claws come to scratch at own cheek while matagot rests heavy head ‘gainst own hand .       amused exhale is offered from place atop of crates while low voice speaks ,   a rumbly purr of vaguely humored noise escaping dry throat  as chatoyant eyes gaze at the doctor with a smile .   more likely than not the other didn’t need what he brought   -    arséne was not too knowledgeable in  healthcare nor did he do much more than pick up everything he could find in some clinic in fontaine .   but he had no other choice ,   his body was mostly human so perhaps a doctor would know if he was safe or not from poisoning . ❛  matagot has brought medical supplies from fontaine for mister doctor , in return matagot  needs to know if he knows of spirit health and such . ❜

the amount of times arséne outright calls himself “matagot” i wouldn’t be surprised if people outside of fontaine thought that was his name .   and that those of fontaine probably know he does it to belittle himself .

❛  what a lovely ,  free ,   town .   ❜        voice comes in form of an amused rumble  ‘fore tail leaves hiding place ‘neath ones vest to move back and forth ,   unblinking gaze shifting towards other and away from sight of mondstadt ;    one has heard a fair share of things about the city of freedom ,      a bit here and there & ever since  leaving fontaine when one was but a bloody mess it sounded the most tempting to come here       (  especially because here at least ,   there is hopes of fitting in with  people with cat features without sticking out .   maybe .   )     instead one finds that knights of favonius truly are diligent in their work ,   keeping watch for anyone who may be just slightly suspicious . ❛   one merely wanted to see what it was like.   ❜

❛  ah ,   this lowly cat is merely looking to rest .   ❜    blonde hums out along small yawn ,   ignoring facts of possibly being attacked .       despite distrust in  everyone matagot is confident that other won’t harm if something is offered to buy peace ,   treasure ,   if physical or verbal ,   goes a long way in teyvat ,  as much for monsters as for humans .    ❛  matagot offers secrets in return  .   ❜ sleepy voice offers ,   referring to self lowly just in case . one could never know with people ,   especially men .    the last one he’s encountered used his hydro vision to almost drown him just for “fun” ,   after all .   at least this one does not smell of seafood and saltwater so hopefully he will be safe from that ;    mostly because it’s incredibly cold and his powers will only warm him up so much , too .

❛   oh ?   it seems the cat is out of the bag .   ❜    jesting voice comes as ears  twitch in excitement as green eyes roll back to glance at whomever just halted his little stroll around the nearby ruin ;    feline instinct does not betray  -  he’s  assumed he would seem like a suspicious fellow ,    especially in a place like  mondstadt where most visitors of ruins were abyss creatures & hilichurls .  he maybe should have thought things through a little more .    or not ,   this could  be entertaining .               ❛  i am but a cat hunting a rat ,   mademoiselle .  ❜

❛   mon archonte ,   people do not usually go here .  ❜    voice comes as matagot leaves safety of hiding spot in favor of revealing self ,      perhaps it was heightened senses ,   perhaps it was merely fantastical imagination but something about young woman seemed off ,    as though she did not fear whichever creatures of the abyss  could lurk here .      even treasure hunters weren’t foolish enough to come by ,   or , well ,   most of them weren’t .   tail moves gracefully back and worth ,   all but small indicator of interest chatoyant eyes may hold ;     ❛   what could you seek , hm ?  ❜   he purrs out before stretching lazily ,   yet another display of harmlessness he tries .

important facts about arséne to keep in mind !

the reason he is disliked in fontaine ( and perhaps to those knowledgable of fontaine’s spirits & creatures ) is not because of his cat features but because of the clear signs of a connection to malevolent spirits / matagots ( i.E the color of his sclera is a lighter shade of green rather than white ,   he has claws rather than normal hands & a sign of possession on his neck )

he is aware that people with catlike features exists but it doesn’t change the fact that the evidence pointing towards his connection to malevolent beings is the reason he is usually treated unkindly 

arséne does not care about the divine nature of the archons ;   to him they’re little more than state figures that he wants to avoid at all costs, so if you expect him to react in anyway differently than from other people to an archon; he won’t.

his powers are not elementally based and are of a dark nature ( thanks to the matagot influence )  that will corrupt him and his environment if no precautions are taken .

he sleeps. A LOT. so more likely than not you will encounter him either asleep or on the lookout for a safe place to rest
