I would rather Remy remain dead and be at peace than see him wake up inside his coffin and have to claw his way out or be removed from his grave by whoever the main villain is.

I’ve seen a few theories that Rogue might seek out the Scarlet Witch to bring Remy back (or SW resurrects him by accident) but that just makes me think of when Buffy died and her friends resurrected her, but they’d actually ripped her out heaven and whole thing was just one big ball of trauma.

I love Romy but I can’t see any way of bringing Remy back that isn’t going to be incredibly damaging to all parties involved.

I really do want him to remain dead but there are two problems

1: Rogue needs some sort of closure because of his death

2: He died still thinking that he wasn’t a hero

Despite what Kurt said I still don’t believe that he died thinking he was a hero. They could just ignore the second but I’m still curious on what is going to happen with Rogue. I pray I pray I pray that Erik is not the one to give her that comfort because as I have said multiple times before I do not like their relationship

Rogue and Gambits relationship in the original is just an endless cycle

In the original Rogue and Gambit got jealous over the other’s relationships, like with Bella Donna and Cody but Rogue and Erik are a little different. Remy and Rogue always found their way back to each other, they never started an official relationship but after they leave their sort of partner there is always a romantic tension with them whether it be them touching each other while walking away or just comforting each other

To Rogue this endless just always finding your way back to Remy but still not being able to be with him was just getting too old. As much as they would both love a relationship to Rogue she doesn’t believe that they are capable of being in one. That scene before that dance with Remy was her finally cutting things off with him because they can’t just be doing the same things, they can’t go on forever doing this but never being in a relationship

To Remy as much as his actions could be interpreted as “waiting for her” they don’t know and honestly do not believe that she will be able to touch anybody so his only option to be with the love is his life is desperately try to convince her that you don’t need intimacy. I feel like with the scenes of them leading up to episode 5 it is Remy realizing that this may be different from Cody. Erik most likely will not turn into a bug alien and Rogue will not come flying back to him. We know for sure that Rogue and Gambit would most definitely start a relationship if Rogue learned to control her powers but from Remy’s point of view that is never. He knows that she doesn’t think they can be in a relationship if they can’t touch and despite his efforts he probably won’t be able to convince her. It has worked in his favor that no other relationships have worked out but in ‘97 it kicked in that this can’t just go on forever

I just love tragic love stories where the main problem is something that the characters can’t control so it makes it all that much worse. Everyone is saying that Cable will fix the timeline but I just don’t think that’s going to happen unless there is some big sacrifice for it to work. Since the main villain is Bastion I don’t think they’re going to do death Gambit with apocalypse. The only way I could see Gambit coming back is with a sentinel Gambit but with how important his death is supposed to be I wouldn’t be surprised if he never came back. I’m just interested in who or what Rogue will get closure from because she most definitely needs it. Anyways~ sorry for going off at the end but yeah I firmly believe that Gambit is gone and I honestly like the choice, what do you think will happen with Gambit?

I’ve said this so many times but I firmly believe Rogue does not love Erik. I keep seeing fanart and people romanticizing them and did we watch the same show??? Because their relationship on my screen was not healthy at all???

I love how in x-men evolution they just invite a lot of people to the institute like “yeah it’s just a safe place for mutants where you can learn to control your powers” then they send them off on a jet to go risk their lives in another country

While I understand people poke fun at everything without much meaning seeing people write off Rogue’s character as just a player or a dare I say… “bop” actually makes me so frustrated. It really shows that some people just are not able to comprehend and understand a complicated female character. Honestly I didn’t think it was a mind boggling crazy insane and confusing character arc but seeing actual grown men just writing off her character as some stupid girl who just wants sex is crazy to me

I just heard someone say “well people are saying Rogue is sad but Gambits story is just as bad because he couldn’t touch Rogue and he stayed loyal unlike her” and ehhhhhh welllll ermmmmm no exactlyyyyy. While Rogue and Gambit have never cheated on each other they’ve never been afraid to be with other people while they are broken up, Gambit definitely more so. Not even just the people he slept around with in the comics but in the X-men animated series he flirted with other people all the time and went out a lot. As much as I’m sure Gambit is hurting that he can’t touch and wishing they could be together he’s not just sitting around while she realizes her feelings. TOOO BAD HES DEAD NOW

As much as I want death Gambit I don’t really mind Gambit dying. I hear people saying that they’re going to drop the show if Gambit stays dead but I think this could be really good. It’s shown that his death is going to be a very big deal for the next few episodes and especially Rogue. People are saying that Marvel would never kill a character permanently but they do all the time, just not in 616. This is 92131 and like all alternate earths they don’t follow the same story and kill people all the time. If you want to see Gambit alive just read the comics or watch any of the other shows where he’s alive. Sorry if it sounds like I’m just saying “suck it up” but suck it up because 616 Gambit is alive and well

Whilst I think Death Gambjt will be the way it goes - mostly because of how it’s Rogue that eventually brings Remy back to himself (still not sure how that will work seeing as he’s actually dead dead…) but I would like to see New Sun Gambit. Whilst most of the mutants in the X men crave either more power or want to make their powers bigger and better, Remy has always been very content with his. He could be an Omega level mutant blowing up planets and fighting the Phoenix but he chose to keep his powers to a fraction of what their capable of.

Forcing him to be this Omega level threat agains his will would be a very interesting storyline and goes along with a lot of Remys origin story. A lot of things are forced on him due to other peoples lies and manipulation, everything he thought was choice was really the result of what someone else wanted.

New Sun can also time travel to an extent so Remy could effectively save himself, or chose to save himself, and go back in time rather than it be forced upon him. Anyways, I just hope they do my boy justice!

I think this is very interesting and would be very cool to see. I have been speculating what the big thing would be because we’ve seen Apocalypse multiple times in the original so something like this would bring something very new, like a phoenix saga type thing but with Gambit. Now I don’t know exactly how they would go about this and I don’t think they will but this is a very interesting thought

I want death for both Magneto and Gambit

A lot of people think that Gambit will be saved by Cable but I just don’t think that’s going to happen. He already tried once and I don’t think it would make much sense story wise to just have him go back and do it again. Plus with the sense of urgency he had I believe that he isn’t able to

I think the most likely possibility is that Gambit becomes death. If he is saved from this then it would add a lot to his character and introduce a lot of good moments for him and Rogue

Apocalypse has always been the X-men’s big bad so it would make a lot of sense for him to be the sole focus of 8-10 but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they brought in a twist villain. The original covered most of their main villains so they could take the easy nostalgia route with a bunch of old villains or go with something a little more risky

Now onto Magneto, I just want him to die. Not even because I dislike how they portrayed his character in ‘97 with how he treats Rogue but I just think he needs to die. He has a little more to prove with his character so I don’t think he’s dead yet but after that I want him to die. I think that killing off somebody would just complete this show and honestly that old man needs a break from life

Overall, I want Gambit to become death and Erik to experience death. Maybe by death Gambit who knows

Probably my least favorite thing about Magneto in X-men ‘97 is the fact that he knows Rogue does not have feelings for him yet is still pursing her, and not even in a “I’m going to do sweet things” way but in a “I’m going to pressure this woman into marrying me by saying it’s for the good of a country filled with good” way

Why are X-men relationships so messy?

I want to mostly talk about Jean and Scott and Rogue and Gambit since the internet is getting mad at everyone in those four (except for Gambit)

Now the main reason these relationships are so messy is that it’s Marvel comics, hard to find someone thing not messy. They need an interesting story and they most definitely go the lengths to get exactly that

But I feel like another big reason is due to the isolation of mutants. They have not been able to go out and experience relationships to learn and grow

Now Jean and Scott have been together for a long time. Their romance started there day they first met and has since been going strong… well kinda. Both Scott and Jean have not dated other people and had the opportunity to grow for each other. Most relationships take the experience of past ones and use them to grow. While I can’t say the amount of drama is usual for people who have only been with the same person some of it makes sense when you put it in the marvel comics lens. I’m these ‘97 episodes Scott and Jean have been tested due to their immaturity when it comes to romance. While it could end any way I do still have hope for the two and believe that they will be able to overcome this because they are both very much in the wrong

Now I have talked A LOT about Rogue and Gambit but the more people I see talking smack about Rogue and calling her a “bop” the more I need to defend them. Now Gambit has definitely had much more experience when it comes to romance compared to Rogue and I feel like that’s where a lot of his understanding for her comes from. Unlike a lot of people on the internet he is able to be patient with her until she is able to understand her own feelings. While he would like to have a relationship with her he does understand the struggle that she is going through. Now that’s not to say Gambit is completely not in the wrong because his flirting in the original was just more reminders that she is not able to touch the man she loves. Now when it comes to Rogue she has the romantic maturity of a thirteen year old girl. I’m not even saying that as an insult she just hasn’t experienced a proper relationship since she was thirteen. We see her flirt with others but when it comes to an actual relationship that’s where we see her struggle in ‘97. Her whole world has revolved around not touching people and since she hasn’t gone out and been with people due to her thinking that she can’t be in a relationship without touching someone she hasn’t been able to learn that that’s not what a relationship is about. The only way she is able to learn that she doesn’t need this is if she has it… and of course that’s where Magneto and the dance comes in.

Now moving onto Magneto I mentioned this a little in my post about how toxic Rogue and his relationship is but it definitely feels like he’s taking advantage of Rogues romantic immaturity. Unlike Gambit he never tries to show her that there is more to a relationship than just intimacy he is just using the fact that she is so desperate for intimacy to get with her

I don’t know what my thing is with making a post right before a new episode comes out but it’s about Storm and Forge so maybe I’ll write something tomorrow morning
