his need for blood may as well be his strongest suit at the time. his eyes are still very much a bright shade of gold as well and it's proof the burning thirst he can pick up is not in his own throat, but experienced second hand from someone else's mind. he comes downstairs to find one of his adoptive brothers. the light blond of his hair and chiselled cheekbones and jaw make the adoption of rosalie's last name fitting, jasper could truly be her twin. although, not so secretly, edward liked jasper better than rosalie. anyhow he tries his best to stay within the confines of his own mind and instead asks directly,  “ jasper? you seem... restless. i could hear you from upstairs. should we go out to look for some mountain lions?”

edward's fingertips danced along the piano keys, growing in intensity as the melody rose to a crescendo. it was common place for his family to walk by and go about their day as he immersed himself in bringing the music in his head to life for others to hear. this was the easiest time he had blocking out other people's thoughts. not all of them though — some of his siblings had louder thoughts than others. edward went on trying to ignore such psychic background noise but to no avail. the more concentration and coordination the music required of him the harder to became to do so and ultimately the sound of the piano comes to an abrupt end. edward's fingers coming to a standstill, resting on the keys as the echo of the music dissipates without fulfillment.  “ — emmett! ”  he grumbles in frustration.  “ stop thinking about tiktok songs. ” 

i am dealing with the passing of my cat and i'm admittedly not doing great. i won't spam you with the details and my ramblings because i've already burdened friends enough with my grief. but it's only fair i leave a heads up here that my activity level will likely fluctuate even more. i'm not saying i'll disappear, because writing riza is big source of comfort and creative outlet for me and i'm sure there will be moments when i need the distraction. but it's also very possible i'll disappear for a bit. i don't know what i'll feel like, i only know i'm hurting a lot right now. i don't want people thinking i abandoned this blog if i go quiet on top of that. thank you all for bearing with me.
