LOVE EXPRESSIONS
How do you express your love to someone? Is it by physical affection, like hugging them, kissing them, or holding their hands every time you are with them? This is somehow what people will mostly say. Physical affection is actually the easiest way, you just have to touch and make physical contact to the person, setting aside the awkwardness you feel. Well, it will not be totally awkward. It will be comforting, just like how you feel whenever you went back home and lay down in your bed after a long day at school. Some people might not be doing physical affection, but rather, through verbal affection. It is when people, tries to express their love, but not in an obvious way, which is totally romantic, for some. It is in the simple questions, warnings, or reminders that these people express their love. In the simple, "hatid na kita", or in the usual conversation like, "kumain ka na?". We might not simply tell if these people are just reminding you to eat or making sure you're safe, but they might already professing their love to you in the simple ways they do. -kym
"LOVE THIS QUIET MOMENT"
Love, the word itself has so much to it. Love could come in words, actions or even eye contact. Love is like a comfort that can be felt at home. When you find your other half, something in you is somehow completed. Whether it's temporary or for a long period of time, love is love. The simple gesture that will make you feel like you're sitting in a vast field of dandelions full of butterflies. You just know that at that moment, everything is fine. You know you don't eat butterflies, but why is your stomach full of it? The tiny details in that person that made you feel something. The unknown feeling that you have someone to share your happiness with. Love is not always rainbows and butterflies. Love can hurt and torment you. But that's what makes it a whole. Love is love. Love is for everyone to feel. -dom

THE MOMENT I KNEW I HAD COLOR
I am a sophomore in an all girl's school. The teacher dismissed the day. Just like how my other days went, I always end it by walking on the 3rd floor's hall, until it's both ends with my friend. Everytime we do this, I feel happy. It became our routine. We would tangle our arms with no other thoughts aside from being close friends. I would talk silly things and she would listen. She would talk about stuff, and I listen. It became our norm.
The comfort I felt just by listening to her. The warm feeling I felt when we touch. Her sweet voice I hear everytime she speaks. The scent and the air my skin feels when she is beside me the same old hairstyle I see in her everyday. The fact that she can't live through the day without using her lip balm. I would not stop bothering her until she buys me something to fill my stomach. Or is it just because I want to spend more time with her? Funny enough, she would watch me eat what she bought and would laugh at me. Of course, I would also share my food to her. Out of the blue, we would talk about life. Serious things. Not at how we just did silly things. Maybe, it was our thing.
That moment I knew, I felt something in my stomach. Maybe it was the food, or maybe, it was that we were laughing too much. Or, was it butterflies? Butnone thing is for sure, she was special to me. Maybe, it was different for her, because at that moment I didn't knew anything. I was happy and I can't imagine that years from now, we are not together. dom & kym

NcoV: An Alarming issue for Filipinos
The year 2020 was just starting, but it seems like everything had been worse. One of the things thst happened earlier rhis year is the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus which originated in China. It was just last February 06, that a 38-year old woman was tested negative of the said virus which was said to be in contact with the first case of NcoV here in the Philippines. This was said to be a proof that the virus isn't fatal for the people, said by some health professionals, but this doesn't actually let people think that we are safe of the virus, how could we know if there are more than 200 cases being monitored? It is up to us if we could be ready and alert for it. -kym

TWO UNBIASED COLORS
Kmyhl and Doms from HU23 class interviews two people with different genders so that there will be two different responses. The first interviewee was a female guard in Ateneo de Naga University. She shared her opinions and thoughts about the said issue regarding the LGBTQIAA+ Community. She answered that there is still bullying that is happening here in the school. Her thoughts is that respect is what's important and needed for harmony. The second interviewee is a bisexual that is part of the LGBTQIAA+ community. He said that in the Ateneo community, everyone supports each other especially in the youth. But there's still a stigma in the old generation. His response was that, the university needs to conduct a seminar for faculties and staffs, for their minds to be open in this sensitive topic. For they should be the guidance and second home these young people should rely and look up to. -dom & kym

POEM.
QUEER
An ocean can never be at peace,
Just like a line that can never be curved.
Beautiful color in people's face,
One's feeling that is much deserved.
Trapped and hidden in a closet,
One may find it comforting and safe.
But that's what makes it catastrophic,
That they are not free nor brave.
It is always like a bird,
How it learned to fly,
As the years go by,
That at past it didn't felt shy.
A bird and an ocean,
One can always vary.
Peace and acceptance,
Were against this resistance.

VIGNETTE.
"Beautiful People"
Our school held the annual pride march last July, an event that showed support to the LGBTQIAA+ Community. We get to witness the parade, and we're not gonna lie, It feels like we're actually inside a rainbow because of how colorful the parade and the crowd was. The wholw Ateneo Community made an effort to proudly represent and speak for the LGBTQIAA+ community with a sime act such as this event. However, it is an inevitable case that some people still have discrimination against the LGBTQIAA+, and it is still evident in the society today. As we head home, happiness was building inside of us, because as we held the rainbow flag, we knew that someday, the LGBTQIAA+ community will have their freedom. -Dom & Kym

Vignette/Poem.
A VIRTUAL LOVE.
"Honey, I'm home!" The guy shouted as he gets inside his house. Somewhere inside the house came a response, "Oh, you're here! I've missed you!" The guy hurriedly went to the kitchen. "Do you want to have dinner, honey?" The guy asked. "Oh, I would love to!" someone replied. It was then that the guy went to the living room. He sat down on a chair and pushed a button located at the side of the light switch. A screen lights up beside the table, showing an image of a girl. The girl seems to be pretty, with a pale skin, petit body, and dressed cutely. The girl suddenly talked, "Hi honey! I've missed you so much!" as the guy listens and stares at the screen, he said, "Yes, I've missed you too honey." -Kym
STRANGER THINGS.
Reality could be deceiving,
Maybe one's life in a book
Could be better
People are fake happy.
Everything's strange
As i open my eye
Blood shed and tears
Someone wake me up. -Dom

"REALITY IS OFTEN STRANGER THAN FICTION".
I have read an article that talked about a japanese guy marrying an anime character, which is his most favorite/loved character. In the article, it was said that the guy feels happy whenever he watches his "wife" in its anime episodes. Another thing is that the guy has never been into a relationship and that he feels no one wants to be with him. The guy is alone, and has a history of depression. But now, he's happy because he married his favorite anime character. -Kym
A saying that goes "Reality is often stranger than fiction" Why? Because in fiction stories always have a happy ending, or people get what they deserve. In fiction, everything is nice and everything is interesting. But in reality? What we get is the opposite. Especially in today's time, war, climte disasters, killings and everything bad. Face it, reality will always be stranger. Reality is consists of people who can't be controlled and people who are not easy to read. -Dom

Why is there a need for people to read fiction and poetry?
There is a need for people to read fiction and poetry because these two literary works are an essential part of the literatire of today. Fiction and poetry are one of the most creative and imaginative literary works, but they also portray different social issues which people should be aware of. These issues are presented in a creative and appealing manner through fiction and poetry. We can also know and understand different cultures through reading these kinds of literary works. Cultures that depicts the characteristics of one's nation/country. -Kym
Poetry and fiction have been part of many people's lives. Some may say that poetry helped them to shape who they are today. And fiction let them share how creative their minds are. It is very important to read poetry and fiction because it helps you see things in different perspective. It makes life more colorful than it is now. It is a need for people to read poetry and fiction, because it's the fundamentals on how to learn and understand the world more. Poetry gives more meaning in things. Poetry is an art and so is fiction. People live off by making or even reading fiction and poetry. That's just the world is, it isn't complete without literature. -Dom
