Tea time meme!

Got tagged in this and took way too long to do it. I imagine Dante’s tea is fairly simple, usually black with a little lemon, a cube or two of sugar. Something with a strong flavour along the lines of a Russian Caravan blend. The cup would be mostly traditional, though he’d always favour one with some of his favourite colours, and a sweet crunchy side snack is a must.

Y’shtola has Stone IV, Foul, Blizzard IV, Aero, Water, and Thunder spells, and is called a Sorceress.

Alphinaud is an Academician, so he gets to have Scholar spells while keeping his carbuncle. Minfillia was able to cast spells as a Rogue. Urianger has a Death spell as an Astrologian.

Basically, don’t let your dreams be dreams. Have your character know whatever skills/spells you want, and if people call it lore breaking or Mary Sue tell them you don’t care. And that’s that.

The Next Step

“Better bloody work this time... running out of parts” Mumbled the black and blue haired Miqo'te, sat in the low light of a few flickering lamps and the last beams of a setting sun streaming through the window, just enough to keep his workbench illuminated for the final parts of his latest project.

At the back of the workspace, aside from the usual tools and parts strewn around, lay a small pile of failed prototypes, cracked blades, warped barrels, misaligned drums and faulty firing mechanisms.

“Seventh times the charm... I 'ope” Naturally he'd assumed he was mumbling to himself, until a cup of tea slid onto the side of the workbench, his gaze following the arms holding it to the reassuring smile of a green-eyed Lalafel.

“It'd better be, we've still got barrels full of this Ishgardian tea, so I doubt you'll be able to make a decent parts run up there for a while, unless you can convince your wife to change the schedule, of course.” Said Tatari with a smile that somehow just put Dante at ease, he returned the smile and nodded.

“Aye well with a bit of luck... I mean there's a few spare guns I could break down, but you'd think with the amount of those I'd made, an' the specs of that looted Garlean blade I got from the manufactory, that this'd be easy. 'Least the first two failures showed my why the Garlean blades are so long, counterweight the gun components.” He took a sip of the tea and returned to screwing a few loose components into the main body of the blade, helping it take it's final shape.

“Still if I can finally perfect my own Gunblade, well that'll beat carrying a gun and katana together, an' if that lets me protect Jade and the business better, it's worth the work.” He sounded genuinely hopeful, maybe this was the one.

“Well it'll be nice to see another project off that ever-growing list of yours, But I really must be heading home for the night, do try not to start any more fires.” Tari gave him a knowing look as she talked, and Dante rolled his eyes in response, waving her a goodbye as left him to his work.

“Oh aye, no fire yet, just a little... Hmm actually I should adjust...” Dante mumbled to himself as he worked quite regularly, this was no different, and it carried on into the late or indeed early hours of the morning, calibrating this, realigning that, making sure everything was just so before finally setting down his tools and running his hand along the blade like he was befriending a new animal, unable to suppress a wide fang-bearing grin.

“Yeeeeessssss, this should do it, you're the one aren't you? Let's find out.”

The birds around Merrydown Logistics were less than their usual enthusiastic selves as dawn broke over the Lavender Beds, and one might imagine the neighbours weren't awfully pleased either as the suns earliest light was met with a cacophony of varied shots and the thuds of steel cutting into wood.

The Gunblade was indeed a success, undoubtedly the first in it's line, but as time drew on and sleep-deprived Miqo'te worked his way through the small collection of specialised ammunition made just for these weapons, not to mention one previously perfectly good target dummy. Dante flopped down on the bench, panting, sweating, half covered in oil and soot, but satisfied, vindicated even.

“Well...” He said, talking to nobody but the Gunblade itself. “You bloody well work, don't you. 'least you do in a trial, we'll 'ave to head out on the next Caravan with Gariovalt an' Erlenic, see if we can't show you off a bit an' get us a proper combat trial... Aye, that'll be the next step.”
