One of the most popular video of 2018 has been trending through social media. The Walmart kid started trending throughout the internet. Social media had enhanced the video by spreading it out through the world. The video is basically about a yodeling kid singing in Walmart a song about a lonely lover that lost his girl. It became so popular by the way the kid sings the song that it became funny and entertaining to others. The kids name is Mason Ramsey is an 11-year-old from Harrisburg, Illinois. He was trying to impress other fellow customers in the store.  He gave an impromptu performance near the checkout aisles of the store. The way he was dressed wearing nice boots, a cowboy belt buckle, a white shirt with a red bowtie. He began to yodel the song “Lovesick Blues” by Hank Williams.  The video became viral when a person from the audience tweet it on their twitter page. Since then a lot of people have been reposting the video and that is when Ramsey started to dominate the internet. Many are impressed of his yodeling voice for the good but many are looking at the video differently. The way that the public likes the video is because they find it funny by the way the kid sings a certain part of the lyric. The part where he says “She’ll do me, she’ll do you, she got that kind of loving. Lord I love to hear it when she called me sweet Daddy, such a beautiful dream”.  That is when everyone started to get the kids attention. The way the kid yodeled “Daddy” was different. He made his voice go to different vocal ranges, making it sound as if it was like a moan. The way the public is now taking it in a sexual way, making the video into a sexual joke. From then on the social media has started to create memes, vines remixes and many different posts as well as about their “relationships” with the main content of the word Daddy. That is what started to become funny because they took it in a dirty way that it caused everyone to think of it dirty now. The first time I saw this video was on Twitter. A girl that went to my high school had retweeted the post explaining a sexual joke about it. I was shocked at what I had watched because the first thing I though with the comment and the quote “daddy”, it made you think of it in a dirty way. That is what I thought that the video was funny. The was the kid uses different notes and the way he crescendos is voice made it funny. As well as his body movement was when he said that part made it funny. Since then,I keep seeing that video with many different memes and jokes throughout every social media every single day. Ramsey is a great yodeler, yet since this was so unique, it became popular and everyone seemed to enjoy the clip.

The Inbetweeners is a British comedy sitcom about four awkward high school boys who want to “fit in” in their life. But their life usually is ends up failing. The show has a sense of humor that can make it reliable to many teenagers. They all want to seem cool and trying to impress and get many girls as they can. There hormones and body are uncontrollable which makes them even more awkward that they are supposed to. The show contains awkward situations between them which makes it funny. The show contains incongruity theory. There are unexpected things happening in the show that makes it funny. For example, there was a time where one of the character’s named Simon, just got his driver’s license. He was excited that his parents got him a surprise. They bought him a car, although the car was yellow and it looked like a taxi. He thought it was going to be a mustang but it was a small yellow car. He took it over to his friends to see what they thought of it and they replies with” it was at least something you can drive”. When they were driving around the block, their high school jocks stopped and throwed their food at the car. They also tried to flirt with other girls who were driving next to them but they just laughed at their faces. Later, they arrived at the amusement park and one of Simon’s friends opened the door and they hit their car door at a pole. Simon was upset and the door complete fell off. He was panicking which made it funnier because of the irony he was going through. He just got the car as a present and now he destroyed it. He tried to take the car door at the amusement park but they didn’t let him in. After enjoying the amusement park, he went back to his car and they saw his car even more vandalized. There was trash inside the car and spray painted inside the car. At the end he had to call his Dad what happened and you can tell that the Dad got upset. This is funny because it was unexpected that his car was going to torn down and get vandalized. This gives a sense of ethos. It gives a sense of emotion because there is a pity for them. You can actually feel their pity for each of the characters.  They all try to become someone cooler than they aren’t. They try to be slick and smooth with others, but they all know they aren’t. They are the “losers” of the school. This is part of an adolescence experience. They all want to seem cool and not seemed as misfits. It is a challenge for them to become part of the crowd and want everyone to like them back. It is all part of a teenagers life and it is easy relatable to a bunch of youth which is why it makes it funny.

“I got bronchitis, ain’t nobody got time for that”. Those words became so popular after the news report went viral. The video consists of a lady being filmed after her house was catching on fire. It looked like a normal report, but they way that lady was describing her situation was hilarious. She looked nervous but she had a tone in her voice that made it funny. She described it happened, stating “Say, oh lord Jesus, it’s a fire” and then explaining how she didn’t grabbed a pair of shoes and she ran for her life. You can totally imagine this happening. This became even funnier when someone made a remix song of this video. The song fits perfectly well and it is very catchy. They place little cuts of different videos to make that song/video more entertaining for the audience. There is a bunch of people dancing awkwardly and pacing different clips of other videos that went viral before this video started to become popular. On the video they also clipped on a face of a previous popular video of “Hide you kids and hide your wife”. It is a great combination of videos that they placed on one. The video became popular to all age group because it wasn’t nothing offensive or bad. The reason why I found  this video funny was first because of the remix video was super catchy. I like the fact that someone was creative enough to make it into a catchy song and put super cringy video clips of others dancing to this song. It is weird but the good weird that you can show it off to anyone you know and you can laugh about it.  Also the way that she started talking about her recap of the house fire, she didn’t seem like if she was worried or sad like usual people are when their house is on fire. She puts so much emphasis on her tone, while she had a huge smile throughout her interview. At the end of her speaking, she ended it with a laugh. It makes it funny because the way she described her situation like if it was a normal. Which made the video start off with a positive impact. With the remix, it just made it better.

Vines are a series of videos that is only 6 seconds long. Vines have been popular from 2013 but then stopped after a period in 2017. Vines can be the funniest, random thing you can watch in a video. They can hold show something that has happen to us that can be relatable, someone doing an epic fail or someone doing the most awkward things you can imagine. For example, in the first video, it shows a little child playing Jenga. This child is slowly trying to pull the stick out as it comes all falling down towards the kid. This is funny because it can be somewhat relatable to anyone, for like lets say life I going well for you and you are almost accomplishing your needs, all of a sudden something hits you and destroys your motivation. That is what probably happened to the kid and that is how we can easily relate to it. The second video I the “Oh wait a minute Mr. Postman”. It shows a kid signing that song and at the end of the video he focuses the camera of an elderly man doing a random note as he is trying to sing with him. This video makes it funny because appears as random. It shows a bit of incongruity theory because the song is random and the way the elderly man expresses his singing and the way he gets into it makes it funny. The third video is the “It is Wednesday my dudes, AHHHH”. This video shows more of the incongruity theory but it is also unexpected to see the way that man expresses himself with the day of Wednesday. He Is also shouting at the top of his lungs as he wears a Spiderman costume with goggles. The video Is funny because it shows something you don’t see every day. It is something different and we get to see someone express themselves differently on a video, especially about Wednesday. The las video I will explain about is the “Kid on Crack” video. There is a guy filming a kid that is shouting YEAH! And then hits himself with a ball and shouting even louder Yeah! In this video is funny because the kid does look like he is on “crack”. The way he is hurting himself and shouting and his face expressions it shows a different side of what we are used to in everyday life. As I was saying, Vines are the most random yet entertaining videos that makes them funny. We usually don’t see this in our everyday lives and it is a great way to escape into weirdness.

This stand-up comedy is by the comedian George Lopez, called “Why You Crying?”. This stand-up show was filmed in the early 2000’s. In this scene of the show, he explains the difference between the Mexican and the white family when they punish their child by hitting them. He explains the difference because in the Hispanic culture it is seen as “normal” to discipline your child in that way. In the stereotype “white” culture, it is mostly seen as child abuse. It is funny to me because it is easily relatable for me. How George Lopez acts in this skit it is exactly how Hispanic mothers react. With the same motions and his tone of voice, it feels like if I am getting in trouble by mother. The way George Lopez gets the audience engage is because many of his fans are Latino. They all laugh because they can easily relate to this because that is how most of the Latino population were raised, with cruel and harsher tone mothers. With also at the other part of the skit, he explains how the kid was wanting to go to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday and so the mother replies to him was “If you want to see the mouse, you should just open the fridge door and one will pop out. There you go son, Happy Birthday.” This is an exact repose that a Latino mother would reply to their children. There is a saying that Latinos are really cheap and try to save extra money by replacing something with an off brand or something that works as good as it. In this scene the mother prefers to explain his son that if he wants to see an actual rat, he should go open the fridge. This is relatable to me because when I was younger, I lived in that environment and usually had to put up with those type of commentary. In this stand-up show of George Lopez, it is funny because it is relatable to the Latino culture and they have had that type of experience sometime in their lives.

Tyler the Creator created a show called Loiter Squad on Adult Swim, where there is an episode he is doing a parody of a show of COPS called PO-PO. They were making fun of the show by trying to imitate it by doing the exact same thing. In this video, it starts with two African- American cops introducing themselves and telling a brief joke about their personal lives and as they are walking through the park to see if there is anything suspicious. That is when they found out that there was a group of Caucasians selling drugs as they run off. They grab one of the guys and then all of a sudden, a bunch of cops pop out of the bushes as they celebrate one of the cops 100 time drug catch. They pull out a cake as they celebrate meanwhile the guy was on the ground as he had a confused expression. This part they placed incongruity theory as this was an unexpected part of the show because on the actual show, they don’t show that they celebrate how many times a cop has caught a drug dealer. At the end , it shows the cops shooting the dealer and a cop placing a gun on top of the dealers back to say he was the one that started the shooting and the cops were “trying to protect themselves”. This episode shows on the opposite perspective on actual police brutality. Usually the cops are white and the dealer is black, but on this episode all the cop were African-American. As well as how the dealer was mostly surrounded by whites males that were also trying to sell the drug but they ran away. Also on recent news, cops are the ones that start shooting to “defend” themselves meanwhile the accuser is not doing any threat, which can lead to a shooting and killing the person. It reflects a lot on what is happening though the generation. This can be Benign Violation Theory because it is a type of humor that occurs when something seems wrong, unsettling on threatening. Tyler’s videos are mainly this kind of theory which makes him popular by it.

Blueberries
I like to watch videos on YouTube when I have free time. Recently this week, I was watching old videos that went viral on YouTube years back. I watched the one called Blueberries. It started with the girl presenting her ingredients, then her little sister tried to control her older sister as the video was recording. As she was mixing the ingredients of the bowl, her little sister kept repeating the ingredients and that is when she said “Blueberries, you forgot the blueberries.” And her big sister replied to her saying “I did say blueberries”. The little girl started jumping up and down, shouting “Blueberries! Blueberries” and the immediately the bowl fell on top of her face and her sister looks at the camera all shocked. What this video was presenting is that the video was unexpected that the bowl of fruit would be on her. It just randomly flipped over, plus with her sisters face reaction, it made it funny. It was sort of mean at the same time because you can hear the little girl crying in the end of the video. I just feel that the emotions going through the video from a positive reaction , watching her dance and sing to immediate negativity of her crying just made it funny. This can be seen as mean or others might feel sad about what had happened to the little girl but that is what makes it funny. This shows us the Incongruity theory, which describes a surprise, unexpected reaction. You can immediately relate to this because we all have a sibling that might have done the same thing. They also edit the video at the end to make it in slow motion as they repeated the video , going slower and slower each time they showed it. As the video becomes slower, it becomes more funnier each time you watch it. You can see the detail of the older sisters reaction as she became shocked of what happened. Also this is even funny because the bowl just randomly fell on top of her like as if a ghost were telling her to be quiet. The little girl might be found as annoying , so there is another point that made it even funnier. It made her shut up. This video was famous a few years ago and it will continue to remain funny.
