okay to explain myself I love making aus that only appeal to Me and this happened on accident and then turned into ‘I have a shocking amount of lore for this’ so. oopsie. here’s a Magic: The Gathering au where Majima and Kiryu are both Planeswalkers
a very, very tldr: kiryu is from old kamigawa, majima is from new kamigawa. their sparks ignited at the same ‘time’ (in the cosmic sense, not literally) and as a result they are inexplicably drawn to one another. shenanigans ensue.
kiryu was an orphan raised by a shrine shortly after the end of the kami war- said shrine had a ritual designed to connect people with the spirits more literally where a kami would partially be inked onto a humans body, granting the two of them combined strength. kiryus is a dragon, of course- as a result he has a half-dragon form he can take on. he can’t hide the horns, though. his spark ignited when his brother stabbed him in an act of betrayal.
majima was an orphan raised on the streets who eventually was taken in by the saejimas and became close friends. the two boys joined the reckoners together and showed a lot of promise- too much promise, honestly. threatened by them, a betrayal was orchestrated that led to majima being imprisoned and tortured. his spark ignited at his lowest point when his eye was gouged out.
theres lots more ive thought about (nishiki has his own redemption quest, majima was told saejima died but hes actually still in prison, nishitani is a member of the new capenna maestros and the first person majima meets post-spark-) but that’ll make this post a mile long.
basically it’s an excuse for two cosmically linked weird men with magic powers to meet in different planes and fight a lot and eventually make out about it
