Some bears I recently finished. The two Walnut bears are a typical little design that's my go-to and and big Eastern Red Cedar bear is an attempt at trying a pose more challenging. Trying new things and seeing what does and doesn't work for my "style". I'm not sure I've been carving long enough to say I have a style, but you get the idea.
The two walnut bears are for sale, 40 USD each, free shipping in the US.
If you want a bear in a different species of wood, I have Hackberry, Eastern Red Cedar, Cherry and of course more Walnut available. Just send me a dm if you're interested.

Just a sketch..
I've been struggling to finish a portrait of a Great War era Indian soldier for several months now; I kinda wanted it to be my first illustration to post this in a while (since I haven't done that in about a year), but a sketch is better than nothing. I will try to finish that portrait, though. Anyways, this is a little head sketch of a a character I'm still trying to figure out the look of. Done in about an hour and a half.

The species of wood in order of appearance: Hackberry, Eastern Red Cedar, Cherry and Walnut. For the little bears, the first two are walnut and the rest are basswood.
With the exception of the two little walnut bears, these are all for sale. 40 USD for the big bears, and 15 USD for the small ones; free shipping within the US, outside of the US is an additional 15 bucks (I'm sorry 😬)
I can attach a keychain to the little ones, if you want!
If you'd like to support me, I always appreciate a few bucks here and there:

Bear...
Eastern Red Cedar coated with linseed oil
If you're interested in scooping up this bear, she is available for $125 USD, free shipping to continental US; send me message to let me know :3
Also, I should say.....as long as the US Postal Service is capable, I do ship overseas, I just don't exactly advertise that because I'm not sure anyone wants to pay 20-30 bucks extra for shipping 😐..

Experiments...
Eastern Red Cedar Coated in Linseed Oil
I tried making a few bears in slightly newer poses and giving their coats texture, so as to look like fur... I'm sure the more I do it, the more convincing it'll be lol
These are available for $110 USD each, free shipping to the continental US.
If anyone wants to toss a few bucks my way to feed my bear making habit ( or me), it would be appreciated :'3

Your bears are so amazing! They have so much character and it gives them so much life and movement in a sculpture. The material shines through and feels so connected to the forest. I love your art so much.
Thank you so much 🥺🥺🥺 I like that you say that they feel connected to the forest, because I actually don't like covering up the wood grain! Linseed oil has been a god send because it makes the wood pop so much 😭

Long Fella
Spalted Maple Coated with Linseed Oil
I have one more block of this maple that I still need to work with, but I think after that, I'm gonna try working more with harder woods. The only hard woods I've worked with so far are cherry and walnut and I really like how those two clean up!
Available for 150$ USD (free shipping to continental US).

Three Little Bears..
Basswood, (possibly) maple and walnut. Each coated with linseed oil.
Each bear is going to a different home! Thanks to the folks who adopted these beasts, you've helped me tremendously 😭
I can always, always, always use a few extra bucks for living and bear making expenses, so if you can and you wanna help me produce more bears, I would appreciate it a whole lot.

End of Great War Era German Askari
Painted in Photoshop
I typically shy away from illustrating soldiers in a way that obscures their uniform; it's both tedious and fun getting the little details right. But after doing a bunch of research, I came across some photos of Askaris wearing very tattered uniforms and some with their tarbushes decorated. I thought that would be fun to try and depict, so here's what I came up with.
It's been a few years since I've posted any art, let alone my Great War illustrations and portraits, so it feels very good to have completed this and to share it with y'all :3
