summary: There is a new trend in TikTok, and Tom is even more adorable than expected.

warnings: unedited story, possible grammatical errors, fluffy, silly because I wrote it while bored on TikTok.

The room still smelled of floral soap, mint, and fresh cherries, the perfect convergence of the scents that Tom and Y/N used to emanate after bathing. The night was starry, soft, and it was possible to hear the sound of crickets and rustling leaves even inside the house the couple had shared since the beginning of the quarantine, situated on the perimeters of a rather reserved and restricted west London neighborhood.

Tom was relaxing between white sheets, leaning on his girlfriend's legs while humming the instrumental of Smells Like Teen Spirit, still focused on answering e-mails and messages that alternated between important notes from his management and calls for online performances and interviews. Y/N, propped up on soft pillows that smelled of scented water and lavender softener, scrolled through different applications tediously, stopping only to enjoy the posts of some fans and videos of cute animals that periodically appeared in her feed.

The girl who had won Tom Holland's heart, as she was often recognized by the media, had gone from being an anonymous medical student to a major influence on the young and teenage public. Y/N was Tom's girlfriend, however, above all she was a personality to follow; being charismatic was part of her essence, and fans as well as tabloids loved it when she shared a part of her day with the world.

Before the days became so similar, Y/N liked to share her routine in college, the study table occupied only by colored post-its, pens, and anatomy books. She wasn't very good with makeup, knowing only the basics, but she was committed to teaching what she knew to anyone willing to learn. Y/N did not crave fame, and going viral on an app with over 1.5 billion monthly users was not something that was exactly on her timeline. The pandemic, social isolation, and all of its related acts did not offer her many alternatives, however, borning there the incessant search for an effective strategy of distraction, the new social network seeming to stand out among the countless internet users.

Y/N then suddenly had nearly thirty million followers on TikTok. The content of her videos wandered through different strands, ranging from "understand the importance of vaccination" to "Tom Holland will teach you how to make the best tea in the world." She was very smart, of course, and her informative videos always garnered great acclaim and thanks from those who fought to spread the word about the care that should be taken even inside the home. Everyone loved Y/N and her explanatory and didactic videos, but it was impossible to contain the euphoria of the internet whenever Tom appeared in a relaxed capture, exuding an adorable domesticity.

They were the "perfect couple," said fans, media and all those TikTok followers. Even though the Y/N profile was created in the purpose of passing on knowledge, of course some people would not settle down until the girl's personal life was also a recurring theme in the daily videos. Tom didn't mind, and neither did she. It was a good distraction, which gave her good ideas for jokes on a saturday night.

Finding trends at TikTok was always a good escape from monotony. Y/N had already challenged her boyfriend to embarrassing dances – despite "consoling" him with the argument that nothing there could top his iconic performance on Lip Sync Battle –, suspicious recipes, and clichéd videos starring couples. Now, while exploring the app in search of any entertainment that would dispel the boredom, Y/N found the remedy that would cure her restlessness.

It was a new trend where lovely men were outraged to hear their girlfriends question their own beauty; "I hate being so ugly," the girls would say in a voice charged with fake disgust, being instantly contradicted by their lovers.

Y/N learned to be confident over time, but just like everyone else, she carried her own insecurities in places few people knew about. Tom was a complete package, he made her feel beautiful and loved 24/7, even when he was an ocean away, and so the idea of surprising him with a statement as abrupt and insolent as that seemed too good to reject.

Raising herself slightly until she was properly propped against the headboard, Y/N adjusted her posture on the pillows while ignoring Tom's grumbles at her sudden movement. The girl started the recording covertly, introducing the video at the exact moment her boyfriend left a quick kiss on her calf before shifting her attention back to his laptop again, keeping his left hand on her leg, stroking the warm skin with his thumb.

As soon as she felt she was ready and that she wouldn't ruin it with laughter or out of pity for Tom and his confused little eyes, Y/N sighed loudly, dramatically, and that was enough to set off red alerts in the brit's head.

"What?" The actor asked worried, staring at his girlfriend over his shoulder.

"Nothing." Y/N said quickly, keeping her eyes on her cell phone as if she were reading something that appeared on the screen. "I just– I hate being so ugly."

Tom gasped, setting his laptop aside to face her properly.

"What?" He stammered, sounding completely horrified. "Who said that? Who said you're ugly?

Y/N shook her shoulders, refusing to lift her gaze because she knew she would give up as soon as she met Tom's eyes on her.

"Nobody needs to tell you something I already know, Tommy."

The young man with brown curls shook his head, pursing his lips. The laptop had already been completely forgotten, left aside near the edge of the bed.

Tom crawled through the sheets, laying his head on Y/N's stomach, still completely unaware about the recording.

"You're not like this because of your period, right? The calendar on my cell phone says it's supposed to arrive only next week."

Nodding negatively, Y/N bit her lips, holding back the urge to laugh and at the same time inhibiting the desire to scream to the world about how adorable Tom Holland could be.

"You're fucking beautiful, dear." Tom said softly, taking Y/N's free hand to get her attention. Finally staring at him, she smiled with her lips still closed, lifting her shoulders again.

"When we share the same space, I can't look at or hold a conversation with anyone else because I can only keep my attention on you. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you're in a fancy dress to accompany me to some award ceremony or in your pajamas during your quarantine days, just playing on the carpet with Tess, you're still so beautiful that I simply can't focus on anything else." He sighed, seeming to feel embarrassed at what he was about to say. "You came into the room wearing duck pajamas while I was giving an interview to Jimmy last week, remember? I don't know if you watched it or if you saw it online, but of course everyone knew that you were the reason for my distraction and I became a meme everywhere, and there was also that day–"

Y/N left her cell phone aside right after sending the video to her profile, kissing her boyfriend before he could even finish the story.

Tom didn't understand the confusing signals very well, but that didn't stop him from reciprocating with the same intensity all the love that Y/N deposited in that kiss. The girl smiled several and several times during the act, making the brit reciprocate even though he didn't know what was so funny.

"Why don't you kiss me like that every time I compliment you?" He joked, giving a pout.

"You are too adorable for your own good." Y/N said as she walked away, tucking back some curls that fell across his forehead. The girl had become the actor's official hairdresser during the quarantine, but after discovering that she liked her curls, from pulling them during heated activities, Tom had begun to give the scissors a break, "and now the whole internet will know about it."

Raising one of his eyebrows, Tom stared at her in confusion, groaning as soon as he recognized the amused smile his girlfriend had on her lips.

"TikTok." He said simply, hiding his face in Y/N's neck as he was answered with a positive nod, blushing. "I hate that app."
