Serveral miles north of Willcox, Arizona, Southern Pacific AC-9 No. 3800 hauls the Pacific Fruit Express across the dry desert westward to Tuscon where the train will be transferred over to another locomotive for the rest of the Journey to Los Angeles, California.

On this bright and sunny Summer day, Amtrak F59PHI No. 456 leads the southbound Pacific Surfliner to San Diego, California as the train travels along the Pacific Coast. In 2019, No. 456 and the other F59PHIs were sold to Metra after being replaced by the Siemens SC-44 Chargers.

As we all know, the Chessie streamliner sadly never entered service for numerous reasons. But in our imaginations, we can depict about what it would be like for if the train did end up entering revenue service. Here along the New River Gorge somewhere between Prince and Hinton, West Virginia, a Chesapeake & Ohio M-1 thunders along the Hinton Division while leading the Eastbound Chessie to Washington D.C. on a peaceful Summer afternoon.

A light Spring breeze sweeps across the Salinas Valley as Southern Pacific GS-6 No. 4464 idles with a freight train a few miles north of King City, California. As the two tracks will merge into one track further ahead, No. 4464 has come to a stop to allow GS-4 No. 4449 to thunder onward with the Coast Daylight.

It’s a lazy Summer day as an A-B-A Set of Milwaukee Road Erie-Built diesels lead train No. 15, the Westbound Olympian Hiawatha, to Seattle, Washington. The train is making its way through Montana along the St. Regis River and a ranch where a group of horses munch on the grass and watch the train thunder by.

Cutting across the snow-capped mountains, F40PH-2s no. 6433, 6442, and 6439 lead Via Rail train No. 2, the Eastbound Canadian, to Montreal and other stops along the way. Since January 15th 1990, Toronto now remains as the Easternmost terminus of the train. However, service between Toronto and Montreal still continues as the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor.

In the early morning hours prior to the sun's rising, Utah Transit Authority MP36PH-3C No. 11 drags the first Northbound FrontRunner train of the day into Draper Station to collect passengers before continuing onward to Ogden and all points along the way.

With No. 2816's Canada-U.S.-Mexico tour coming up, I'd thought it would be appropriate to sketch and color the locomotive in my own drawing style.

On February 1st, 2003, Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Texas and Louisiana while in reentry towards the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. All seven crew members on board were killed when Columbia was destroyed. During its launch into space, a piece from the shuttle's left wing broke off serving as a warning sign for what was about to happen. Never forget the lives of those lost when the disaster occured.

Hurtling across the rolling plains of Texas, a pair of M-K-T ALCO PAs lead the Northbound Texas Special towards St. Louis, Missouri and other stops along the way. Since 1959, Kansas City would remain as the northern terminus of the train until July 1st, 1965 when the service was discontinued. Despite this, passenger train service from St. Louis to San Antonio still continues on as part of a portion of the modern-day Texas Eagle that's owned and operated by Amtrak.

Continuing onward through the remote snow-covered wilderness, the Polar Express chuffs across a bridge as a Bald Eagle flies over the train.

Heading north adjacent to the Americold Logistics Cold storage facility, Union Pacific ES44AC No. 7676 along with SD70ACe No. 8735 and AC44CWCTE No. 5813 leads a northbound manifest underneath a gray cloudy sky. Another ES44AC, No. 8007, is sandwiched within the train acting as a DPU though it is off camera.

Racing across the snow-covered plains of Wyoming like a rocket, EMC E2 SF-1 "Queen Mary" with assistance from booster units SF-2 and SF-3 leads train 101, the westbound "City of San Francisco", out of Cheyenne, Wyoming and towards Oakland, California. The train is immensely packed with travelers who are going home or going on vacation to spend Christmas with ther families and friends. Rumbling past a string of stored coal hoppers, Union Pacific SD70ACes No. 8643, 8472, and 8780 proceed southbound leading a manifest.

Rumbling pass Roy Station, Union Pacific AC44CW No. 7221 and ES44AC No. 7520 (built originally as an AC6000CW) have left Ogden and are proceeding South with a train of grain hoppers. Although off camera, AC44CW No. 6331 (Ex-Southern Pacific 218) is at the back of the train serving as a DPU unit.
