Dealing with auditory processing disorder
LAWFUL: take the parts you heard and turn it into a clarifying question, e. g. "you saw your cousin where?" or "she's writing a what?"
NEUTRAL: "what did you say?"
CHAOTIC: take a wild stab at what the person said, e. g. "you want to baptize a mackerel?"

as someone whose missed T shots more than once***:
in the situation you described, what id do is either take it consistently on tuesdays from that point forward, or slowly meter things forward — take this shot tuesday, then wait 8 days instead of 7, so my next is on a wednesday. wait another 8 days, take it on thursday. continue that way until it lands on the day of the week that works best (saturday in your example), then keep it consistently on that day.
***not a doctor, not medical advice. just practical/prior-experience on the best way i found to deal with it then
how safe is it to miss t? /gen
i was just wondering since i havent heard anyone talk about it, all i know is youre meant to try to be regular
ty, i hope ur feeling ok!
It's obviously not ideal since hormone fluctuations can make your body go wacky, but it's not something to be overly concerned about. If you have health conditions that could be triggered or worsened by hormone fluctuations it might be more of a concern, but generaly it's not something you should freak out about if it happens. Missing one or two doses won't do anything serious to your transition, since HRT is about maintaining hormone levels over a long period of time; it took like 4 weeks for me to get cramps again, and you aren't gonna reverse any of the more major changes (the ones that ARE reversible, like weight redistribution) unless you miss a lot of doses
However something you absolutely should Not do is "make up" missed doses by taking twice as much T next time. That IS dangerous. If you miss a dose, either take it when you remember or wait until your next dose and take a normal amount. Also it's never a bad idea to check in with a doctor if you are worried about it or notice anything strange going on after missing one or more doses!

ok some days being visibly homo is the most wonderful thing in the world. an old woman walking her dog stopped to say hello to me and I asked if i could say hi to her dog. she seemed really excited and told me "his name is rupert brooke. i named him after a gay poet from the era of the first world war. he had red hair just like my dogs fur". then she leans in and whispers like she's divulging some great secret and says "i don't usually tell people about the gay part"

Signs of a heart attack are different for each gender yet we only really teach the male warning signs. Make sure you’re aware of both and spread it to as many other women as possible!

We just moved into a new house that has zero mirrors in it due to having needed to work on the bathrooms before the place was livable reasons, and not seeing my reflection for a week has made me reprioritize 'vampires don't show in mirrors' on my list of correct and good vampire traits.
I've always like vampires not showing in stuff, but it now feels necessary to the monster.
-Not seeing yourself has a depersonalizing effect that belongs in narratives concerned with othering.
-If i want to look nice at the moment, I have to trust my partner to make me up. Finding a second vampire is both threat and boon at every level.
-clinging to a selfie or portrait painting from when you were alive as a way to recognize and remember who you are, and slowly coming to recognize the image as a fully different being, someone who's dead.
It's not like people concerned with vampires don't play in this space, but, alongside sunlight, this often feels like one of the things jettisoned early. Especially in today's surveillance state, where it's Easy to lose control of one's image, that feels like a misstep.

if cis gay men can use she/her pronouns then trans gay men can too. cis gay people are not the only people who are gender non-conforming and trans gay men are more than allowed to use she/her. trans gay men are allowed to have a complex connection between their sexuality and their gender. trans gay men are allowed to be gnc too
