The Mancunian Skies are blue, but there’s only one day left to send us your #summersnapshots. This entry comes from Classical Studies student Kate Miller, who claims to be at Hadrian’s Wall, though the absence of the traditional Horizontal Sleet is making us suspicious...

Our much-missed colleague Ian Goh (@iklg2) sent us this #summersnapshot from Santorini.  (We thought he’d left us to join @BirkbeckHCA, but now we’re wondering if he’s decided to start a new life as a God (/Hero/Warrior/Philosopher)...)

More #summersnapshots from Clah Finalist Robert Wright, who found a Suspicious Horse lingering outside Troy, and, at Pergamum, some columns, a sunbathing tortoise, and ‘the deadliest theatre in the ancient world’

A #summersnapshot submission, from @anneypat Anna Patterson in Sunny Spain: “Cartagena (New Carthage) was amazing, the amphitheatre and forum were very impressive. As was the paella. The second largest remaining amphitheatre in Spain was breathtaking from not only the back, but also standing on the reconstructed wooden stage. I had a go at projecting my voice.”

#clahsummersnapshots are back!
Clah Students!  Keep an eye out for Classical and Ancient Historical things while you’re trotting the globe or meandering by the Medlock this summer, and send us your #clahsummersnapshots.  Big Prizes to be won! (Check your UoM email for T&Cs...) We’ve already had some Giant Neapolitan Statues, and a Greek god up to no good at the United Nations: can you do better...?

Spring time, and an Ancient Historian’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of Malodorous Fish Sauce: Prof Parkin and Dr Bell have been in Portugal, exploring the garum factories of Troia.  (What’s wrong with Vimto Chutney, eh?)

Clah Students! There's one week left to submit your #summersnapshots to our competition. Here's one from Dan Prince, who's swapped his Latin grammar for a Hungarian textbook, but couldn't resist the late-Roman lure of this 4th century Christian burial chamber (in Pécs: Latin Sopianae).

Dr Malik raises the tone (thank goodness) of the #summersnapshots, with this sighting in the Bode Museum.  (It's a marble gambling machine from Constantinople.  But you already knew that, of course...)

Dr Liddel is celebrating A-Level results day with a blast on the Myconian Bagpipes. (Luckily for us, though not for Naxos [pictured in the background], he's currently a few thousand miles away from Oxford Road.) Congratulations, and welcome, to everyone who'll be joining us in September!
