Fluffbruary #8: shower | blessed | layer

The rain has been going for some time now but they didn't care.
Rittenhouse is gone. For good this time.
And the first thing they decided to do was climb up the ladder leading out of the bunker that served as their sanctuary for many years. The sky was heavy with rain clouds, the meager trees surrounding them silent save for the falling rain. Any living creature there likely gone and sought shelter; it was only the two of them.
Nothing could be more beautiful.
As one, they tilted their faces towards the gentle shower, soaking in the reality of the here and now.
Yep, I'm still doing @fluffbruary. I've been fighting against this creative block for some time now, and I'll do what I i can to go through the prompts.

I couldn't make the "potato" prompt work in this scenario. Someone had suggested John prep/peel potatoes, but that'll be tricky in trying to tell a story with just a picture. 😹 So I went a simpler route.

Fluffbruary #6: tie | embarrassment | dessert
So, I know it's March, but I decided I'll continue with the prompts, anyway.
Harold and Grace, Before. (Also on AO3)
(Ramble + traditional version under the cut)
It was a struggle to be productive creatively, because I haven't been in a good mental/emotional space lately. But I wanna keep doing these prompts.
I used a reference for this, and I love the poses, but I couldn't seem to execute it properly. I even colored it with watercolor, despite knowing the paper doesn't take a lot of layers of colors very well.
Despite the above's many flaws, and it was rushed, I like it better because I feel more "connected" to it (i.e., took a brush with watercolor paint to paper, I could see the pigment transfer to the paper, etc.). I dunno. I still need to get the hang of digital drawing even after all these years.

🥶 Cold
The morning snow was turning into a blizzard, but John didn’t care. His fingers were already frozen from circling her name on the headstone. A year had passed since he hadn’t saved Jessica.
Someone approached: his new, cold-hearted employer, no doubt.
“Go away, Finch. No numbers today.”
“No numbers, Mr. Reese. I realize the date.”
“Then why are you here?”
“I passed a diner two blocks back.”
“Then go and get yourself something warm to eat. I’m not leaving her. Not today.”
“I had them fill this flask with hot coffee.”
Finch touched his arm briefly, and then walked away.
