“A sword is the fangs and claws that the Federation doesn’t try to take away,” Chayanne says to Pepito.
The kid’s pretty good at imitating. That malleability was probably useful to the Federation. Chayanne hopes it’s useful to Pepito, too - that he’s helping the little one mold into something that Pepito actually WANTS to be.
“They probably think we’re too small and scared to use them,” Chayanne says. “But we’re going to make them regret it.”
Chayanne shows him how he lifts his own tail, how that changes his center of gravity.
“These are still our bodies,” he says. “They made us look like this, but they’re still us. We need to like them enough to use them well.”

There’s no crows when Chayanne descends at Pepito’s pond - just armored feet touching down and frosty feathers gleaming in the sun.
His shoulders are looser than normal as he lands, an itch having settled inside of him. Flying settles him, smoothes him out like nothing else.
…Swimming and adventuring seems to be doing the same for this little one. A pair of big eyes peek up from the pool, beneath beautiful wet coils of beautiful hair. Under the water, the kid’s scales seem to sparkle.
Chayanne grins, flashing fangs, and waves. “Hello, Pepito! I’ve got a delivery here of one warp stone?”

Okay. So, this island isn’t safe for baby dragons. There are a lot of things that want us to die. If you want to go out on your own you need special clothes that make it harder for you to get hurt and a special stone that’ll help you get away fast.
You should go home right now, but if you don’t do that, here are some tips:
One: Stay near buildings. Normal monsters won’t spawn if you’re somewhere with a lot of light.
Two: If you’re in the woods, stay where it’s sunny and be sure you always know where home is.
Three: If the sun starts to set, run home as fast as you can. Once it’s dark everywhere, the monsters can appear wherever they want.
