Shirley Manson is my most important musical inspiration. The very first time I heard “Queer” everything changed for me, and since then her music and her strength have touched and encouraged me. This blog certainly would not exist and I would not be the same person I am without her.
Blaise Dahl is a singer, songwriter and producer from New York City who has just revealed a cover of the time-altering and indelible “Special”, and it’s heartening that she feels much the same way:
“I’m a huge fan of Garbage and I consider Shirley Manson one of my great inspirations on so many levels. I love her music, naturally, but also her style, her candidness, her warm, open relationship with her fans, and her general badass attitude. She’s not afraid to voice her opinions.”
Ms. Dahl’s band Dahl Haus is currently at work on their debut album, one she’s making as she studies Music Production at Berklee Online. You can stream her demos and projects on her Soundcloud page. She got an “A” for this one, and I agree.
