WPA2 protection is immensely safe. WPA2 relies on a user-generated password to keep strangers out of your internet, and there's currently no way for a hacker to infiltrate it remotely.

The original security protocol for Wi-Fi networks was called WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), but it had a number of serious vulnerabilities. Established in 1999, it had been cracked by 2001. It was then superseded by the first version of WPA in 2003, which was replaced by WPA2 in 2006.

If your router is using any security protocol other than WPA2, you should open the router's settings and change it to WPA2.

The most common way to locate your Wi-Fi router's security settings, which includes the WPA2 password, is by signing into your router's settings page in a web browser.

If the router's manufacturer offers a mobile app, you might be able to see the WPA2 settings there as well.

How to find your WPA2 password

1. To open the router's security settings, you'll need to know the router's IP address. This is often written on the side or bottom of the router itself, but if you can't find it there, you can look up the IP address on your computer. Check out our article on how to do just that.

Is there a way from the Asterisk CLI to get a list of MAC addresses of registered phones? These phones are halfway around the world on a network I do not have access to, but I do have access to the Asterisk server. We're going to be transitioning these phones to auto provisioning, but I need to be able to build the config files before we can do that and I need the MAC addresses of each phone. Applications are made more powerful with URL schemes. URL schemes are links that launch an application or kickstart extra functionality. Sometimes even for automating common tasks. In OmniFocus they do a few things: launch directly into a particular view, like Forecast, or add new Stuff from other applications. OmniFocus’s URL Scheme got a major update in April, 2016, with OmniFocus for iOS 2.14. On the Mac, OmniFocus 2.10—launched in June, 2017—includes most of the same functionality.

Automating Task Creation in OmniFocus

There are several ways to add actions to your database—we talk about a few of them on our 3rd party app page specifically about iOS—but a lot more is now possible.

In addition to the add action, OmniFocus now supports the TaskPaper format for action interchange. When adding attachments to new actions, they need to be encoded in Base64. This is easy with Workflow. This shared Workflow takes a file, encodes it, and then sends it over to OmniFocus.

For as long as I’ve been reviewing Microsoft Word, it has been difficult to see any kind of relationship between Word for Mac and Word for Windows, beyond the name and file format. They were essentially two completely different products designed for what, in Microsoft’s mind, were two completely different sets of users.

Word for Mac 2011 changes all that. The Intel-only Word 2011 is a significant and substantive update to Microsoft’s flagship Mac word processing and page-layout application. It is an update that unifies a user’s experience across platforms, and it’s also a release that contains many valuable new features and improvements-more than 30 in all.

The bottom line is this: Microsoft Word for Mac no longer feels like a second-string word processing program in the Microsoft Office suite. It is in fact a powerful tool for creating all your personal and business documents and for collaborating with others. More importantly, Word 2011 now makes it possible to insert a Mac into nearly any business environment and offer Mac users the same set of features found in Word for Windows, without compromise.

Look and feel

Word 2011 has the same look and feel as Word for Windows, but is in many ways more refined and better organized than its Windows sibling. Word 2008 used the combination of a nearly useless Elements Gallery that appeared at the top of every document and a floating Toolbox to provide you with formatting tools for your document.

Word 2011 has the Ribbon, an intelligent, customizable toolbar that provides you with a set of formatting tools suited to your current task. Working on a word processing document? The Ribbon displays a set of text formatting tools. Adding a table or a chart?

You’ll find a complete set of tools for editing and formatting the same. Inserting an image into a document? The Ribbon contains everything you need to resize, color correct, wrap text around, or otherwise format that image. If you’d rather not use the Ribbon, you can hide it.

While initially the Ribbon may seem daunting to master, in practice I found that I wasn’t wasting time looking for the tools I needed to get my work done. And because you’re able to hide the Ribbon, you can get it out of the way when all you want to work with are words.

Enterprise-level tools

Word 2011 has significantly improved collaboration tools, making it obvious that Microsoft now considers Word for Mac, and thereby the Mac itself, to be an enterprise-level work tool. Word 2011 includes support for Microsoft SharePoint, SkyDrive, simultaneous document editing, the option to communicate with others while you edit documents together, and improves the control you have over the kinds of rights users have to review and edit documents. This security feature requires that you use Microsoft’s Information Rights Management (IRM) tools, which also means that you’ll need a volume license edition of Office 2011 and a Microsoft Rights Management server, but the upside is that you’ll have much finer control over what other users can do with the documents you create. This includes setting expiration dates for documents and controlling whether the contents of a document can be printed, edited, or copied.

Additionally, if you save your documents to Microsoft’s SkyDrive, or if your business is using SharePoint Foundation for 2010 Enterprise, you have access to the Word Web App. So by using any supported Web browser (Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer), you can access and edit your documents via the Web. I could view documents on an iPad, but I could not use the Word Web App to edit them, at least not at this point in time.

Document tools

If you’re accustomed to using Word to create not only basic word processing documents, but also the brochures, menus, meeting minutes, calendars, proposals, and posters you use to do business, Word 2011 offers a large collection of professionally designed templates, as well as many more that are created by and shared with other Office users. While I still don’t find Word’s Publishing Layout tools to be as easy or intuitive to use as those offered in Apple’s Pages ’09 ( Macworld rated 4 out of 5 mice ), when it comes to wholesale customization of these templates, Word has some distinct advantages over Pages.

At the top of that list is Microsoft’s Themes. Themes, which you can use with both word processing and desktop publishing documents, take advantage of the Styles used in a document, allowing you to make instantaneous changes to fonts, paragraphs, colors, and other layout elements simply by selecting a new theme. Word 2011 ships with over 50 layout themes, but you can also create custom themes to turn a generic Word template into something that’s unique to you and your business.

Another excellent feature is full-on Spotlight integration and a new Spotlight-inspired tool for finding and replacing text in a document. You’ll now see a search field at the top of every document that, when you type a word in the field, highlights every instance of that word in your document

Word 2011 now has a built-in equation editor that makes it easy to add and edit mathematics equations. The equation editor, which appears as an Equation Tools Ribbon when you add an equation to your document, gives Word a leg up on Pages, which requires that you buy MathType for the same functionality.

Word 2011 has a few other welcomed improvements and additions. Office 2011 also marks the reintroduction of Visual Basic for Applications, which means that Word is no longer limited to Automator and AppleScript for automation. There’s better organization of the tools you use to manage footnotes, endnotes, and bibliographies, and a new customizable, distraction-free full screen mode. This full screen mode is similar to what you’ll find in Pages or other word processors like Hog Bay Software’s WriteRoom.

While the differences between these modes in these different applications is negligible, Word does offer a unique read-only mode that makes it easier for you to see, read, and navigate through all the pages in your document. This read-only mode also allows you to view all the changes made by the different authors that have worked on a document if you have Word’s track changes feature turned on.

Speaking of track changes, there’s always the question as to how well Word’s track changes feature works and how well documents shared between Mac and Windows versions retain formatting and paragraph styles. While I wasn’t able to do any extensive cross-platform testing, in the limited testing I was able to do, I did not have any issues with formatting, paragraph styles, tables, or images added to documents. You may run into issues if the fonts you have available on one computer are not available on the other computer. With regard to change tracking (again with limited testing), the only complaint I have is Word 2011 still does not track changes made to images that you add to your documents.

In benchmark tests performed by Macworld Lab, Word 2011 was much faster than Word 2008 at opening a file; in our Scroll and Save File test, the times were closer. We’ll have more benchmark results in an upcoming lab report.

Bit.Trip Presents.. Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, generally shortened as Runner2, is a 2013 side-scrollingplatformer developed by Gaijin Games. The game is the direct sequel to Bit.Trip Runner and has been released as a downloadable title available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Wii U consoles, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux and on iOS. The PC, Mac, Linux, and Wii U versions were self-published by Gaijin Games, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were published by Aksys Games.

Cutscenes and menus are narrated by Charles Martinet.

While Runner2 has a lot in common with its predecessor, its polygonal graphics mark a significant departure from past entries in the Bit.Trip series. In an interview with Push Square, Gaijin Games co-founder Mike Roush cited the studio’s urge to “spread its wings a bit” as the inspiration behind the change.[1]

Runner2 has been well received by video game critics.[2] The game received a sequel, Runner3, for the Nintendo Switch and PC platforms in 2018.

Gameplay[edit]

Runner2 is divided into five themed worlds, each with fourteen regular levels and five bonus stages for a grand total of ninety-five. The goal of each level is to guide the chosen character to the end of the level without striking an obstacle or falling off the screen. The character runs automatically, and in order to arrive safely at the finish, the player must perform various simple actions such as jumping, sliding and kicking, as well as more complex moves including hanging from rails, deflecting projectiles with a shield, and slide-kicking.[3] Most obstacles require the player to perform one specific action to survive—jumping over ground-based enemies, sliding under hovering enemies or fireballs (which fly at head height), kicking stop-sign walls—although the player can either deflect the square 'beat' blocks to earn points or simply slide under them. If the player hits an obstacle (including failing to jump and thus running into a wall) or falls off the screen, the game rewinds to the beginning of the level. Runner2 introduces checkpoints halfway through normal levels and after each phase of a boss level; if the player suffers a 'bonk' after hitting a checkpoint, the game rewinds to that checkpoint. The game has very mild penalties for failure: it does not track lives, so the player can fail a level as many times as necessary to beat it. It does reset the rewound area, so the player must collect gold bars and mode upgrades again, and it does track the total number of player bonks and ratio of bonks to level completions, though this only affects players curious enough to look at the stats page.

Although it shares the auto-running style of its predecessor, the game also boasts several new features. There’s a glide move that enables the character to travel further while jumping, a loop-the-loop that challenges the player to twirl their analog stick in tandem with the character’s placement on the circle, diamond-shaped structures that task the player with pressing buttons at the correct time, and a dance move. The glide move proves necessary to make many of the game's jumps. The loop-the-loop and diamond structures simply award players bonus points for good timing, with no way to suffer a hit. Dancing earns the player bonus points but causes the character to ignore other inputs, such as jumping and ducking, for the approximately half second the dance animation takes, meaning the player must carefully time their dancing to maximize points while not crashing into obstacles. As noted above, the game also introduces checkpoints at the halfway mark of each level. These take the form of crossbars which the player may run into, allowing them to continue at that point rather than the beginning of the level, or jump over, which does not set the rewind marker but does award bonus points. If a player manages to gather every gold bar and mode upgrade in a level, they’re provided a chance to shoot the character into a large target from a cannon. The closer the character lands to the center, the more points the player receives. Hitting the bulls-eye earns the player a Perfect+ ranking for the level, the goal of some of the in-game challenges as well as achievements or trophies.

Costumes and alternate characters[edit]

Runner2 also boasts a variety of unlockables, such as additional costumes and new characters (including Unkle Dill, CommandgirlVideo, Whetfahrt Cheeseborger, Reverse Merman, Pitazo, CaptainVideo, and retro CommanderVideo). Costumes are hidden in treasure chests scattered throughout the game, whereas new characters are earned by completing certain levels. The player simply needs to run into a treasure chest to claim it, and they keep it even if they suffer a hit later in the level. In some levels, giant locks protect the path to the treasure chest. The player must first complete the Key Vault level in that world to make keys appear, then replay such levels to collect the key and chest.

Retro levels[edit]

Similar to its predecessor, Runner2 is home to several retro levels, which unlock when players uncover hidden Famicom cartridges. Collecting a cartridge immediately ends the level; in some cases the player must collect a key and open a lock guarding the path which contains the cartridge. While the retro levels of Runner were inspired by the Atari 2600 era of gaming, Runner2's retro levels are more reminiscent of the 8-bit era.[citation needed]

Development and release[edit]

Runner2 was released as a downloadable title for the Wii U on the Nintendo eShop and on Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux via Steam on February 26, 2013. It was then released on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade the next day.[4] The game was released on the PlayStation Network on March 5, 2013.[5] Although all versions are generally the same, the Wii U version offers the added ability of playing on the Wii U GamePad with the Off TV Play function. The developers also confirmed that because Wii U is the newest platform with the most memory, it has the best overall load times of any of the consoles.[6]

Later releases[edit]

The game is also available on iOS, PS Vita and PS4. The iOS version was released on October 31, 2013. Said version is entitled Bit.Tip Run and very similar to the console version. The developer has already promised an update for the iOS version, which features GameCenter achievements and leaderboards, virtual controls, a better in-game shop and more levels.

Downloadable content[edit]

A 'Good Friends' DLC pack was released on Steam on July 11, 2013, with a release for the console versions to follow. The DLC adds six characters from various titles, including Dr. Fetus from Super Meat Boy, Josef from Machinarium, Quote from Cave Story, Raz from Psychonauts, and the Spelunker from Spelunky, along with an invisible Commander Video skin.[7] Atlas from Portal 2 is a Steam-exclusive character.

Audio[edit]

Like the rest of the Bit.Trip series, Runner2's music is a pivotal part of the experience. There’s a sound associated with every action, which allows the player to contribute to the soundtrack as they progress. Chiptune artist Disasterpeace provided the music for the game’s retro stages, and Petrified Productions provided the rest of the soundtrack. Promotion[edit]

Prior to its release, Gaijin Games promoted Runner2 with several gameplay videos, character announcements, and frequent updates on their blog.[8] In one post, the studio asked its readers to try their hand at naming levels in the game;[9] in another, they discussed the nature of development transparency, and the merits of keeping fans and press in the loop over the course of a game’s creation.[10]

In one of the more well-publicized reveals, Gaijin Games co-founder Alex Neuse informed Joystiq that the team was keeping track of how many beers they consumed over the course of development.[11]

Runner2 was met with positive reviews. IGN called it “one of the finest music games ever made,” [20] and referred to the synchronicity of the music and gameplay as trance-inducing. GameSpot similarly praised the soundtrack and gameplay, stating that “you feel like you’re reacting instinctually with button presses before you consciously realize what you’re doing.”[21] Neal Ronaghan of the Nintendo World Report referred to it as “one of the best side-scrolling platformers in recent memory,”[26] citing in particular its visuals and gameplay.

Chris Plante of Polygon enjoyed Runner2's inviting nature, calling it a game “everyone can play.”[27]Destructoid’s Kyle MacGregor stated that, although he was apprehensive of Runner2's departure from the Bit.Trip series’ trademark retro graphics, he’d “come to prefer the new look.” [28] He also said that it felt “like a very natural progression for the series,” and that “Runner2 is a marvelous platformer that just about anyone should be able to enjoy.”

Most shortcuts that use the Ctrl key on a Windows keyboard also work with the Control key in Excel 2011 for Mac.

All the shortcut keys in this article refer to the US keyboard layout. Keys for other layouts will not correspond exactly to the keys as on a US keyboard.

Note: Sometimes a shortcut requires pressing two or more keys at the same time. To notify this we have used a “+” sign as a separator. If there are more than one shortcuts for one common action, they are given after the “,”.

It might happen that some function keys doesn’t work as they need to, then you need to press the FN key in addition to the function key.

You can change your Apple system preferences if you don’t want to press the FN key each time.
