the first thing you learn about Eragon - that he had heard all the horrific stories about the mountains that locals have constant terror of and he was still going there since he was 15yo - is all you really need to know about him

Being super dramatic is a family trait shared between Eragon, Murtagh, and Roran, but in different ways. Eragon is especially dramatic when he's making decisions, but not always in the way he talks about it. Particularly later in the series he can be quite frank and even about bat shit choices, for example, when discussing that he's decided to leave Alagaesia for the rest of his indefinite life because he had his fortune told once. On the other hand, Murtagh is usually quite practical with his actual decision making, but he does love to make a dramatic spectacle. Like the way he takes Zar'roc from Eragon as a way to reveal that they're brothers, he's so extra.

And then there's fucking Roran who trumps both of them by being infinitely more dramatic in both way. The theatrics are constantly off the charts with this man. Completely unhinged with zero chill, he always takes the most over the top option available in every situation and makes such a scene of it. His fucking speech to convince the villagers to leave Carvahall, the way he insists on going through the boar's eye, his ploy to scare the empire away from their camp at Aroughs solely with feigned overconfidence. This man contemplates every possible way to murder Nasuada's guards while waiting to see her and believes they must be thinking the same about him, like no babe, it's just you, no one else is this melodramatic and feral

top 5 galbatorix moments

number 5 coming out of his mothers womb and being born and being named galbatorix. and then going about life interacting with the world and nobody suspecting for the first 2 or 3 decades of his life that he might be evil with a name like "galbatorix"

number 4 when he allegedly kicked vrael in the nuts before decapitating him. this one is lower because it couldve been embellishment/propaganda on broms part but idk. seems like something he'd do

number 3 writing straight-up fanfiction for the two twenty-somethings that hes torturing in order to trick one of them to become his vassal

number 2 when he, in the middle of torturing the aforementioned twenty-something year old, decided to host a philosophical/political debate with her and claim the varden was evil for starting a war that would kill assumedly hundreds or thousands of people, and when she rebutted him by pointing out (rightfully) that he could end the war at literally any moment with minimal effort on his part, he does not respond and changes the subject back to torturing her

number 1 when he has eragon and murtagh fight and starts waxing poetic about how fitting and ironic it is that the two sons of morzan are fighting and how smart and brilliant he is, and eragon corrects him saying hes brom's son, not morzan's, and he responds with "well, yeah. Duh. pfft. obviously. i knew that." (he did not know that)
