I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.
This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.
You find the content you find behind this warning disgusting, horrifying, upsetting, triggering? You consented. You said you could handle it, and you were able to back out at any time. Bruce's co-workers on the justice league ask, half-jokingly, why he won't go to therapy and he very seriously informs them his first therapist hypnotized and stole money from his clients and tried to do the same to Bruce and THEN years later he found out that same guy started mutating his patients into monster men so that he could do more crimes and while he doubted something like that would happen twice he doesn't feel like risking it and his coworkers just stared at him in dumb silence for a while
Clark asks him later if he was joking and he wasn't and this is why no one can tell when Bruce is making shit up or not

So in my class we name our glue sticks to stop the kids losing or mistreating them - they're much less likely to lose a glue lid if you're shouting "oh no, Alfred's been decapitated". It's fun.
Now, I'm a big batfam girlie ✨ so naturally I named all our glues after these characters. We have Richard and Bruce and Stephanie and Barbara etc. you see the point.
Recently, the first glue stick ran out. It had to go in the bin so unfortunately it "died", and you'll never guess which glue stick was the first to die...
It was Jason.
You could not conceive the sound I made as I had to throw Jason in the bin as all the children shouted things like "Jason's dead" and "noooo Jason!"
Worst things worse, I couldn't even explain how ironic that was that Jason, the second robin, was the first glue to go!

And over time start becoming friends, because this shit happens pretty regularly.
Chuuya: Glasses, damn you're early. What's he in for this time?
Katai: Nakahara, hey. Oh you know, the usual. There was a protest , a cop was harassing a kid and Kunikida decked him in the face.
Chuuya: whistles Impressive, how bad did Kunikida rough him up?
Katai: Cops nose was completely busted.
Chuuya: See at least your idiot gets thrown in here for cool shit. My dumbass decided go go violate a restraining order and go flirt with this poor woman.
Katai: wince Yikes, well if it's any consolation I have to go fill in the butt ton of paperwork from the incident.
Chuuya: Seriously?! That's fucked up, come here I'll help you with it.
Katai: Really? Thanks.
Chuuya: Don't mention it. Hmm why don't we go get some food once we're done and than come get em. Let em rot in there for a bit.
Katai: I dunno... That seems kinda mean.
Chuuya: This is 30 pages long and you're filling it out instead of him. Be a little mean once in a while.
Katai: You have a point, alright.

children existing in public spaces is genuinely like. necessary for the continuation of society. it doesnt have to be your kids you dont have to volunteer at a daycare or whatever but you need to be able to tolerate the presence of someone who is learning how to exist as a human and interact with people
