“Ah, man...I get dragged back into this shithole of a city, and not two minutes later someone’s trying to fuck it up again. Seriously, you could’ve at least waited until I’d settled in...”
The lanky detective made his way through the city streets, wandering aimlessly throughout as fires blazed and the earth split apart. He gotten so used to the sight from all the previous near-doomsdays in Hive City that it hardly inspired any emotions aside of his standard apathy. The mysterious voice from before and the missing scientists intrigued him, but he didn’t have any leads to go from as far as finding them. No point in wasting energy on a wild goose chase. Maybe later on, once he’d gotten his horizons of the city back.
All around were police officers busying themselves trying to get stray civilians to safety from the ongoing weirdness. They seemed to be working a lot more efficiently then the last time something like this had occurred. Maybe the idiots around here were starting to shape up after all. Adachi didn’t feel any pressing obligation to assist them, but he supposed he was still technically among their number-if only in spirit-so it wouldn’t look good on the reports if he just stood around doing nothing. He would leave the heavy lifting to the others-whoever was left among his colleges that actually knew what they were doing, anyway-and look for some sort of meaningless task that would pass the time.
Out of the corner of his eye, Adachi spotted someone wondering in a nearby area that was covered in warning signs and police tape, most likely because it’d been heavily damaged in the last quake. Had they wandered in there by accident, or had they just decided to ignore the quarantine? Wouldn’t surprise him-the police didn’t exactly garner a lot of respect here. The detective shrugged his shoulders and went over to the entrance, not bothering to cross over the barricade. Evacuation duty was fine, but he wasn’t going to risk his neck for some no-name loser.
“Hey! Yeah, you over there! This area’s been sectioned off for public safety! How about you get out of there so that we’re not digging up your body later?”

You know. If you’re on bad terms with Ema, you shouldn’t really be around a lot of glass and harmful objects.
She has a bunch of choices for good old Detective Adachi here. She could snackoo him. She also has a spray bottle of that one dangerous chemical with the really long name that she can spray at his face. Or beat him with a rolled up newspaper that she found on the coffee table.
But she chooses the simple option. To just let out her anger on him by pushing him. Too bad she proceeds to push him (ONCE AGAIN) on the glass coffee table, smashing the glass into pieces due to the force of the push and the weight of his body. Oops. She mostly didn’t mean to push you that hard.
Sad to be you, right Adachi? She thinks as she leaves with a smirk.

“Hate him? Don’t kid yourself. You’re assuming that I give a shit about that brat. Here’s where you’re wrong: I don’t. I’m tired of playing babysitter for these kids, and after that whole tournament bullshit months ago, I really don’t want to have to deal with him again. He’s such a pain in the ass…If dear little Sho-kun wants to run around and be a criminal, rob a few banks, start a few fires, all that fun stuff, who cares? Not me. Kids need to enjoy themselves, after all. As long as bodies aren’t piling up by the thousands, I’d call that a pretty good day for this shithole of a city. Less work for me to deal with, anyway.”

This will happen again, and again, and again, and it’s not going to ever stop. And you know why? Because Sho-kun’s still an ignorant, selfish little brat, off living in his own little world where he thinks he can do whatever he wants and not face the consequences. He’ll use his powers to step on everyone else whenever he feels like it, just because life doesn’t go his way all the time, or even just to keep Roman from getting bored. He thinks he’s above everyone else, that he can hurt whoever he pleases and he’ll never have to pay for it. That’s just how he thinks. And despite what Yu-kun and the rest of those kids might say, it won’t change by “appealing to his morality,” or “showing him a little friendship.”
“So if the rest of the city wants to ignore the situation and hope it goes away, that’s fine by me. Meanwhile, those of us who choose to live in the real world will be busy working on finding an actual solution to the problem, one that’ll make sure it doesn’t come back.”
