Randy knew he wanted to propose within the first few months of the relationship. But he wasn’t ready until a few years in.
It takes him nearly five months of just looking for a ring before he finds the perfect one. Then he has to sneakily get your ring size.
Good news is he overhears you talking about it with a friend when you wanted to buy a ring for yourself.
He doesn’t know how to go about it, though. He wouldn’t do it at work, but he doesn’t just want to do it at home. He wants to make his proposal special and memorable.
So he does it when you two get stuck in an elevator on vacation.
You frantically pushed the emergency call button when you felt the elevator stop but the doors not open. Randy is watching you panic, not sure how to help.
He puts a hand on your shoulder and backs you away from the buttons. “Pressing it a bunch isn’t going to make help get here faster.” He’s trying to sooth your worries but he just came off as an asshole.
“I’m sorry, but you know this is one of my biggest fears!” You shout. It’s hot, muggy, and miserable in the elevator. Your suitcase was on the ground and you slid down the wall of the elevator to sit next to it.
Randy saw you bury your face in your arms and he was worried you would start crying. He quickly rummaged through his suitcase and found the little box he had been hiding from you for some time.
He was originally planning to propose on the beach. However, he was panicking almost as much as you were. Randy held the box and kneeled in front of you. “Honey, look at me.” He says softly.
When you look up, he opens the box, revealing a stunning ring. Your jaw dropped. “Will you marry me?”
You lunged at Randy, wrapping him in a hug. “Yes!” You cried out. Tears were starting to fall from your eyes. Randy laughed and helped slip the ring onto your finger. He held you while waiting for help to fix the elevator.
“You’re ridiculous, you know that?”
“What? You said yes!”
“You proposed to me in a broken elevator!”
“Maybe it’ll help you lose that fear—”

He’s young, arrogant, and unhinged—everything people are worried about when they recognized the signs that Randy had a crush on you.
Every time he saw you he would flex his muscles, wink at you, or even try to give you a compliment. Most of the time, they came off as backhanded compliments (don’t worry, Batista would smack the back of his head after).
Batista is his biggest supporter. Triple H is just trying to help the man get laid and Ric Flair doesn’t even know what’s going on.
What people are not seeing is the way his heart beats faster when you look at him. Or how his palms get sweaty when you’re close to him. Or how he daydreams about taking you on a date.
What Randy doesn’t know, is that Batista knows.
Batista will try to get the two of you closer to each other. Mostly he’s going to give Randy ideas for genuine compliments.
When you actually smile at him when he gives you a proper compliment, he can’t help but smile too. If you compliment his smile, he’s probably going to freak out internally. All he can manage to say is “thanks” then run off.
It’s an endless game of Batista trying to get Randy to “man up” and ask you out but Randy saying he wants to “play hard to get” because “that’s what the ladies like.”
“Randy, there’s no ‘hard to get’ if she isn’t trying to get you in the first place.”
“What do you mean she’s not trying?! She complimented me!”
