I am Remmy, a sophomore at Whitman College. Like any other international student, I came to the US to seek a good education and take advantage of the opportunities available with a hope of contributing to promoting my family’s living conditions. I am the eldest among my siblings and my family had huge expectations of me as I got an opportunity that is quite special considering our background. However, since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7th, my family has been witnessing all kinds of hardships. They are currently displaced, can barely get clean water for their daily use, and are living on a day-to-day basis. In the meantime, as I see all the struggle they have been going through for more than four months, I am feeling helpless not being able to relieve them from this daily suffering. I am initiating this fundraiser hoping that you can assist me in getting my family to safety in Egypt by donating whatever you can.

Israeli propagandists are now resorting to publishing their thinly veiled gang-rape fantasies as eyewitness testimony to justify their genocide of Palestinians.
Similarly, at a recent pro-Israel demonstration in Calgary, multiple pairs acted out these violent rape fantasies, making a disgusting and insensitive display of their pornographic ideas of rape as political spectacle.
At one protest, a woman who simply held a sign reading “Jews say ceasefire now” in complete silence was verbally abused by two pro-Israel women. The women stated not only that she should be raped, but that it be filmed. (I have also received a few similar threats online in the past couple of months.)
Not a single Israeli woman has come forth and spoken of any sexual violence at the hands of Palestinian resistance fighters. Multiple freed Palestinian female prisoners have spoken of horrific sexual violence in the Israeli prisons, however.
Of course, this pornographic obsession with rape is nothing new. Throughout history, colonized peoples have always been dehumanized, racialized, and primitivized through these sorts of baseless accusations. In the United States, Western films were obsessed with the trope of white women being raped by ‘savage’ Indigenous men. White southerners were obsessed with the idea of their women being raped by ‘uncivilized’ black men. Cold War era propaganda frequently featured the idea that Cubans were rapists. American news outlets propagated the lie that Gaddafi supplied his army with viagra to encourage rape. Of course, we know that these accusations were simply admissions of guilt. In every case, the American military has committed horrific acts of institutionalized rape and sexual violence against the women (and men!) in the countries they invade (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.).
What Israel is doing is no different, and they’ve learned their propaganda points from the best in the business. They are aware of their long, recorded history of sexual violence against Palestinians and are projecting. Women everywhere should be OUTRAGED that these governments use fictitious, insultingly pornographic tales of rape to justify their mass slaughter of innocent men, women, and children.

Not a single one has been recorded, no. The Qassam Brigades conducted a very surgical military operation on Oct 7 to liberate their people and there is no evidence that they had/took the time to rape women or behead babies.
There is, however, a VERY long recorded and established history of the IDF’s sexual abuse and violence against Palestinian men, women, and children.
But no one cares when it’s indigenous people being sodomized and tortured by settlers. People care when it’s the uncivilized Arabs supposedly raping the precious white women because this propaganda appeals to white supremacist hysteria, racism, islamophobia, and Western anxieties surrounding colonized people. These lies spread so quickly through the internet because people WANT to believe that Arabs are culturally backward, barbaric savages.
These lies were produced BY the Israeli government and media to justify the genocide they are committing right now. Everyone who uncritically shared it has blood on their hands.
