In response to a post about how it's ok to ignore canon and do your own thing rather than harassing creators (I believe this ties in to some ongoing drama in a fandom I'm not in but idk):

This is actually a bad thing and "fans" who do this aren't actually fans. The prevalence of this mentality is why fandom sucks now, and we need to gatekeep these people with extreme prejudice.

nobody is saying trans women don't have it uniquely rough in a world that idolizes womanhood, demonizes manhood and fights aggressively against any transition between. we're just saying that there's no version of transness that doesn't have it rough to some extent due to the way our society is, and acting like there is Is Bad Actually. trans women might be the subset of trans person who experiences the most physical violence, and the most forward pushback, but trans men are the subset that experiences the most dismissal, erasure, and infantalization, and BOTH of us do in fact experience an intersection of transness and misogyny. transfems by the nature of transitioning into womanhood, and transmascs by the nature of transitioning out of it. our experiences are starkly different. but they both fucking suck, and we should be working together and not doing this shit. acting like we can't experience misogyny for being trans (and that this makes us bad somehow?) is really ridiculous
