Captain’s Log 202
After rousing young Kyndred to the challenge, we ascended up through the dais where Kyndred found the hole, and headed in the direction of where Eric and the Duck disappeared off to.
Behold though! Perhaps the Duck is mighty after all, for when we returned there were two! And it seems that in his power he slew a vast number of Kinglers! Although Eric does seem to be missing still, I hope he is alright.
The Ducks led us to a closet where strange markings were, after much struggling, Kyndred ripped the floor clear off revealing another pathway down. I had no idea that the young one had so much strength!
With the Ducks leading the charge we found our way into a corridor locked at the end, while investigating the alcoves in the hallway, I heard a yell and a bright flash of light came from the end. Looking onward I saw the sear of radiant light on the floor where the nun seemingly blasted the door open. But the strangest thing was that the door was still in tact and unharmed as we walked through.
Moving forward we found ourselves back in the crypt, I called for Kyndred to open the chest knowing fully of his strength now. With the swing of his bone and the stabbing of the egg’s daggers they cracked open the chest.
What followed is beyond words, a gorgeous blue egg floated out of the chest, cracks forming along the surface, spiderwebbing around it, and a golden light spilled from its cracks.
My target, my goal, my reason for this cursed venture. A goddess in all her glory before us. Then suddenly she submerged herself.
immediately I called to my aura, extending it out from me, there she was. I swam up a busted staircase following her trail, to find her in the garden from before.
She asked strange questions about why we were here, why were we doing this, blah. blah, blah. I didn’t care, I challenged her then, drawing my cutlass at her. Striking her, goading her, she lashed out with devastating power, I briefly fell but thankfully the nun is good for something and got me back on my feet. I would not hesitate while my target was here. A blood thirst I had not known since my early days on the high seas rose within. I did not stop for a moment. Eventually she began bleeding the blood of the gods, a golden ichor, I didn’t hesitate to finish her off.
My trophy hung in the air for only a moment as she disappeared, a ruby red gemstone, it glistened in the water. Before anyone else could think, I snatched it from the its position.
But there was a new issue, the water in the castle had started to decrease, things were melting, we had to get out.

Hi!
Hey everyone! I’m Kenny, the player for Kyndred! (I chose to make this post after making Kyndred’s first post. Whoops.)
A little info on Kyndred from me and not him!
He is young and does have a speech “impediment.” It’s not a full on lisp but kinda. It just helps me distinguish myself from him and also get his youth across while playing. So I’m gonna try to reflect that in as much of his writing as possible. He isn’t much of a smart boy but he tries his hardest and gives everything his best effort. He’s kind but mischievous often letting his sense of wanting to protect people get him into a little trouble; but nothing he can’t handle!
If you have any questions for me OR Kyndred, please feel free to ask either of us! I am always more than happy to talk about my sweet boy!
(You can also find me on my personal blog @aphroditesfever )

Kyndred!
Soooooo. Fletch gave me this journal and asked if I could write in it about our aventures. I didn see why not but I wasn sure where to start. So I guess I’ll jus talk about me!
My name is Kyndred. I’m 12 and I’m a Cubone! Uhhh... I guess I should also talk about how I got here.
A big mean ol Toxicroak came to Rochester one night and killed my mommy while she tried to protec me. I got real upset and started throwin rocks to scare it away. I managed to get it to go away but it was too late for my mommy. So I wear her skull on my head and use one of her bones to bonk big mean monsters! I wanna protec people who can’t protec themselves. I miss my mommy a lot, but I know she would be proud of me.
Oh! I really like to bonk stuff. But I also like cookin! It reminds me of mommy. Livin in Rochester made that easy. We had a farm there where the farmers would gimme free food every week. I don know why but everyone was always so nice to me there. They gave me things and took care of me. But I was always ready to protec them too! I always bonked the big monsters away when they needed me to. Uhhh... thas really it about me. Feel free to ask me questions! I like makin new friends!

Captain’s Log 201
After wasting the morning spending HALF OF MY GOLD on this new crew of mine, and observing the way they interact together we finally set off for the Ice Palace again.
I’ve already gathered what I need on most of them already, the nun thinks herself the boss and mother to the rest. The young warrior is innocent and clings to any sort of love he can, a clear sign of orphanage. The sheep is definitely no fighter, simply using her natural abilities to scare the others. The so called knight barely speaks a word but defends the other members of the crew, I am wary of him due to his knighthood but he seems no physical threat. The talking egg is nothing more than a child imbued with strange magic she barely comprehends. My new friend Eric seems content in simply going with the flow, I would enjoy seeing him join me on the seas one day. And I believe this Duck to be nothing more than some fool with his toys.
After much complaining of the weight of the new gear from the Ralts, the crew opts to purchase a cart to take us back to the castle. Upon arrival I lead my crew headfirst into the castle, engaging in combat with the fanged Kingdra. This new crew quickly learned my skill with my cutlass, while the nun was helpful in her uses of holy light, I slayed the beast nearly singlehandedly.
At this point I figured it was time to show the crew my other ability, one I’ve had since birth. I withdrew into myself and expelled an aura around me allowing myself to locate any hidden enemies. Telling my crew that there seemed to be creatures all throughout, including below us. I opted to let the crew lead from here. I may be a mighty swordsman and leader, but I am not the sort for searching for clues.
Soon after, the warrior Kyndred, opens a path below, releasing a swarm of Basculin. The other crewmates were not so useless this time, I found that the Duck’s giant toy packs quite the punch and my leafy friend was handy in magic as well.
The Duck then chose to disappear, but good riddance I say. Although Eric went with him, I chose to follow the young Kyndred. He is strong and I know if the crew were so eager to follow him before that if I could gain his trust, they would do so again.
Descending into the what seems to be a crypt with the nun and egg in tow, we found what seems an ice chest, while I was curious what treasure it may hold, another of those nasty Kingdra descended upon us. Side by side, Kyndred and I fought, slaying the creature.
Kyndred and the egg seemed hellbent on opening this ice chest but their efforts seemed in vain, so being the born leader I am, I gave a speech I’m sure inspired them all, that we needed our full strength to slay any god that may present itself.
Surely I have made an impressive impact on Kyndred now, But I am curious what the rest of this castle will hold for us.

Captain’s Log 200
I can’t believe, the miles I’ve traveled, the things I’ve sacrificed, for this IMBECILE.
He’s no leader, he’s not even the brightest one here, this Mighty Duck is a fake. I did my best to see a fraction of what I had been told but he just flounders around like some common Magikarp. Not to mention his crew, the loudmouth nun and the lazy monk, both defending him!
But I would not be the Great Captain Fletch if I gave up this easily, clearly there is god-like magic in the air and this lot if in desperate need of a strong leader. I have extended my help and naturally they were mutinous to start so I offered them help. A way to get through this water filled castle.
They still insisted that they could do it themselves, so i left in hopes that someone in their crew would be resourceful enough to realize that I am as great as I say. I stayed close by for a captain would not leave this fledgling group alone.
Eventually one of their younger, a strong warrior Cubone began the descent from the castle. He was a quiet lad with a sadness that I’ve known before in his eyes reflected by the moonlight. The crew must value him greatly for soon after they all followed.
I’ve become fast friends with the Leafeon going by the name of Eric, he is a man of herb, something I can respect, perhaps I’ll get a drink with him soon and see how he handles that.
Using the connection I made in Fester, I rest my eyes in his home again offering Eric the room with me. This morning I will seek out more of the Vulpix’s help, the man runs a diving operation in the center of the village and my new crew could use that diving gear.
Soon my new crew will see the value in my leadership.

Captain’s Log 199
Yesterday I made my way through the blasted desert heading to the village of Spruce Valley. I was ambushed on my travels by a group of bottom feeders, they had the nerve-THE NERVE- to tell me, that they had not once heard of the Dreaded Captain Fletch.
Well at this point I had to acquaint them with the end of my cutlass, they had insulted my very honor. Though the bastards managed to get the drop on me, I cut down 2 of their party, as the third fled from his demise, I grievously fell to my wounds.
I awoke to a small clay? cottage, quietly I moved down the stairs wielding my trusty cutlass ready from my kidnappers to find their captive ready for blood. To my surprise I was greeted by a Vulpix, Fester, who claimed his sister saved me!
Bullshit I say, the Great Captain does not need saving. Though the vulpix offered me some meager food, I was on a mission. I needed to find the Mighty Duck, chance be had, the vulpix knew exactly where he went, some strange forest in the heart of the desert. The lad was crazy but its all I had to go on.
I made my way into the forest, strange magic filled the air as I played hop scotch with some magic trees until I found my way to a marvelous ice castle.
Inspecting the bodies of some fallen creatures I found no gold unfortunately, but I’ve never seen beasties like the ones before me today.
I made my way to the front door where the strangest Kingdra I ever did see greeted me with teeth! Backing away, I closed the door thinking that I had no time for such a sorry creature. I scaled the side of the building, easy as climbing the rigging of my dear old ship, knowing that my vantage point would make for an easier time finding my prey.
Making my way to a bridge on the north side, I spied my target below, the Mighty Duck! I had heard the tale but could not believe the sight of his ocean blue feathers. Surely this was a destined captain, surely he would lead me to goal.
But what’s this? A crowd of Kinglers poured out to this sorry lot. Well I guess let’s see how mighty this duck really is.

Welcome to the Beginning
This is the start of a passion project of mine. Myself and some close friends are early in the stages of a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign set in a universe inhabited by pokemon, rather than the typical high fantasy creatures.
To give some background, our group played some D&D set in the wonderful universe of The Adventure Zone with yours truly as Dungeon Master. Eventually this endeavor became too ambitious for myself as our party was much larger and I was new to DMing. At this stage I requested that we begin something new, as most of us were fans of pokemon, I suggested this as our backdrop.
At this stage I was still acting as Dungeon master and my party was comprised of:
Kimura - A protective monk Ralts with the ambitions to become a knight.
Sister Joy - A motherly cleric Audino who had never known life outside the cathedral.
Eric Withakay - A lonesome druid Eevee simply wandering from place to place.
Prie - An orphan sorceress Togepi living in the care of the church.
Kyndred - A valiant fighter Cubone living his young life as a hero and protector to the people.
Lucky Duck - A hermit artificer Psyduck living with his strange contraptions in his quiet home.
I began the adventure with a mystery, the party had been accused of the murder of Dr. Theodore Mime, and they were provided the opportunity to clear their names. After tracking down every lead, the party learned that the Doctor had been working in their small town as a member of a cult, giving to a goddess in return for improvements to the town. The doctor had become ambitious and took to using a gem with strange energy to call upon her powers sucking the lifeforce from children in return for the power he needed. During the battle with our Doctor, Theodore sucked his own life away bringing the goddess Magearna to life. Upon their clash, the party defeated the goddess with all that remained the gemstone.
At this point the party had cleared their names, with the offering of recruitment into the knight’s guild looking into matters regarding the unexplained.
In their travels, they briefly crossed paths with the god Hoopa and his deadly games, as well as a cult of the moon, racist guardians of the forest, and an underground slave colony.
With this our hermit Lucky had made quite a name for himself with tales of his deeds spreading to every corner of the world, the people dubbing him the Mighty Duck.
Sister Joy turned her back on the church in light of a diety attacking innocent children, focusing on the teachings of her diety Xerneas, the god of life, by protecting the helpless.
Kimura overjoyed with his new position, found a young romance in a Kirlia by the name of Alice as well as the pressure by his new mentor the Captain of the Knights to keep his party in check.
Eric Withakay had grown upon the defeat of Magearna, evolving into a Leafeon. And continued his laidback nature of smoking weed and helping where he could.
Prie as timid as ever remained quiet, briefly ensnared by the politics of a strange superstition of the powers that togepi’s have. Plagued by a disease that caused her long hours of sleep.
Kyndred found a friend in a young Mareep going by Elise, Elise had stowed away following them to adventure but Kyndred swears to protect her.
At this stage the party was asked to investigate a strange castle appearing the desert to the north. Armed with little knowledge, the crew headed to Spruce Valley.
In Spruce Valley, the party found that almost the entirety of the village was comprised of fire breathers (fire types) who had been shunned by society for their ill-fated destructive nature. The elder pointed them north instructing them that the young knight of the village Magnus had ventured to find out more about the castle they had been asked to seek. Venturing into the dunes the party found a strange forest and at the heart of it, a castle constructed entirely of ice. They fought strange green skinned creatures and encountered a mutated Kingdra, searching for a safe way into the castle magically filled with water. Finding a garden, the party was sealed inside the enclosure, with the only way forward seeming to be a rear door leading into the castle. Unfortunately it was at this time that dozens of Kinglers poured out of the kitchen inciting a battle.
This is the point of the story where some members of the party had raised some concerns about my Dungeon Master skills. With this, I asked the player for Kimura to take over as acting Dungeon Master as his player was not enjoying themselves to the fullest.
And thus, Captain Fletch was born, a swashbuckling pirate Riolu bent on joining the Mighty Duck’s Crew and slaying gods with him. This is where I will pick up with the logs of his adventures with his new and somewhat unwilling crew.
