We tried to get Jarvis to pick what toy he wanted to play with by presenting all of the toys we've bought him so far in a cloth box for him to root through, and he ended up just chomping on the box and wanting to play with that. Is my pitbull actually a cat

Does Jarvis have a favorite toy?
Jarvis is a weirdo and doesn't really play with things for very long. We'll give him a new toy, he'll play with it pretty happily for a few hours (there's this simple bone-shaped chew toy he was obsessed with a few days ago), but then the next day he'll sniff at it and not play with it anymore. Partner and I were joking that Jarvis was spoiled by his previous family and only wants new toys, thank you.
The only one he'll go back and throw around and play with is actually the first toy we ever got him, this frog:
He'll play tug with it and throw it around still. I'm surprised it's still around, bc I was expecting him to rip it to shreds, but he's surprisingly soft-mouthed and gentle with his soft toys. He'll reposition his mouth if they squeak ahaha
Honestly, though, Jarvis's favorite thing are those recycled drink holders that you get from fast food places, he'll tear those up into small pieces and try to get you to hold onto pieces for him so that he can rip chunks out of them.

Something that Winning Time changed was that when Larry dropped out of college, he didn't actually drive home, he hitchhiked. It's not a super important detail, honestly, but I just liked what it suggested of his personality.

I *did* like this character though, even if he was just not-Larry Bird.
Mas y Manos - More Rodney/Duster + César
Rodney gets known in certain parts of El Primero for being the beanpole hick giant who will get into bar and street fights with pretty much anyone who gets in his face or challenges him. Maybe it's not a great rep to have, even if he's known for winning those fights. But it does garner the attention and interest of some organizations.
César really really wants him to join the Calaveras. Rodney, who keeps to himself mostly, isn't exactly jumping at the opportunity.

Remember when I had an OC that was just like 90% Larry Bird, that I made back when I didn't want to admit that I really liked Larry Bird.
If I eve go crazy enough and Larry and Magic make me want to make a Gay Basketball comic, I'll just use him and create another character who is Totally Not Magic and I will be free
New Mas y Manos character dropped, Rodney "Duster" Lawrence. A 6'10" guy from a rural town hours outside of Los Templos, he came to the big city on a sports scholarship, the first of his family to go to university, before freaking out from culture shock and social anxiety, and dropping out. He's been too ashamed to come home. Has since then just stayed in Los Templos working city maintenance jobs and pool/card/etc sharking in bars around El Primero to send money back to his mom and siblings.
Not afraid of a bar fight. Maybe participates in too may of them.
Potentially ends up as the unexpected muscle of one of Los Templos's gangs/organizations. In a way it's still tricking people. He's tall but he's gangly and at first seems uncoordinated or out of his element--people don't really expect him to be as much of a fight as he actually is. He's mercilessly scrappy. They don't expect much from farm boys in the city. That's how they end up beat.
I joked to myself that I needed to make a character that was "white and not conventionally attractive," since it's been a hot minute, so this is what you get. Still trying to figure him out though.

I'm glad my insanity has benefitted other people (I mean this honestly). I've said it before, but non-sports people getting enjoyment/knowledge out of the dumb little things I make is a big thing for me. Happy you got some conversation out of it!
