Trip took a moment before he looked up at T’Pol and smiled. “I’m fine. It’ll just take a little while to get used to.” In principle he was all for naming his daughter after his sister, but in practice it was a little different. Especially after discussing her with his parents.
“She’s enough to charm anyone.” He smiled down at his now-sleeping daughter. “She’s going to make our lives a whole lot harder, but I’m still glad we have her.”
“Alright,” T’Pol says, reaching down and squeezing his hand. “I sent the birth certificate Phlox made up to Vulcan yesterday, we’ll know if they’ll approve her to hold dual citizenship in a few days.” T’Pol sincerely doubts they will, she’s not particularly popular on Vulcan and Elizabeth’s existence is more then a little controversial. Earth had given her default citizenship for being born on their lunar colony.
“She will charm anyone.” T’Pol says, kneeling next to the chair to stroke Elizabeth’s fuzzy hair. “I don’t believe I’d have sought out having a child, but I do think it’s a good thing we have her. I do hope she gets healthy enough for us to take her to Earth or Vulcan, I don’t think a life on a ship is a life for a child.”
Phlox had offered some advice before they left sickbay. Trip had a nephew, so he knew a few things about babies and the rest he'd looked up. And half of that forgotten, because there was just too much of it. And none of it helped with the nervousness he felt at them suddenly being entirely responsible for this baby. At least she was currently asleep. “Your quarters or mine?” Trip asked T’Pol, as they headed down the corridor from sickbay with baby Elizabeth.
T’Pol still couldn’t quite get her head around the fact that she was now largely responsible for the child asleep in her arms. Elizabeth had her tiny fist curled around a bit of T’Pol’s dark blue uniform and seemed to be completely unimpressed by her first trip out of sickbay. “My quarters are closer but I’ve not made any preparations for a baby.” She admits, she hadn’t really expected for Elizabeth to be released at all, much less for it to happen this soon. “Have you prepared for her at all?”

((I totally wanted to do things here today to get ready for the big move over to the new blog. THen anxiety reminded me it existed. Now I’ve wasted an entire day going on an outing I didn’t need to go on and panicking over my final and also how i’m gonna fail at everything but okay cool this is awesome.))
#ooc#anxiety#today is one of those days#where i'm like painfully aware that my mental health is very not stable#and that i should probably just medicate#because therapy is helping to a degree#but honestly as soon as winter sets in i'll go down that#not showering not eating not leaving bed#rabbit hole again
