Gold Panda and Simian Mobile Disco’s Jas Shaw Release New Album: Listen
Gold Panda and Jas Shaw (of Simian Mobile Disco) have formed a new duo. Together, they are Selling. And on October 10, they released their debut album On Reflection. Listen to the record, and check out their music video for “Keeping Txme” (directed by Tilly Shiner), below. The physical edition of On Reflection is set to come out on December 14 via City Slang.
Gold Panda and Shaw made On Reflection in Shaw’s studio in Kent, England. Gold Panda commented in a press release, “It’s the most immediate and natural record I’ve ever made.” He added:
We didn’t make this for a label or something. Initially, it was just us mucking around. There was no plan to make an album. Originally I thought we were going to make a track here and there and stick them out on vinyl. But then, we had an album that sounded quite good and it was like “well if we have an album’s worth of stuff, maybe we should just release it.” It became a thing, I suppose.
But we’ll quit if it becomes a smash hit record.
Simian Mobile Disco shared their latest LP, Murmurations, earlier this year. Gold Panda’s last solo album, Good Luck and Do Your Best, arrived in 2016.

Game Of Thrones Power Rankings: Medieval ‘I Never’ And Cersei’s Superweapon
Alex Van Mecl for HBO
Boy, if you thought last week’s episode involved some questionable military tactics, this week’s episode must’ve really been a treat.
This episode went from feeling like slightly stilted, expository fan fiction (but funny) — turning “previously on” into a game of medieval “I never” was an interesting choice — to strong conflicts about how to recognize a tyrant, to an episode of Hitler’s superweapon, all while wiping their ass with basic physics. Now, you might say it’s silly to quibble about physics and realistic tactics in a show about dragons and zombies. And to that I say, if you can’t figure out a believable way to fill plot holes in a universe where shapeshifters, talking animals, and powerful wizards exist, what are you even doing?
Down: Daenerys
You know how sometimes you just want to Yaas Qween but the crossbros just won’t let you? Must we relitigate the 2016 primary again?
It’s weird, because this episode was so strong on the subject of trying to recognize a future tyrant and yet so weak on basic physics. I’m just saying, if a fleet of giant crossbow weapons just destroyed one of my dragons and my entire fleet, my first reaction probably wouldn’t be 1) fly my last remaining dragon directly at all of the crossbows while screaming, and 2) conveniently assembling the vanguard of my army well within crossbow range.
When Daenerys first started flying straight at the crossbows I thought, “Oh, maybe she’s drawing their fire, because crossbows are notoriously slow to reload. Or maybe she’s just wheeling around behind them because surely ships can’t turn as fast as dragons.”
But nope, turns out that was just Daenerys blowing off steam. To quote Hot Fuzz, haven’t you ever fired your gun up into the air and gone “aaaarrggh?”
Still, we have to give her a little credit. Things would be better in Westeros if only people would actually listen to Daenerys. Did she not tell Jon that he would ruin everything if he told anyone he was a Targaryen? So what does he do? Tells everyone that he’s a Targaryen, of course, and ruins everything. Way to go, dumbass.
So yes, Daenerys is about to go a little nuts, but can you really blame her?
TORMUND, slapping Jon on the back: What kind of person climbs on a dragon? A madman, or a fucking KING!
DAENERYS: [*angry Tracy Flick music plays in background*]
HBO
Maybe that’s the thing about absolute power. Maybe it only corrupts absolutely because the more power you have, the more dumb bullshit you have to deal with from idiots who drive you crazy. Oh, did you like it when the man rode the dragon? Did you not like it when I was doing it two seasons ago while freeing the slaves, you ungrateful proles!
VARYS: “Hmm, I don’t if we can trust her, she seems a bit nuts.”
Down: Ser Jorah
Helen Sloan for HBO
Dry ol’ Mormont, not even dying for his lady could get him a kiss on the lips. You hate to see it.
Down: Tormund Giant’s Bane
HBO
Poor Tormund, everyone’s favorite party animal, cockblocked by Jamie Lannister, the greatest fuckboi in all of Westeros. “Pardon me, m’lady, it seems I’m having trouble taking my shirt off.”
You hate to see it. Why don’t women ever go for nice guys instead of rich phonies? Then again, maybe Tormund saying “find the coward who shit in my pants” isn’t the greatest pick-up line.
“Women don’t like me here.” Yeah, well virgins don’t either. Know your audience, man.
Up: Euron Greyjoy
HBO
Euron’s collection of flowing scarves and devastating sneers are really helping tide me over while I wait for Young Pope to come back on. It looks like he’s really lucked into a good thing here thanks to Qyburn’s crossbows. And good on him for not snickering when Cersei brought up having a child. “Babe, babe, you’re an aging ex-dowager who’s had three children by her own brother and failed utterly at keeping any of them alive, and I’m considered a Tomcat even by the standards of the race of grumbly, bickering pirates who steal everything they own from which I come. But for sure, yeah, I think we’ll make great parents.”
My man looks like Pacey from Dawson’s Creek.
Way Up: Qyburn
Qyburn is quickly turning out to be the MVP of this whole conflict. You really have to give the guy credit for developing a giant crossbow thingy that can:
-fire massive, dragon-killing bolts thousands of yards. -be mounted on ships and fired at sea -reload almost instantly, despite the fact that the hand-held version are notoriously slow -snipe an animal no one has ever seen before out of the sky with deadly accuracy
…and are apparently light and portable enough to be carried up to the top of a castle’s walls via man and horsepower. Those things are a real game changer. Who knew a necromancer would be so damned good at engineering and organization? The Citadel really has egg on their face for kicking Qyburn out.
Down: Dorn
Hey, where the fuck are you guys? There are only a few episodes left, are you ever going to originate a substantive plot in this show? So far your most valuable contribution is as a place in a song where someone “slept with the Dornishman’s wife.” Cucked province.
Up: Cersei
HBO
I admit, I questioned the wisdom of shacking up with a weaselly, iron-born rebel, but between Euron and Qyburn, Cersei is fast beginning to seem like she has a real gift for staffing. Still, I have to question some of her choices.
For instance: When you take out your enemy’s fleet with giant crossbows and they wash up on the beach, you just let them run off home? Or did they just respawn back in their own lair like a video game? Either way, that seemed like an ideal time for host-crushing. Instead you… took a bed slave hostage? Interesting.
Also: if you dispatch a professional assassin to kill your dwarf brother because said brother is allegedly such a valuable asset to your enemy, and said brother just waddles right into arrow range unarmed, why wouldn’t you just kill said brother? Was it not elaborate enough? I feel like Cersei can’t stand to see her enemies die unless it involves wildfire, necromancy, superweapons, or elaborate schemes. Foolish Tyrion, invoking Cersei’s children. Clearly, it’s the drama that she loves.
Up: Bronn
HBO
Speaking of, how the hell did Bronn just show up alone in a room with the hand of the king and Jamie Lannister in the middle of their entire army? And shhh, quiet, I don’t want the explanation from you. That just seems like something it would’ve been cool to see, and/or have someone on the show question in any way. Instead, they were like “Oh cool, Bronn’s here! That makes sense, he’s definitely a character in this show.”
[*Tommy Wiseau voice*] Oh, hi, Bronn.
Up/Down: Tyrion and Varys
HBO
Thank God for these two, they’re the only ones keeping this show from going completely off the rails (or at least, the ones keeping it semi-watchable even as it leaves the rails far, far behind). It’s nice to watch them discover that perhaps the best person to lead Westeros is the person who’s least interested in leading Westeros. The same rules apply to taking kids on a camping trip.
Still, I have to question Tyrion’s strategy of appealing to Cersei’s better nature. And walking right into crossbow range. And assuming Bronn wouldn’t slap him around just because they had history. Honestly, for a clever character, Tyrion is starting to become a real dumbass.
HBO
Down: Jon Snow
Wow, man. Are you seriously going to pull a Lena Dunham on the dog who just lost an ear protecting you from the undead? Not even one last nuzzle and “who’s a good boy?” Also, way to just let your dragon die, you dumb asshole. Jon’s leadership favorability really starts to take a hit once you factor in pet ownership.
Up: Brienne Of Tarth
HBO
The former Maiden of Tarth got to have two men fight over her, finally got it in, and in the end learned a valuable lesson about thinking you can change the handsome charming rich guy who kills people and fucks his sister. You hate to see it. In any case, it seems like she’s better off. And there’s still time to run through the proverbial airport after Tormund.
Up: Starbucks
Excellent product placement, so subtle I barely noticed.
Still, my favorite Game of Thrones coffee tie-in has to be this one.
Even: Arya Stark
Between “I’m not a lady” and “I respect that,” Arya is getting the most consistently fan-fiction-y dialogue in this show. Still, she managed to make a full recovery from getting stabbed by the Night King in less than a day and made Gendry Baratheon fall in love with her after just one roll in the hay. What tricks did she learn from the Faceless Men? Or maybe Gendry was just smitten ever since he thought she was a young boy named ‘arry. Either way, it was probably smart not to husband that one.
What Will Next Week Bring?
Some Cleghane-on-Clegane action? Qyburn getting a taste of his own dark magic? Greyworm going John Wick on some fools? Dorn… well, Dorn factoring into this story in any way? Daenerys letting those Aerys genes shine through? Necromancy spells (Jon, The Mountain) beginning to wear off? Whatever happens, I just want Davos to be okay.

Regarding Better Call Saul's Fourth Season
Better Call Saul came back for its fourth season a few weeks ago, and Will Leitch came back to discuss what's transpired so far: the deliberate pace, the subplots we don't care as much about (sorry, Nacho), the forecast for Mesa Verde's plans for market domination, and what we think becomes of Kim...and of course the provenance of That Letter. We went Around The Dial with Marching Orders, Sharp Objects, Conan's transition away from music and the death throes (?) of late-night, and Babylon Berlin before Will had just one more thing on his Canon presentation for the first real Columbo episode. Who won the numbers game in a high-volume Game Time? Bag up that cast and hop into an all-new Extra Hot Great.

The CW Is Already Eyeing Its Next Arrowverse Spin-Off
Now Playing
Arrow: Olicity's Best Moments
The CW has put a lot of effort into establishing its DC superhero series, spawning what we now fondly refer to as the Arrowverse. But with Arrow coming to an end after Season 8 early next year, The CW is hard at work on trying to find a potential replacement for it in its lineup.
CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Sunday that another DC property is currently being considered as the next addition to the network's superhero universe when asked about a potential Arrow spin-off following Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak's (Emily Bett Rickards) daughter, Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara).
"There's a possibility [of a next generation spin-off], but we haven't fully had the discussion about that one way or another," Pedowitz said. "Right now there's another property that we're looking at for next season."
Pedowitz wouldn't reveal what that property was, but he did confirm to a small group of reporters that the potential series would reside in the Arrowverse rather than as a stand-alone series like Black Lightning.
Everything We Know About the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover
With The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, andBatwomansticking around (with no end in sight for any of them, according to Pedowitz), one has to wonder whether The CW will go the Wonder Woman route for another singular hero series, or whether another team-up series is on the agenda..

OTT Viewing Growing Overall TV Viewership
Consumers who stream over-the-top video in addition to linear TV are adding to the total video viewership pie, according to data from Samsung Ads. Samsung Ads will release the results of its research today during Advertising Week New York.
Samsung Ads based its research on first-party data from some 32 million Samsung smart TVs in U.S. households. These smart TVs not only allow for inputs from connected TV devices, set-top boxes and gaming consoles, but also come built in with access to Samsung’s app store, which is a robust OTT ecosystem in and of itself.
“What we are seeing is that the launching of these apps has grown by 200% since 2011,” Tom Fochetta, VP of advertising sales at Samsung Ads, tells Video Insider. “Now we are seeing these OTT users launch these apps nearly every other day. It is becoming part of their video content mix; consumers are seamlessly going back and forth between smart TV, a gaming console, smartphone, tablets, and consuming this video through multiple touch-points.”
advertisement
advertisement
Of course, while OTT video may be the hot topic in the media industry, traditional linear TV remains king of the castle -- for now. Samsung’s data found that 81% of its smart TVs still tune in to linear TV.
Samsung also focuses on an audience that it calls “Total TV Watchers” -- consumers who watch linear TV and OTT video. Samsung found that they watch on average 75 hours of linear TV per month, and open streaming apps 140 times per month. They watch on average 11% more OTT video than the average viewer.
“They actually are making room in their media mix for more media content,” Fochetta says. “It is not a zero-sum game.”
Ultimately, Samsung hopes that the research it presents challenges some misconceptions about TV, and how advertisers and media buyers approach their planning.
“The definition of TV is changing. I feel like the industry tends to bifurcate it, it is either linear or OTT, but it is not that simple,” Fochetta says. “These users are going seamlessly back and forth between many different sources. What this means for agencies and brands is that they need to transform their media plan, to buy around delivering a better experience for the consumer. And they have to reach them throughout this media consumption journey.”

Tell Your Dad Hulu Is Prepping an Ambitious Multi-Series John Grisham TV Universe
As you wrap up another hardcover copy of a John Grisham novel as a holiday gift for your Dad, Hulu has its own present for dear ol' Pa. The streamer has cut a deal for not one, but two series based on a pair of Grisham's novels. Big deal, you say. But it's how the shows are being packaged that's really going to blow your mind.
Hulu is eyeing an entire John Grisham universe (let's call it the JGU) of TV series, starting with adaptations of The Rainmaker and Rogue Lawyer, according to Deadline. What's really cool is that both shows will be released simultaneously, as they share storylines, characters and a common villain, essentially making both series crossovers.
The Best, Worst and Most Unforgettable TV Moments of 2018
However, each series will allegedly stand on their own, meaning they can be watched individually. Watch The Rainmaker first, then move on to Rogue Lawyer, or watch Rogue Lawyer then The Rainmaker. Or, you can watch one episode of The Rainmaker and then an episode of Rogue Lawyer, and go back and forth the whole way through. Maybe you can even watch three episodes of Rogue Lawyer, then four episodes of The Rainmaker, then two episodes of Rogue Lawyer and one episode of The Rainmaker or whatever other unholy combination you can think of. Hulu would not confirm that you can watch the series that way, but it's giving you some options, basically.
If all goes well, more of Grisham's books will be adapted and possibly told in similar parallel fashion. Dude has almost 40 novels published, so there's plenty of material to work with here.
Though most adaptations of Grisham's work have been on the big screen, a few of his books have been turned into TV shows. CBS gave us The Client in 1995, and fans objected to NBC's The Firm, which bombed in 2012. An adaptation of Grisham's only true crime nonfiction book, The Innocent Man, debuts Dec. 14 on Netflix.
There's no word on a premiere date for the JGU.

Don Lemon Hits Trump's Constant 'Hoax' Cries With A Brutal Fact Check
President Donald Trump on Monday dismissed allegations of sexual assault against newly-confirmed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a “hoax.” But as CNN’s Don Lemon pointed out, that’s a word the president has used a lot.
“Looks like a ‘hoax’ is the new ‘witch hunt,’” Lemon said, pointing to another phrase Trump has often used.
Many of Trump’s “hoax” cries haven’t been hoaxes at all. Some were debunked by members of his own administration, and in at least one case, by the president himself.
“So when the president tries to tell you that what you’ve seen with your own eyes and what you’ve heard with your own ears is a hoax, just remember all the other times he has cried hoax,” Lemon said.
See his full takedown in the clip above.

Sony Music UK to Join Universal, Facebook and Google At London's King's Cross District: Report
The U.K. arm of Sony Music is reported to be leaving its West London base and joining Universal Music, Facebook and Google in the capital city’s fast-growing music, tech and media hub at King’s Cross.
According to Property Week, the music label is closing in on a deal to take up six floors and 124,000 sq. ft of office space at 4 Handyside Street, located at the heart of the North London district. Sony Music declined to comment on the reported move, which is not expected to take place until 2021.
If correct, Sony will once again be neighbors with Universal Music, which moved from its long-time home in West London to King’s Cross last year. Google’s UK offices are also located in the once run-down, now thriving Kings Cross district, with the Silicon Valley tech giant planning to build a new 11-storey, 1 million sq. ft 'Landscaper' campus close to its current base. When completed, it will be Google's first wholly owned and designed building outside the U.S.
Last year, it was announced that Facebook had signed a deal to acquire 611,000 sq. ft of space across three buildings at King’s Cross. The new Facebook offices, which include landscaped roof gardens and terraces, are due to open in 2021.
Already present in King’s Cross is U.K. performing rights society PRS for Music, Vevo, British newspaper The Guardian, media multinational Havas, Louis Vuitton and the University of the Arts London (home to Central Saint Martins, whose alumni include Stella McCartney, PJ Harvey and Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker).  Meanwhile, just a stone’s throw away is Tileyard Studios, a large complex containing over 80 recording studios and more than 100 offices spaces that includes Mark Ronson, Chase & Status, 100 Management, publisher Notting Hill Music and Spitfire Audio among its clients.
If or when Sony joins them in King’s Cross -- located near Camden, St. Pancras International railway station and Regent's Park -- it will leave only Warner Music in Kensington, the wealthy West London district that has long been home to the British music industry.

HBO Hires Intimacy Coordinators for All Sex Scenes
Shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld enjoy a certain freedom that comes with being housed on HBO, pushing the boundaries with explicit sex scenes that will make the more reserved blush. And while the final product looks seamless on screen, the road to get there can often be quite awkward and uncomfortable due to the level of intimacy and trust required to create these sensitive scenes. It's even more complicated when you consider that many of these sex scenes feature little to no direction and actors are often asked to just "go for it."
In the wake of the #MeToo movement, HBO is doing its part to foster a comfortable working environment for its actors as they perform these intimate scenes. That's thanks to The Deuce actress Emily Meade, who advocated to bring in an intimacy coordinator to help facilitate her explicit love scenes on the retro series. Now, HBO requires intimacy coordinators for all their shows and films featuring sex scenes, Rolling Stone reports.
The inclusion of an intimacy coordinator on the set of The Deuce has already been felt by Meade, who plays the porn star Lori. In the spring, when the actress was instructed to simulate oral sex on screen, something she had never done before, the show's intimacy coordinator, Alicia Rodis, was on hand to alleviate any discomfort and act as a personal advocate, providing knee pads, mouth spray and flavored lubricant, and relaying any of her concerns with the director.
Discover your new favorite show: Watch This Now!
"With intimate moments, from kissing to intense sex scenes, it's been the practice [for directors] to just say 'Whatever you're comfortable with, just go for it,'" Rodis told Rolling Stone. "But if you're not giving someone a map or an exit or a voice, just asking actors to roll around and get off on each other, are you asking your actors to do sex work? Or tell a story with their movements? If your set doesn't have an intimacy coordinator, at best, you might not be able to tell the story you wanted to tell. At worst, you have actors who are being physically assaulted."
After consulting with a bevy of professionals, including sex workers and psychologists, and listening to harrowing stories from actors and crew, Rodis took these concerns to heart and has worked to improve the way that sex scenes are filmed. More than just ensuring that an actor is physically comfortable during a scene, Rodis works as the middle person between an actor and a director so that everyone is comfortable with what is being asked of the actors and ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
"I am here to give a voice to actors, especially actors who feel like they don't have one. And I'm also here for the producers, to make sure that they know they're doing their best to make sure the set is safe," added Rodis, who also acts as an intimacy coordinator on the set of Crashing, the Watchmen adaptation and upcoming Deadwood film."Here we are a year after #MeToo and Brett Kavanaugh sits on the Supreme Court. Donald Trump is our president. Now, tell me we don't need this -- that we don't have a culture that needs to still be changed."
The culture has already begun to change, thanks to Rodis' work. HBO's policy to staff intimacy coordinators for all shows and films is a great step in the right direction, and The Deuce showrunner David Simon also already stated that he would never work without one again. Hopefully more networks and producers will follow suit.

Walking Dead: Sonequa Martin-Green Among 3 Alums Returning in Season 9
Walking Dead fans will soon be seeing ghosts — three of ’em, to be exact. At the show’s New York Comic Con panel on Saturday, showrunner Angela Kang revealed that former cast members Sonequa Martin-Green and Scott Wilson would make an appearance in Season 9, which kicks off Sunday (9/8c, AMC). The pair played the late Sasha and Hershel, respectively.
Martin-Green, who has since moved on to Str Trek: Discovery, and Wilson will be joined by previously announced returnee Jon Bernthal. The Punisher actor’s comeback was leaked over the summer when a fan spotted him hanging out with fellow Walking Dead cast members near the series’ Georgia set.
At Saturday’s NYCC panel, Kang declined to reveal how the trio would reappear, but conventional wisdom suggests they will turn up via flashbacks — perhaps connected to the looming departure of leading man Andrew Lincoln (Rick).
Martin-Green’s Sasha was killed off Walking Dead in the Season 7 finale, while Wilson’s Hershel was beheaded in the middle of Season 4. Bernthal was written off near the end of Season 2 when Shane was fatally stabbed by his onetime BFF Rick. He reprised his role for a single episode in Season 3 when Shane appeared as a figment of Rick’s imagination.

Star Trek: Discovery Revisited Culber's Tragic Story with a Surprising Twist
Now Playing
Watch CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 Trailer
Dr. Culber's (Wilson Cruz) shocking death on Star Trek: Discovery and subsequent appearance in the Mycelial network made it clear that his complicated love story with Stamets (Anthony Rapp) was far from over.
Thursday's episode, titled "Saints of Imperfection," finally revisited the deceased medical officer's traumatic tale and revealed the extreme distress he'd endured since being killed by Tyler (Shazad Latif). Tilly's (Mary Wiseman) new sidekick, the apparition posing as her childhood friend, May (Bahia Watson), might have been a thorn in her side but the sentient creature also inadvertently played a key role in reuniting Stamets with Culber.
After witnessing Tilly disappear in that strange cocoon, a devastated Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) returned to the bridge to deal with the ongoing issue of tracking her brother Spock (Ethan Peck). They found a lock on his shuttle and after a short chase, were able to pull him aboard the Discovery... or so they thought. Captain Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) emerged, informing the crew that she, too, was tracking the troubled Vulcan and found his shuttle abandoned.

With Spock wanted for the murder of several Starfleet officers, Section 31's leader, Leland (played by Reign and Shadowhunters alum Alan Van Sprang), offered to assist the crew in finding him. Of course, he wasn't going to leave Georgiou behind — she's needed elsewhere — and instead, placed Section 31's newest recruit aboard. Tyler's assignment to the Discovery pairs the former Klingon torchbearer with a crew still leery of him for murdering Culber. However, Burnham still trusts him — more, even, than she does Georgiou, which Captain Pike (Anson Mount) has picked up on — so he has, at last, one friend on board. And an honest conversation about the Mirror Universe emperor's true identity was left for a later time.
Meanwhile, Stamets devised a plan to get Tilly back after deducing that not only was she still alive but somehow amongst the spores in the Mycelial network. It's a good thing that Pike trusts Stamets' judgment because Stamets' mind-boggling theory (that using the USS Discovery as a doorway into the network was their best shot at rescuing Tilly) seemed to fly right over his head — and ours. Either way, his plan worked and Stamets and Burnham were soon wandering around the network in search of their friend.
It turns out that May brought Tilly into the network to help kill a monster that had been harming the spores. We soon realize that the evil in question was actually Culber who used toxins from a poisonous tree to defend himself against the spores that were attacking his reformed cells, killing them off in the process. But Culber's fight for survival took its toll and the disheveled doctor hardly recognized Stamets when the science officer appeared before him. However, imminent danger cut their touching reunion short. Spores were attacking the ship's hull and if they didn't leave soon, they'd know exactly what it feels like to be eaten alive. Yikes! Plus, a much-needed assist from Section 31 only bought them a few extra minutes.

With time running out, Stamets, Burnham, Tilly and Culber rushed to the doorway back to our reality only to be faced with another complication. Culber somehow could not cross over. A flashback revealed that Stamets accidentally transported Culber into the Mycelial network while still connected and Culber's body was reformed with help from the spores. Since his cells came from the network, it would be impossible for him to exist outside of it. Just when it looked like he'd be stuck in the network forever, the gang improvised a new plan to bring him back which involved the strange cocoon that engulfed Tilly.
While the others crossed back over to our reality, May helped Culber through the cocoon and Culber was essentially reborn, naked and all. But the move also destroyed their connection to the network which meant Tilly had lost her newfound friend. However, both she and Culber are back and that counts as a huge win.
Elsewhere, Admiral Cornwell (Jayne Brook) called a secret meeting with Pike and Leland to relay their official new mission: team up to find Spock. One of those mysterious red signals left behind tachyon radiation which either alludes to time travel or is just the byproduct of a transporter. While they're unsure of what that means just yet, they do know that Spock is connected to it all and because of that, finding him the Federation's top priority. As such, Pike and Leland will be forced to worked together whether they like it or not. Given that there's no love lost between these old acquaintances, teaming up is sure to be a real task.
See how it all turns out when Star Trek: Discovery continues Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c exclusively on CBS All Access.
