one of the most baffling parts of adhd is the food thing. you know the thing i'm talking about. like it is 8:30pm on a friday night, i had to work late and i know i really need to eat dinner but i don't actively feel my hunger right now and i can't think of anything i would enjoy consuming or that i have the energy to prepare but i'm also fully aware i'm gonna feel like shit if i don't eat dinner

youâre allowed to get up one day and just decide to change who you are. dress differently, speak up more, laugh out loud even though youâve never liked your laugh, say what you want to, say hey to people you wouldnât normally, get that confidence going. we donât have to stay the way people see us out of the fear that they wonât like the us we want to be.

Ngl, am slightly annoyed that Hawkeye has fallen into the hearing tropes in portraying deafness and sign language interactions in media in which A) the deaf person is completely silent/mute and B) the hearing person in a signed interaction speaks what theyâre signing at the same time.
A) Yes, deaf people can be silent, but a lot of times theyâre not. Especially when theyâre deaf from birth or a young age like Maya clearly was, thereâs still vocalization that occurs in communication, itâs just less defined than if someone learned to speak before coming deaf or if they were put through a bunch of speech therapy sessions (which, thatâs a whole other can of cultural wormsâsome have had positive experiences with it, many have had negative experiences with it, and a lot of Deaf individuals find simply find speech therapy useless and a waste of time since signing and writing are far more natural, but I digress). Because itâs different for everyone, Iâd be more willing to give them a pass for this, although I will say itâs odd too because her father didnât seem the type that would force her into speech therapy. Anywho, the other point annoys me moreâ
B) Do you know how hard it is to speak/sign two different languages at the same time? ASL and English have very different grammatical and syntactical conventions and itâs just ridiculous to me likeâespecially if the person youâre communicating with is deaf, itâs way easier to just use sign language to communicate. The only reason they have the person speaking is for the hearing audience and itâs painfully obvious in a fourth-wall-breaking, take-you-out-of-the-experience kind of way.
I suppose if youâre using SEE (Signed Exact English) or something, a hearing person might speak aloud while signing because thatâs not a signed language with its own grammar so much as a manually coded form of English that just uses ASL signs (and some other ones so one can sign exactly how English would be spokenâI.e., SEE has a sign for âveryâ while in ASL you just show the intensity of the word with your expression and manner of signing). But speaking while signing like that, in my experience, tends to be a convention more of people just learning how to sign (which would not be the case for Kazi, whoâs clearly been interpreting for Maya for a while). Or they are an interpreter and want to communicate with hearing and deaf people at the same time. But with Kazi, most of the time he signs with Maya itâs either a private conversation he wouldnât have interest in sharing with the tracksuit goons, or theyâre alone together anyways. And thatâs why itâs just so 𤨠âreally?â for me.
If youâre going to have Deaf individuals and signing in television/film, please actually have the signing. Frame it correctly so we can see the signs instead of focusing up on their face and cutting out their hands (thatâs a whole other issue I have with it GAH). Let them communicate in the language most natural to them instead of constantly catering to a hearing audience.
Deaf folk have to read subtitles for every movie they see. Hearing people could stand to do so for a couple of scenes. (And better yet, maybe even learn some signs.)

one of the Kentucky tornadoes traveled on the ground 227 miles, supposedly the longest any tornado on record has in the U.S. The death toll in the state is expected to exceed 100
I've been reading about the candle factory collapse and it's just nightmarish.
Why were there workers in the building at all? seriously I barely slept friday night because there were so many tornado warnings going off. The safety measures taken don't seem sufficient

Your safety is our priority when it comes to HRT! There is, unfortunately, not a safe way to intake testosterone orally the way we do with estrogen tablets. We have a variety of other options such as gels, patches, and injections, each of them best fit for varying needs and journeys! â
