โก โโ ๊ซ โโ โ โย THERE THEY WERE , ready to rock and roll out with the best of them. To say sheโd calmed completely down from her anxiety in the bathroom would be incorrect ; sheโd given herself some sense of calm but that hadnโt worked its magic entirely. Maybe her heart rate had stilled when Eddie was nearby, but that didnโt mean she was capable to shut off her fears perfectly, even now she feared that her irises would snap to a clock in the distance or hear her name uttered so diabolically, informing her that her time was up. It was only thanks to Eddie that her mind could rest easier, and maybe she felt some guilt inside her that sheโd not told Jason about her feelings yet but what could she do? The guy would tell her sheโs insane, the guy would tell her mom, and her mom -- she didnโt dare think it.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Instead, she made herself grounded by the sound of Eddieโs voice reaching her ears. It caused a light twinge of pink to dust her cheeks, remembering how happy sheโd felt just moments prior while spinning โround and โround in his grasp. Cherry glossed lips spread wider, eyes shifting back to regard him as he made sure she could perfectly see the stage and kept her comforts in mind. If not for this impending sense of guilt that blockaded her, everything would have been regarded as perfectionโฆ Maybe one day sheโd build up her courage and tell Jason, maybe one day sheโd break it off with him at last and finally come clean to herself, but, until that day, sheโd hold this time spent with Eddie close to her chest, beating it in tandem to her heart, pretending that the guilt and fears she had didnโt exist.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย The best seat in the house? โ Whatโs that? โ Her question is genuine, curly locks bobbing as her head tilted. Did he plan to pull her through the crowds of people and help her to the front? Was she going to crowd surf like he mentioned prior? The endless possibilities flooded her mind, yet she didnโt want to steal it from him by blurting aloud something that he might have hoped to keep vague in the first place. No, Chrissy couldnโt do that to him! โ Youโre such a mystery, Eddie Munson. โ Perhaps she should have said freak alongside it ; it might have been a joke between them but her chest tightened to utter it when it could come across as abrasive or outright cruel without context of her own thinking. โ -- but I like mystery novels soโฆthat means Iโll probably like what you have in store! Justโฆif itโs in a -- whatโs it called? Mosh pit? The thrashing head banging thing, then make sure to warn me! โย
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Deep breaths, Cunningham! Deep breaths!
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย The show would start soon and sheโd be swept away in the midst of the music and hype that everyone around her presented ; itโd be like every movie that had a concert scene in it (except the horror movie ones). Youโve got this, Chrissy! Youโve got this!
โงห โโโ THE PROMISES THAT THE CHEERLEADER WAS making were big and bold indeed, but if this night had taught him anything at all thus far, it was that Chrissy Cunningham was not to be underestimated. Getting her to agree to come with him in the first place had been shocking, to say the least, but ever since theyโd arrived, sheโd only continued to raise the bar and SHATTER the ceiling of his expectations. The way sheโd come out of her shell was nothing short of a marvel, at least to the metalhead, who had never known that this side of her even existed. If he had to guess though, he supposed that Chrissy hadnโt even known herself just how capable she was of letting loose.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย The cheerleader had promised not to let go of him, even going as far as to offer to hold onto his belt so that he could keep his arms free, to which Eddie couldnโt help but grin in response to. It was a CUTE notion, albeit one that he would politely be declining. He would never admit it aloud, of course, but he wasnโt about to let any excuse to hold her, to be closer to her, slip through his fingers so easily. Sure, he would run the risk of worsening the lovesick knot that was constantly threatening to twist his stomach into a spiral, but heโd never been the sort to play it safe anyways. Or play it smart, apparently.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Once the flow of the crowd had reached the bottleneck of the doorway, the metalheadโs leather-clad arm slipped instinctively around the cheerleaderโs shoulders, their pace quickening temporarily as the hoard of shifting bodies funneled out into the accumulating crowd that was quickly filling up the expanse of the stadium. Already, holes in the masses were becoming SCARCE as everyone became packed like sardines in a can, but Eddie was careful as he guided the petite blonde, keeping her close in tow while he cut through the ever-shifting CRACKS in the crowd. Heโd stopped only when he was content with the view. Not that it mattered too much. He couldnโt recall a single concert heโd ever been to where heโd ended the night in the same place heโd started it in.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โ This good? โ Eddie questioned after heโd gently pulled Chrissy to stand in front of him. The concert hadnโt even begun, and already the BUZZ of anticipation was causing the fans to stir. By standing behind her, he was hoping to at least serve as a buffer to keep her from being jostled around. โ Can you see the stage from down there, Chris? โ
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย The metalhead lowered himself a little with the bend of his knees, allowing himself to view the world from the short-statured perspective of the cheerleader. With a grin splitting his face and his chin hovering above her shoulder, he shot her a PLAYFUL glance. โ Oh, good. You can. โ He straightened up a little, his voice rising in volume to compensate for the distance between them. โ Donโt worry. When the real excitement starts, Iโll make sure youโve got the best seat in the house. โ The grin on his face widened further, stretching until the dimples adorned his cheeks.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย He wasnโt sure how he was going to convince her to get up onto his shoulders, but he sure as hell was going to try. This very well could have been her first and ONLY metal concert, after all, and he would be damned if she didnโt get to see if from the best seat that the stadium had to offer. It was irrelevant that the best seat just so happened to be on himโฆ OKAY???
