It’s crazy that Tommy is literally just the dude-version of a Buck love interest, and is exactly the same level developed character as any of his women love interests, and people are acting like he’s god and the best thing Bucks ever seen when he’s literally just some guy, like sure he’s got some skills that seem cool, but every one of Bucks ex girlfriends had a ‘cool’ factor about them, and he’s being straightforward with his intentions and communicating clearly but that’s not a high bar, that’s just a normal healthy thing to do when you’re trying to date someone, like he’s a nice enough guy but the women Buck has been involved with were ‘nice’ too, like we all furiously hated Natalia because her being a death doula was a red flag for Bucks life but she was never mean to him, we hate Abby even though she taught Buck a lot about love and what he wanted in a relationship because she was too old for him and there was a maturity imbalance that made their relationship incapable of success, but hello Tommy is older too and far more experienced with men it’s the same exact thing, if Tommy was another women you all would have already started putting an * in his name, this is ridiculous

People forgetting Tommy is meant to be 40.

He's not 42 year old Abby from s1 who was looking Buck for escapism and thrill.

Tommy is looking for the one. He knows he is not going to get that from Buck. He knows it has an expiration date. If anything I feel like there's more friendship intention of Tommy's end vs romance. Like sure he's attracted to Buck but even the tone of the romance is more guidance.

It doesn't have to be anything more.

It doesn't dismiss or disqualify Buck's bisexuality.

It's just a mature relationship something Buck hasn't had.

One date does not equal a relationship.

One date is not forever.

One date does not equal marriage.

One date does not equal love or heartbreak.

If the 'relationship' goes no further than one or two dates that does not have to mean disaster and heartbreak. Sometimes people go on a couple of dates and find something doesn't work and they walk away friends. I've done it and so have many many people I know. I don't understand this 'buddie shippers want buck broken hearted when his first queer relationship is ripped apart' stuff. He's not even in a relationship and certainly not in love so it really wouldn't be the end of the world if it ended. It could just be one of those things in life you look back on fondly?

i'm gonna be honest, i do not think buck in any way, shape, size or form considers eddie as a option for him right now (romantically). i'd even go further and say that he does not even WANT to consider eddie as an option at all. and i do think if the possibility were ever somehow presented to him, he would fight against it and repress it like hell.

funniest character dynamic in the world to me is when you have one guy knows hes gay but doesnt realise hes in love with his best friend and another guy who knows hes in love with his best friend but does not know hes gay

Because growth for Eddie is him having an emotion good or bad and letting himself experience it. This man has been burying all his pain in different boxes and ignoring them until it all tumbles down almost the whole show. No one else has to see his jealousy I just want to see that pov moment for him.

Whether Eddie has his oh moment this season or not this season is really about self love for him. Whilst Chris is finding his independence and figuring himself out so is Eddie. He's playing basketball. He's going to see fights. He's getting plastered and singing karaoke. These are things Eddie is doing for himself.

Not out of expectation. Not to fill this mold or others needs.

Christopher is no longer a child. Which is why Marisol is still present because the final hurdle before the realization is hey I don't need a mother. I had one. You are enough. I genuinely do believe (excluding the Fox of it all) had Shannon still been alive he'd of been able to process his feelings for Buck and his sexuality way sooner.

It's just that Eddie's biggest insecurity has always been Christopher. He wasn't present for most of his childhood. His parents wanted to fight to raise Christopher. He couldn't keep his family together with Shannon. Eddie thinks if he can provide that one thing for Chris he's redeemed in some way. Neglecting he shows up in every other way for Chris.

Eddie's getting there. He's grown a lot he just needs a little nudge.

Plus lets be real one of the moments that makes a love story an epic one is that moment of oh that's where I want to be and someone's already there. Hence why jealous Eddie is a need.

WHAT IS IT

I think he understands more than we'd like him to.

not having buddie start as a result of the shooting sucks. we were robbed of that storyline. however, buck realizing his feelings for eddie now, being awkward around him because he’d rather swallow his feelings and force them down than ever risk losing eddie over something so silly as him being. well. kind of the love of buck’s life but it’s fine. he’s a little weird and a little skittish and eddie notices because of course he does. because buck’s half his heart, he’d notice if it started thumping on the off beat out of nowhere. so he confronts him and buck can’t keep the words down even though he wishes he could cuz this will ruin everything and he can’t, he can’t lose eddie. “i’m sorry. god, i’m sorry. i know you don’t feel the same—“ “buck.” “eddie, i’m sorry.” and eddie grabs buck’s face in his hands and his touch barely stutters and the warmth of his palm is so sure against buck’s cheek and he swallows and says “i do. feel that way. i thought you were gonna be the last thing i’d ever see. i thought i was gonna die that day. when i got shot. i thought that was it for me and you were so far but i still—“ and buck’s staring at him wide eyed and he goes “you still reached for me” and eddie nods and goes “and i always will.” and then they kiss!!!!! well i just think that would be good too :)
