Alternate Hope [Future Gohan & Future Trunks]

"You have no idea how good it is to see you Gohan, even if you aren't the one I knew. Seeing you alive like this... it's really nice." Even if it wasn't his version of his mentor, Trunks was always content to interact with alternates, it helped fill the void somewhat that was left by the knowledge his own mentor was not only dead, but completely gone. But now wasn't the time for reflecting on his more recent failures, now was reflecting for a time when things were a little less complicated... alas, it also happened to be a time where he had felt he failed his master.

"It... wasn't great. I was barely more than a burden at the time, only good for distracting one of the androids before you had to save me from them anyway. I apologized for embarrassing myself by not contributing anything meaningful, but you rejected every apology I gave."

“I can say the same about you, Trunks,” Future Gohan replied with a growing smile. In contrast Gohan felt similarly with what happened in his own timeline, though that was what this talk would lead to.

He frowned at hearing Trunks’ answer, it was unfortunate, but he was sure there were better and worse timelines besdies their own. “I see, so that’s what diverged with our timelines, I’m glad you survived.”

He let out a light sigh, years later and he still could not get over what happened, Gohan hoped he could find a little closer to being honest with his sins. “Unfortunately that very battle with the Androids, the Trunks from my timeline, I wasn’t able to protect him and he perished,” he confused, clenching his fists tightly. “Telling Bulma was one of the hardest things I had to do.”

If anything, that drove Gohan to make sure he was thorough with Bulma’s plan to send him into the past to save their future. Gohan supposed confessing to this Trunks, and other versions of him was his way of atoning. He wasn’t even sure he would forgive himself properly if he was meeting up with alternate Trunks’ like this, his guilt will always be there.

“Now onto a more lighter topic, Trunks, how strong are you now?” he inquired curiously. Future Gohan always knew Trunks’ had a lot of potential, he was eager to hear how strong his Trunks could have been if he had survived like this one.

“Anything really, sure Candy is nice and all, but anything you can eat is good with me. But the ki smoked Dinosaur Tail sounds tasty, I’d like to try that at some point.” She said with a sheepish smile.

“The more I think about it, even if there was a way, it may be too risky, last thing we need is Cooler taking over your body,” Future Goahn replied. The power boost it would give the Majin would be beneficial of course, but he’d rather not think about her being his next enemy one day.

“Great, then please follow me!” The future warrior soon flew off, glancing back to check she was tailing behind him. “By the way, you do know about the Androids that took over the Earth before, right?” he asked her curiously, Majin Krema would have been a great help to him back then too.

Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan after Icarus is killed from protecting him

In a Super Saiyan Rage, Gohan rips Cooler’s tail and limbs off except one arm, allowing him to charge up a Supernova. He then sends Cooler into the sun with a Hyper Masenko

Salza sneak attacks Gohan with a ki blade while his guard is down, giving Gohan his scar. He is finished off by Piccolo like in the movie.

Sometime later, Cooler merges with the Big Geti Star and takes over New Namek, all the dragon clan Namekians are killed in the process (meaning no more dragon balls).

Hoi visits Earth and with the assistance of the Z Warriors, opens a sealed music box with a wish from the dragonballs, releasing the demon Hirudigarn and the Konatsa-jin hero Minosha.

“But–ugh! I’m trying, damnit!””

She stammered, shaking her tightly balled fists at her side. She gritted her teeth as feeling of frustration began to build. His harshness was really starting to get under her skin, but of course that’s what he wanted. Videl did her best to channel that anger into her next try.

He was right, though; if she couldn’t at least keep up with Gohan, what chance did she have against the Androids? Sure they were powerful enough to crush her as it were, but not trying would doom her just the same.

Despite her muscles screaming for her to stop, Videl found a little more strength to keep on. She raised her fists once more, preparing herself to throw another punch. Just one punch, and maybe he’d finally be satisfied with her training for the day. Videl took a deep breath, quickly closing the distance between them in a burst of energy. She curled her fist back, putting all her might into it, swinging it forth and taking aim at his core.

“Yeah, I know you are Videl, now try harder!” Future Gohan continued to encourage Videl with the same unyielding brutal tone of his, intending the push the all fight she had left still. He was expecting it, then found himself punched in the face, feet skidding back a little as he caught Videl’s wrist right after the impact. Yep it hurt, but it showed that Videl was definitely getting stronger.

“That was a good punch, if that caught an opponent off guard, you would have knocked them out.”  He admitted, letting Videl go to rub his sore cheek. Future Gohan couldn’t be more proud, but Videl still had a long way to go to earn those words from him. Gohan couldn’t be too soft on her just yet.

“So well done, you earned yourself your break for the day.” He spoke with a bright smile, Videl did earn at least that much, promptly tossing a towel over to her.  “Remember that feeling, that is your limit to surpass every time we train,” he added with his last teacher like advice for the day too.
