Finished Chapter 13 of Arknights, it and Chapter 12 (but 13 more so) are definitely where Victoria Arc really picks up.
Except for the Sanguinarch, he ended up just being really boring. and didn't even really have an ideology or beliefs or anything. And also you'd want a guy who is "The King of Vampires, Lord of the Crimson Court" to be able to chew the scenery a little, at least, ham it up some, but no.
Manfred, Damazti Cluster, Ulsulah, Lettou, even 'Shovel' who appeared for all of two story sections, were more interesting than him and carried with them something more compelling.
Hmm, and 18-22 tried to pull in a lot of things right at the end, made me realize that yeah, this was a very crowded Chapter.

ok, yes. gōnghé, which is…an abbreviation for “industrial cooperative”? Like it was just a term for a worker-run organization? A specific U.S. marine stationed in China interpreted it as a motivational slogan about teamwork, and as a commander he got his whole battalion using it, and other U.S. marines found those guys so exhausting that it migrated into English slang with the meaning “overly enthusiastic”.
That’s…wild. What was I talking about?
