Cathedral rose window Afghan in rainbow colors to compliment my stained glass window Afghan in the same color scheme.

I started this Afghan right after Christmas and worked on it off and on for 3 months before completion.

Tried a houndtooth pattern this go, the warp was a bit annoying to setup doing the weft was fun.

I haven't posted what I have been up to lately from a fiber arts perspective, so here's a little e-spinning I've been doing! The orange tweed 2-plyjis a merino, bamboo, and silk blend I had gotten for last year's Fiberuary on Mastodon (color and texture weeks), but I had a massive amount left (even now I think I may have over 4oz) — it's from Paradise Fibers in the Folklore colorway, I think. The green singles are some lovely polwarth I got from @littlebirdinagarden's etsy, in the Forest colorway (though this is displaying the lightest as opposed to the deepest greens in the colorway)

Finished the big crochet bag today, super excited :D

Immediately started another bag, which I'm sure will surprise no-one.

It's using this yarn which was 2 singles I intended to leave as singles, but ended up deciding otherwise. Added some more twist and plied it. Really pretty result :3

Finally managed to finish this baby hat!

I first tried a cotton merino blend but it didn't have enough stretch and bounce. I also kept messing up the stitch pattern.

Then the dk yarn I tried was too bulky. I wanted a hat for spring weather. Nippy spring weather. It's a nipple hat but that's unrelated I just realised the pun potential.

Then I used this leftover fingering weight yarn and it worked! It's called Little red riding hood, lol.

I decided to forgo the stitch pattern because I kept making mistakes.

I do love the short rows in the band. I love doing short rows and I love protecting little ears so, perfect match.

Remaking this Éowyn after 10 years of cosplay was so gratifying! The trim is all hand embroidered and I’m so proud of how well I was able to dye the matelassé to match the corset suede 😍

It's incredible how people have been protesting pants and skirts not having pockets but not a single peep is heard over the fact that skirts no longer have underskirts by default. Underskirts (or lining) was a thing when I was a child, no skirt would be made without lining, you didn't have to think and check if your whole ass is visible in a skirt because lining was a thing!!!! Now most skirts don't and it's simply because it's cheaper, fuck the fact that a customer doesn't want their panties shown in broad daylight, it saves a couple of cents on material.

Simple skirt project schedule:

Cutting pieces: 1 hour

Ironing pieces: 10 minutes

Pinning pieces: 30 minutes

Sitting on the sewing machine table: 1-3 months

Sewing everything together: 1 hour

what has been your favorite thing to knit so far?

probably my aquamarline sweater that i made last fall :)

it was super simple, process-wise to knit, and it worked up quickly because of the big needles and multi-stranded yarn. but i had, as you can see, a really incredible time matching and marling the colors with yarn from my stash. it helped me understand a lot about how to tell if i had a fabric density that i liked for a particular project, and its gorgeous and comfortable to wear :)
