April 20th - Our last Spring Brown Trout charter is in the books for 2024. Dave and his crew from PA joined us after being rescheduled from a snow storm earlier in the month.
The fish did not disappoint! We took North of 30 bites today that consisted of mostly Brown Trout, but we did nab a Pike and Walleye. A STUD Walleye! Both of those species are still swimming, but we boxed 18 BTs and got out of dodge as the wind was howling.

April 14th - Ray, Kurt, and Joe joined us for their annual Spring fishing charter out of the Port of Rochester. These guys always seem to grab a few Silvers during their Brown Trout charters, and today was no different. We ended 4/7 on Salmon bites.
Back to the initial target species, we had all classes of Brown Trout hitting the deck. The quality of the Browns we were catching was impressive. Deeper water + shirt cores + spoons = NICE BT!

April 7th - Sunday we fished a new group, and they got it right! Dave and his buddies had great weather, and the fishing was spectacular. We were surprised to land on the amount of Salmon we did, and these guys loved every minute of it. So much so, we were dumping some really nice Brown Trout back overboard waiting on more Salmon strikes.
One of our guests on this day explained how he traveled the world as a chef and was looking forward to cooking up the Brown Trout and Salmon from this trip. He showed us "Salmon scrape" and explained how Salmon patties are made from this meat we generally toss overboard. He sampled it raw and had no complaints....😁

April 6th - A group that has fished with us for many years was unable to make their trip this Spring. So, they found us a new group to take their place! Gary brought his son, daughter, and her BF with him today. They live in northern PA and drove up this morning.
The wind hasn't let up much, but we managed today. The bite was really good for the first few hours. We couldn't get all 13 rods in for a while. The bite then slowed to a decent pick. These guys were really impressed with this fishery. The kid was on the ball! It was great to see the excitement when he saw a bite. He also kissed every fish that went back in 🤣.

Head over to our YouTube page and watch our guest battle with a Spring King Salmon on our light action Brown Trout rod/reel setup. For such a young angler he had great patience and focus, which eventually landed him a beautiful fish.

March 30th - Today, our guests were supposed to fish from our aluminum boat. Their trip was rescheduled a few weeks ago due to bad weather. The overwhelming excitement of having the new boat in the water found us fishing in the big boat, and they didn't seem to mind 😁. Three generations on board, and they had no shortage of action. Most of the action we had was from Brown Trout, but we did go 1/2 on Salmon. That's crazy for March!
As always, look for our video fishing report in the comments. We really appreciate the support and comments we get from everyone. We're looking forward to this season, and we hope you guys are too!

March 16th - We had another great day on Lake Ontario chasing Spring Brown Trout. Today, we had a new group onboard that live near Philadelphia, PA. They were skeptical of fishing this time of year. We assured them they made the right decision after a day on the water! We had a great chew that was consistent all day. We never poked anything really big, but two great classes of fish that will certainly benefit us in the future.
Enjoy the pics from today, and stay tuned to our page later this week for the launch of the big boat!

March 2nd - Brown. Trout. Beat. Down.
Well that was FUN! Our long time clients "Doc and Kurt were spoiled today. Even though we were faced with clear water the overcast skies and some great baits kept us busy. 40+ fish day all released to fight another day. A lot of small fish, but we tangled with a few donkeys.

December 31st - We beat up the Lake Ontario Brown Trout pretty good today. This is my favorite time of year to fish them! Why? Traffic is non existent, and the fish are hungry. These guys had all they could handle setting a dozen lines and reeling in fish.
We took fish from 10-50' today. Everything fired from our Cannon Downriggers to our surface lines.

November 12th - We beat up the Oneida Lake Walleye population this morning! Prior to the trip I asked them their preferred fishing presentation, and they asked to troll. So that's what we set up for.
We trolled 16-18' most of the morning trying to keep our baits in that 10-12' range. It was almost impossible to keep 8 rods in. Our furthest two boards on each side pulled Bay Rat Short Shallows back 100' on 20lb braid. The two inside boards on each side pulled Deep Husky Jerk 10's and #9 Flicker Minnows back 45' on 10lb mono. Our best colors imitated Perch.
For the last couple of hours we slid out into deeper water looking for some bigger fish. We targeted 30+' of water and grabbed a couple nice Walleye, and a stud 4.7lb Smallmouth Bass. The deep water program was 85' back on the braid rods, and 85' back on the mono rods with 2oz drop weights. #9 Flicker Minnows on one side, and #10 Deep Husky Jerks on the other.
That's it for a few weeks! If weather allows we'll try to get out in early December if anyone's interested.

November 11th - We did some exploring today! It was pre-covid since we chased after trophy Walleye. The weather window allowed us to get out, and we took full advantage of it. We started the morning off with a 10lb eye, and followed that up with an 8lb and 11lb specimen. We dropped 5-6 other fish, and landed a Northern Pike, a Smallmouth, and a few White Perch. Boy do I love double digit Walleye! Everything was released to grow, because we'll be back looking for that "teener!"

November 5th - Paul and his brother met us this morning at Oneida Shores for their annual Fall Walleye charter. Being regulars we knew they preferred to troll, so that's what we were set up to do.
Our first few trolls targeted 15-16' of water right outside of the weeds. We made four trolls in that depth range on two different spots. On our fifth troll we looked at deeper water (30'), but only grabbed one keeper Walleye and a big Perch. The sixth troll we went back to the area we did our first and second troll though, but we slid out into that 17-18' of water range. All of our trolls took fish!
Today, we pulled stickbaits, and with the help of the precision trolling app we were able to put various baits in the zones we wanted. We ran 8 Offshore inline boards on each troll. The two furthest boards on each side were loaded with 20lb braid, and they fired all day 100' back with Bay Rat Short Shallows in Perch, Jail Bird, Toxic Frog, Can't Afford It, and Blue Tiger. The two inside boards were 10lb mono rods pulling #9 Flicker Minnows and Scatter Huskys back 40-45'. Our best colors in those offerings were Perch, Black/Silver, and Purpledecent

September 17th - That's a wrap for 2023! We played offshore for most of the day, and unlike yesterday, we lost more than we landed. We decided to finish up with a few Lake Trout, and the guys had a blast with those.
Today is a little bittersweet. It's the last trip on the Trojan. This girl has treated us AMAZING for 13yrs, but we're looking forward to next season on a new ride. Stay tuned as we share the rigging journey with you.

September 16th - We fished from the Port of Rochester this morning helping out a good friend. Not much of a stager bite in the ROC so we busted offshore first thing this morning. Fished 22-28N today with 25-28 being the best water. Next year's fish looked great, and we poked a few jumbo Steelhead. Lots of food out there to compete against, and temps were down 90+, but that's September offshore fishing for you.
