Remember that post about Pokémon's villains together being a bunch of random dudes in a suit and Ghecis being, well, Ghecis?
I took the liberty to update it, it's just getting funnier

I saw your Scarlet and Violet theory and I wanted to know your thoughts on this. The Scarlet dex entries for the Violet paradoxes all suggest that they were from some sort of paranormal magazine. To me that further proves that they’re just a figment of their imagination.
Here’s an example with Iron Hands dex entry from Scarlet:
It is very similar to a cyborg covered exclusively by a paranormal magazine. The cyborg was said to be the modified form of a certain athlete.
It’s almost like they’re crypids. No one knows if they exist and it’s only speculation.
First of all, thank you very much for sharing this with me!
I completely agree with you, in both games the Paradoxes of the opposite version are described in the Pokédex as creatures that are "suspiciously" similar to what is described in a paranormal magazine with no actual proof of existence or reliability whatsoever. Some of these are straight up conspiracy theories like Iron Moth being described as a UFO sent to spy on humanity in Pokémon Scarlet (LMAO). Another absurd example is Scream Tail described as existing one billion years ago while the first Pokémons that crossed the Earth (aside from Legendaries, of course), aka the Fossils, are dated 300 million years ago.
Tumblr media
We can clearly say that we cannot trust that magazine and nothing matches up at all, maybe the purpose itself of this infamous and dubious magazine is to raise a red flag for the player alongside Arven's line about everything not adding up with the time machine.
So yeah, I believe that us "the Paradoxes are figments of imagination" believers are on the right track, and the third legendary will be the key of everything, we'll just have to see what Game Freak has in for us and personally speaking I'm very excited!

A deep dive into Scarlet and Violet's lore
Okay so, since the story's kinda the only good thing about these games alongside the characterizations I wanted to share a couple of ideas I have in mind regarding the story so far.
Tumblr media
As always excuse eventual grammar errors and strange periods, English is not my first language and I'm trying my very best ahahah
Obviously there are going to be spoilers about the endgame, so beware!
Can we all agree that the time machine and the Pokémons from the past/future thing just has so many holes in it?
Like sure, Turo and Sada are geniuses and may very well have been able to create some sort of machine that allows Pokéballs to travel across time to catch these variants of Pokémons we know in the present, but.
I'm kinda confident that these Pokémons (if we want to call them that) do not come from a different time, they just don't exist at all, or at least they're not supposed to. I mean, they specifically chose to call them Paradoxes, things that shouldn't exist in the first place but are there in front of your eyes somehow. Not Past or Future Forms, not Prehistoric or Futuristic Forms, Paradoxes.
Let's take the Scarlet ones for example for a minute: how come there is no trace left whatsoever of these Pokémons like the Fossils? And don't get me started on Sandy Shock, come on, how the hell is a magnet existing millions of years ago. They don't make sense!
If we read the Scarlet/Violet Book we learn that the Paradoxes, the same ones, have already been encountered by the Area Zero Expedition, which explored the Area Zero 200 years ago, and also very likely during the Great Expedition Era which was around 2000 years ago, and of course no time machine existed back then. This is obviously very strange and Arven as well points this out in the post-game.
So the question is: where exactly do they come from?
Let's start by saying that everything that happened in the Area Zero, from the Terastal phenomenon that was later brought to the surface, the production of an AI able to copy the Professor in any way that couldn't have been made with the modern human technology, to the making of the time machine was all thanks to the power of the crystals present down there which, we know, come from the infamous third legendary.
Tumblr media
I strongly belive, and I see that a great part of the community agrees, that this thing is able to materialize people's imagination, to make their dreams come true.
Think of this: the Professor adores the Scarlet/Violet Book, they bring it together with them since they were kids, they fantasize about a "paradise" described in this book and this dream never leaves them while growing up and they dedicate their whole lives to fulfill it. This dream clearly becomes an obsession, they neglect their child, the AI they created starts to disagree with them, but they still proceed until they succeed in creating the time machine. (Personal opinion: the game should have definitely explored the motive behind the Professor's actions more) But is it really a time machine or is the third legendary making their dream come true by bringing them the creatures they always read about? As long as the machine works neither the Professor and the AI question its actual nature, obviously they take for granted that it's a time machine.
Following this line of logic the machine helped the AI to fulfill their dream by making them go to the world they wished to explore.
To further support my theory take a look at this page of the Scarlet Book:
Tumblr media
1) Why would they put this page in the game (and leakers say we will have this thing in the DLC) which is clearly centered on someone's imagination if the Paradoxes simply come from different times? Because they don't.👀
2) It's absolutely IMPOSSIBILE for this thing to exist in the past. Raikou, Suicune and Entei were born after the Burned Tower incident about 150 years ago thanks to Ho-oh bringing them back to life in their new form, they couldn't have ever existed in ancient times.
And with that I rest my case, Your Honor.
It's very obvious that the DLC is going to be very story driven and I'm very excited to see how things will turn out (while on the other hand they could have said something more now instead of finishing the main story in a DLC but welp, they gotta convince you to buy it somehow)
Let me know about your opinions!

Imagine being a hero, the protagonist of a story, until you just aren't.
Rather then presenting theories or parallelisms this time I'm going back to analyze Volo's character, with a bit of Cogita in it as well (spoilers ahead under the cut, of course)
Cogita has lived hundreds of years, she has witnessed the first contact between humans and Pokémons, the absolute peak of their relationship but also the disappearance of her people, the land that once was full with civilization returning to the wild, that relationship completely breaking apart and humans constantly growing more afraid of Pokémons. But she had to stay alive, isolated in her ancient realm, to fulfill one thing and one thing only: wait for the one with the mission. Wait for the next big hero who could possibly bring everything back to its splendor.
And so she waited and waited until, 2000 years later, a miracle happens: in a world where people were afraid to have any kind of contact with Pokémons she found a boy who could perfectly handle six of them: Volo. Cogita had just found the one with the mission, the next hero, or so she thought.
Fulfilling her duty Cogita shared with the boy myths and legends about Hisui and its Pokémons, especially the ones regarding the creation and the children of God, and Volo carefully listened wanting to know more and more. His plan was going smoothly, he really was the chosen one destined to change such a cruel world and make a new better one!
But one day something happened: a person fell from the sky. Volo panicked, of course, and rushed to know more about this person and whether how much of a threat they could be and oh boy if they were. Telling Cogita about them probably was the worst mistake he could have ever made: this mysterious person coming from another time and probably from another dimension had to be the real one with the mission, sent directly from God itself, and so she starts growing suspicious of Volo, being more wary of she told him (remember when she pretends to not know about the Fairy Plate? Or the fact that she never directly reveals us her true identity but instead mentions her "ancestors"? That's because Volo was there with us every single time, I just know that Cogita was starting to get weird vibes from him from how she treated him)
Volo originally was the hero, the hope of Hisui, he himself was also truly convinced of that, until he just wasn't. Until the creator sent someone from the future specifically to ruin everything he worked for, because in a world where no one dared to have contact with Pokémons, a man with six of them could easily be considered the strongest one ever. Nobody in Hisui had the slightest chance to stop Volo, let's be honest.
So yeah, I personally would have gone insane as well if I worked my entire life for a certain dream, being absolutely certain that it could have made the world a better place, until one day I realize that destiny made me believe I was the hero when I was actually made the villain of my own story.

So what if that one bit of GOTCHA! music video with Cynthia was Volo instead? What then?
I was gonna make a quick redraw/trace but then I ended up spending a lot of effort into it

Pokémon Legends Arceus spoilers ahead!
Cogita, the woman who has lived so long to gain such a great knowledge of the world with all its secrets and legends and putting it into words, old verses to be precise, to share it with everyone. Her names comes from the Latin verb "cogito" that means "I think"
Volo, the man who dedicated his entire life to his ambitions and strong will to meet the Creator Arceus, to know what it looks like and subjugate its power to create a new, better world, no matter what the cost. His name comes from the Latin verb "volo" that means "I wish/I will"
Cynthia, the woman who prevents the world from being remade into a new rational one without the spirit, taking the side of emotions and strongly believing in their importance for every living thing. Her name resembles the Latin verb "sentio" that means "I feel"
Tumblr media
So we have each character representing knowledge, willpower and emotions
I really wonder where I've already seen this trio...

How unlucky can you ever be to dedicate your entire life to research about the god who created everything, meeting it in person is your sole purpose in life and you'd do anything to make it happen, even summoning its troublesome child and cause a cataclysm, and not only said god totally ignores you but it straight up sends a kid from the future JUST to completely wreck your shit
Someone give that man a hug, even just for the effort

Damnatio memoriae

One of the things I appreciated the most about Pokémon Legends Arceus is that it made everything make sense now, and I'm especially talking about Pokémon Platinum. At least that's where my theories led me! They can obviously be completely wrong but I want to share them! There will be spoilers of the game
Up until BDSP all we knew about Giratina was that it was banished in the Distortion World due to its raging and rebellious nature but there isn't a single book or story talking about it in Canalave's library, therefore no one knows about Giratina. The million dollar question was: why is that? What happened? And a simple answer was that nobody ever got the chance to meet Giratina since it was banished not much after Arceus' creation of everything and never got the chance to show itself to the humankind other than a lucky 10 year old stepping in a place where the two opposite worlds collide.
However. There always has been a big but: what we know about Giratina is told to us by Cynthia in Pokémon Platinum, how does she know about its existence then? How is she able to guide us in the Distortion World? No doubt that she's a very committed archeologist but at that time it was such a mystery how she got this kind of information. You know where I'm getting at but before talking about our dear completely harmless merchant I wanted to point out the fact that Pokémon Legends Arceus tells us a story: Celestica.
It is now confirmed that Giratina actually made contact with humans long ago, and the Celestica Ruins are proof of that: there's a statue of each one of Arceus' children to which Celestica people prayed, they knew exactly how they looked like and what's more is that Giratina's statue is located in an apical spot, meaning that they loved it even more than the other two! It's pretty normal for them to do so since it actually was Giratina the one who gifted the 10 original Noble Pokémons to the humans (Zap Plate), saving them from a most certain extinction considering how weak people were compared to Pokémons.
But why is this statue broken now and nobody ever considered repairing it? Well, I think it was intentional, people chose to forget about Giratina because it can only bring nothing but destruction. Celestica one day simply disappeared, both people, name and constructions (Old Verse 5), how could this be? No population can be wiped out this fast normally, right? What I think is that Celestica people decided to play with fire a bit too much and probably completely misunderstood Giratina's intentions. It "gifted" humans with Pokémons not out of kindness or whatever, we know Giratina is extremely envious of the normal world where balance and peace reigns and it can only blame its father for that, Giratina used humans to get to fight its father (mmmh, this reminds me of a certain someone who uses the main character to get to Arceus👀 what a great parallelism) but still didn't want anything to do with them at all and the day they got a bit too close it just made them disappear, maybe with a space-time rift. We also know that someone survived this disaster *cough* *cough* Cogita *cough* *cough* and maybe others, and probably these survivors were the ones to destroy that infamous Giratina's statue, because such a disaster could never repeat itself again and not letting anyone know about its existence was the safest thing to do.
Giratina was a victim of damnatio memoriae (in case you don't know what that means it's a Latin phrase meaning "condemnation of memory" and it was a practice used since the Ancient Era and especially by ancient romans in which every document, inscription, whatever written proof of someone's existence was completely destroyed.)
But one day in Hisui a certain person, a descendant of Celestica people, with such an immense passion for archeology and myths to the point of dedicating his entire life to find the creator of everything to create a better world, did the homework so good to find out about Giratina and opened a new space-time rift: of course, I'm talking about Volo.
After the final battle Volo tells the main character that he's not willing to give up on his dream, whether it takes him years, decades or centuries, so I'm pretty sure he wrote down his studies for his descendants to have and that gets me to the starting point: Cynthia. That's the reason she knows about Giratina in a world where no one else knows about its existence! And as ironic as it sounds, Volo is technically the reason the main character is able to stop Cyrus, the man with almost his same plan, and save the world in Pokémon Platinum since it's thanks to Cynthia MC is able to safely get through the Distortion World.
So yes, everything makes sense now and I'll never stop saying how good the lore was in this game, please keep it up for the next games as well dear Game Freak🙏🏻
