AITA for accidentally letting my daughter die?
Title about sums it up. I (M40s) love my daughter (F17) dearly and have done everything I could to protect her up until this point (including sending her boyfriend [M17] to a brainwashing shack so she wouldn't get pregnant and die), but recently I had a lapse of judgment that made things go awry.
It's a long story, but basically my daughter was being used as bait to draw me out of a house I was barricading myself in. I didn't actually think they would shoot her for real. I had a plan, kind of, and I called their bluff. Anyway, they did shoot her, and the last thing she heard was me yelling about how she's not even my real biological daughter (true) and how I don't care about her and never have (false).
AITA for misunderstanding the situation and letting my daughter be shot? Afterwards, I killed the actual man (M30-40s?) who shot her (which led to a boat exploding, but I don't really care if I'm the asshole for that), but I don't feel any better - I'm thinking about going after his boss (M70?) and killing his daughter (F30s?). WIBTA if I did that?
