Monkie Kid boba keychains in progress! Amazing sketches are done by my partner, and I am doing lines and color! Once Red Son and Mei are done, the keychains will go up for pre-order on my Etsy! :) Hoping to have all of them done by the start of October, so keep an eye out for that ❤
I think there needs to be more stories about friends who are almost lovers. who are closer then anything in the world. who can read each others minds. who appreciate how beautiful and impressive the other is. and then have them absolutely destroyed by their own personal events and have that bond twist around like a broken electric cable until it snaps under the pressure of incompatible lives. and then that love turns to hate and then to a haunting.
No because every once in a while, I feel bad for Azure because "he just wanted to help people. He thought he was doing the right thing.🥺"
But then I remember the scene where Peng and Yellow Tusk get freed from the scroll and have a happy reunion with Azure 5 feet away from Mk who is having the worst day of his goddamn life. Azure's brothers were freed the same second Mk lost Wukong and his friends got their asses beat.
And then he was like "Mk😃! Come meet my brothers!!!"
Like bitch you just emotionally destroyed him. He doesn't care about your damn happiness and neither do I.
THIS was Azure putting his hand in the monkey cage. THIS is why Mk kicked his ass.

So initially, Wukong had no problem fighting the curse. Whether it looked like a monster or himself, he never thought twice about attacking. Didn't give a single shit:
But when it looked like MK?
He didn't move. HIS STAFF WASN'T EVEN RAISED.
He didn't help the others deal the finishing blow.
Yes he was staying with Mk to make sure he was okay but I find it strange how his staff wasn't even in sight to protect him.
Wukong is refusing to raise his staff against Mk. Whether it's actually him or not.
So we're all familiar with the trademark "Wukong and Mk side hug", right? Here's all of them:
So the first time Wukong hugged him like that was in the episode "Macaque". Which just so happens to be the only episode where Wukong and Mk had an argument.
An argument that Mk stormed away from.
Sound familiar? There's another time where Wukong got into an argument with someone and the other person stormed off:
But Wukong wasn't able to stop/go after him.
So the theory/observation is: What if Wukong hugs him like this because he's afraid Mk is going to leave him like Macaque did?
Every time Wukong hugs Mk like this, it's after an event that, in Wukong's eyes, should make Mk hate him.
First hug: Mk seeing him as a bad mentor and leaving him
Second hug: Mk not trusting Wukong after he messed up with Mei and the Samadhi Fire and leaving him
Third hug: Mk finding out what happened between Wukong, Macaque, and The Brotherhood and leaving him.
And every time, Mk proves him wrong by staying by his side.
The hug is Wukong's way of saying "okay he's still here with me. He doesn't think I'm a bad person. He's here."
