WHERE IT ALL BEGAN! its quite long.
I took Ballet classes when I was at a real young age; somewhere around 3/5 hahaha. I did end of year concerts with my dance friends to show off to our families of what we have been doing at dance lessons the whole year. I remember wearing hot pink tutus and hot pink leotards, wearing A LOT of makeup that did not seem normal for a girl that age to be doing, but I guess it's a part of the performing life. I had quite ballet and changed my genre of dance. I moved into Jazz at a different dance school, I was around 8 years old when I started doing it. I did one end of year performance. We were dressed up in navy costumes and was quite fun. Then I had quit again because schedules were getting to tight for my extra curricular activities, and I felt like there was too much pressure building on top of me at such a young age. But to be completely honest I wish I still took dance classes, I miss dance.  Hip Hop,  I did not needed classes for that (not being cocky at all)  because I watched a class to see what they had taught but it was real ‘basic’ and that I needed something more advanced, but I decided to dance on my own as in stop with all the lessons and just dance for a passion. Dance with the freedom of my own movement. My primary school had a talent show called “St Mary’s Idol” in 2005 and guess what!, me a small 5 year old Filipino girl came 1st! Her first year in primary school. There was older kids who entered and dayuum did I feel proud that my cuteness had shine through 😅 oh my.  In 2013 my first year at Marist College, year 9. I joined a school project dance competition called “Stage Challenge” where our school verse other schools in our region through performance, telling a story through each genre such as Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical and Hiphop and Drama. This school project has helped me become someone at Marist College. A new girl, turned into someone everyone knew as a dancer. Receiving complements of my skill level in dance has absolutely changed me. That day at Stage Challenge allowed me to dance my little heart out, through the dance circles, free-styling like never before and meeting other great dancers.  2015, We entered again. This time even though I am just a 15 year old girl, the leaders who I have danced with before have truly made me feel like I was a part of their team. They gave me the chance to be open with ideas of choreography, transitions, and other ideas that I had in mind and agreed to it if they liked it. To see some of my ideas up on that stage has clearly made me feel that I can do anything! I am v-proud of where I am today. In the same year I helped some friends out for a dance set for their Pageant, and we were practicing at the venue doing some rehearsals before the big day! The owner of the place well I think he was, but any who, he was some Asian guy watching us perform, mucking around with some freestylin’ and as I walked to go to backstage he said to me “You are a really good dancer, this is truly God’s blessing and gift to you. You are the best dancer.” And from that day I couldn't stop smiling, and could not believe that he said that to me. A stranger. Randomly saying that to me. Woaaaaah! Feeling motivated!  Growing up, I think I’ve gone a long way from where I started. From dancing at parties with my best friend, Justine who I have met when I was 5 years old. After the talent show. She bullied me when we saw each other mostly every day, but we ended up being close and that evolved into being best friends. I do not know if I got Justine into dancing but we made choreography at such a young age to songs like “tik tok” by ke$ha, famous Filipino songs like “ocho ocho” by Bayani Agbayani. We were the little dancers that they all needed at parties, to entertain the crowd.  Justine and I are now in a crew named “ENVISION” which was created by us two and another girl named Syrai who also shares the same passion as us. Being in “ENVISION” has helped us score opportunities to perform as front acts at concerts, and a part of entertaining our families at parties. We are basically an essential at parties y’know HAHAHAHA!  This journey will surely continue through photos on this blog.
