Hello everyone! We’re so excited to meet you all and welcome you into our family, again. As a part of our efforts to build a strong community for our re-opening, we are launching a tumblr event: introductions. if you just submit a post with your favorite gif that tells us about you, some of your ideal plots, favorite faces, why you love rp, that sort of thing; you will be eligible to claim one face claim for the tumblr reserves.  Make sure to tag your introduction with the intros tag. We’re officially reopening on March 21st after some time away. We’ve updated a few things and we’re excited to get back to writing! We hope that you’ll enjoy the updates and feel free to follow our site tumblr to follow our updates leading up to our reopening!

Faeries

Many tales of faeries surround them with light and kindness, faery dust and happiness, but those are only half true. Faeries are born with a humanoid shape, and once they hit puberty, dragonfly like wings grow from their back and they gain an ethereal aura, each color being unique to the sprite.

Not only can they grow plants with just the sweet song of their voice, their magic relies on the elements of nature such as air bubbles and flames to name a couple. They have a natural affinity for plants and animals, finding kindred spirits in these creatures and things. Their magic becomes essential when escaping danger or hiding, as they have the ability to shrink to a tenth of their normal size, and their wings allow them to move quickly. They can create glamours to appear normal to the human population. They are impulsive and have a hard time controlling their emotions.

Faeries have a mortal life span.

They have several weaknesses. Not only is iron poisonous to them and exposed to too much could kill them, elemental glamour magic are sustained by using energy. Once their energy is depleted, they are incredibly vulnerable. These lovely faeries also feed on emotions, on a higher level than humans do. Thus, leaving them with the inability to truly have control over their emotions.

The Illeara Vampire Covenant Elders

The elders of the vampire covenant are older, even ancient members of their race who could remember what the world was like long before the human race had become so popular, before the plague that about destroyed everyones way of life  was released. They are long lived and pure, born vampires who were not turned. They are the “royalty” for the vampire race and there is no doubt that they are a driving force behind the vampires, at least, in Illeara. 

These 6 individuals are at least 2,000 years old though most likely older, dating back to the earliest vampires known in existence. Their talents lay in battle, word play, learning, astrology, pacifying, and surviving. They have long withstood the storms that mortal life produced for the supernaturals and were founding members of Alexandria, long before it was called Illeara, when the city was first built around 331 BCE. They serve as the elders, or covenant leaders, each representing a unique talent that is brought to the council. Together with their covenant leader (the senator) and the undersecretary, they help keep their race in line, ensure that everyone is following the rules, and being productive members of society.

Their names, genders, face claims, histories, and personalities are completely open. If you have any interest or questions, please reach out and let us know!

The Past Illearean Pharaohs

The pharaoh's of Egypt have been immortals for the last two thousand years, if not longer. As such, the tradition has been that a pharaoh only rules for a century before they pass the mantle onto the next pharaoh, their crown prince or princess, their firstborn and in the absence of a firstborn, to their next oldest sibling. Due to the longstanding tradition that inscribed in stone in Illeara's monarchy, that means there are a lot of former pharaohs still alive and living in the palace and in various places around Egypt if they chose to leave the city for something different (namely peace and quite away from the bickering of the court) and still have a lot to offer to the current pharaoh. One thing that is unique to the house of Zahra is that all of their children, even those who do not stand to inherit the crown still receive traditional Egyptian names that were prevalent in ancient Kemet. 

It would be an erroneous assumption to think that once a former pharaoh passes the mantle that they have nothing left to offer. That thought is simply not true. The former pharaohs all hold a high place of honor at court, and they often serve as principle advisors to the current pharaoh. They don't hold formal office in government, like the senators that make up the pharaoh's privy council; however, many of them still live in the palace in the family apartments at the heart of the court and see and interact with the current pharaoh on varying levels. 

They still wield a large amount of influence at court and the pharaoh does weigh their views and opinions when she asks for them. They all range in ages, but the canons you see below are probably some of the most pivotal former pharaohs that still play large roles in the monarchy and help represent the royal family through varying forms of appearances in Illeara and around the globe if the pharaoh asks them to represent the crown through a political trip or something of that nature.

Currently, there are 6 former pharaohs who are being requested in this canon set. The current pharaoh’s immediate predecessor Pharaoh Andomne, her father. Pharaoh Tulia, the pharaoh’s grandmother is also being requested. Pharaoh Net I the founder of the Zahra dynasty is also being requested as is Pharaoh Teos III the pharaoh who ruled Egypt when the plague happened and made the decision to out the supernatural world in order to save it. Pharaoh Henutsen XII & Pharaoh Nefertiti II are also being requested who each played equally important roles in their respected reigns of Illeara. 

Only 3 have open genders, with Andomne and Net being male and Tulia being female. Their names are just placeholders so if you would like to hunt something different that’s okay. Their histories are broadly open though there are a few key points listed in the canon wanted ad, so you’ll have to check those out. Ages are fairly open to the ranges listed in the ad, and face claims and personalities are wide open.If you’re interested, please reach out to us and let us know!

Incubi & Succubi

Often portrayed as sexual deviants and demons that pray on the human race. No one knows for sure how incubi and succubi were created, but they are very real. They live and feed off all types of energies, including sexual energies of all mortal races, not just humans.

They are exceedingly beautiful, if not the most beautiful of the immortal races. Everything about them is designed to lure people in, to draw them close. They have a special touch, that if not controlled, can drive a mortal mad and fill them with uncontrollable lust. Their abilities manifest in puberty like most of the supernatural races, and it is up to their parents and guardians to ensure they learn how to control them so that they won’t abuse their powers or expose the supernatural race.

Incubi and Succubi can be identified by faint dark stripes that are barely visible across their backs. To the passing eye they might look like a blemish on the skin, or even faint and faded tattoos, but they are the calling card of an incubi and succubi.

Incubi and Succubi are an immortal race.

Incubi and succubi have a variety of strengths and weaknesses. They are very beautiful and alluring, often proving to disarm and charm mortals. They have retractable fangs that can be used for defense and they are exceptionally strong. Older and stronger incubi and succubi can also dream walk, casting their conscious into the dreams of others to glean information and to bond. They do require regular feeding on sexual energies so they do get the label of sexual deviants if they are not careful. Their touch can also be a weakness because sometimes if they don’t control it they can send mortals into a madness.

Banshees

Guardians of the dead, skilled warriors, and known for their affinity of trees. They are often called the harbingers of death, the wailing women, and omen’s of death. Banshees are enigmatic creatures associated with death. They can sense the knell of approaching death for mortals and immortals alike and often cross the veil of the world to guide the dead to the other side.

They are skilled in many weapons and in physical combat, but their true strength lies in their banshee cries. The cries can shatter glass, crush rock, and bend steel. It’s fatal to who are forced to endure full blasts of it. One false perception is that banshees are only female, however, that is not the case. There are male banshees too, though, their cries are not as powerful as female banshee cries.

Banshees are a mortal race.

Banshees have very few weaknesses, namely the tree that anchors them to the mortal plane when they are through the veil guiding souls into the afterlife. Another weakness is their ability to be subdued and hurt by charms and enchantments. Their clear strengths are their banshee voices that can kill and cause great damage, their skills in combat, and their ability to sense death.

The House of Zahra

The royal family of Kemet has been the house of Zahra for over 3 millennia, serving as the 19th dynasty in Egypt and by far being the longest serving dynasty to wield power and wear the golden mantles in Egypt. They are a well known family, and the world knows a lot about the Zahra’s that control Egypt and offer help, commerce, and knowledge to the rest of the world. 

As a former queen, a crown prince, and royal princes and princesses, these individuals have tremendous sway and influence in the palace and out in the city. The house of Zahra is widely known and have resided in the land of Kemet for thousands of years, so make no mistake, each of these individuals are often under the microscope. Every action is watched a scrutinized, not just by the court courtiers, but also by the citizens of the city. So, it's hard to sometimes have privacy and be out of the public eye, which is why so many of the Zahra's reside in the palace and don't venture out into the city a lot. 

This is a family of merfolk and because of the need for the bloodlines to remain as pure as possible, the family members requested in this canon set are only merfolk. Please note that the princes and princesses often serve as political emissaries and travel in the place of the pharaoh when needed, so sometimes it's rare to see them all in the city together short of special occasions like religious events or things that the pharaoh needs them all to be there for.  

The house of Zahra canon set is for the former queen-consort aka the queen mother as she is the mother of the current pharaoh, the crown prince aka the pharaoh’s twin brother who is also the Merfolk senator in the senate, and for the four other younger siblings whose genders are open, however, the queen mother and crown prince have . Their first names, face claims, ages, histories, and personalities are also open, though the staff team requests that the face claims be African American. The Queen-mother, crown prince, and 3 of the younger siblings are currently open, the 5th sibling has been claimed at this time. Vampires

Vampires have been called many things through the centuries, the children of the night, satan’s spawn, bloodsuckers, the undying ones, and many more. They are naturally beautiful and alluring, with speed and strength that far surpasses that of any mortal. They have an unparalleled thirst for blood, but can consume human food too. Vampires can be born or made. Vampires are sensitive to UV lights and can’t walk in the sun unless they have items enchanted by witches to protect them from the sun. 

Vampires are extremely intelligent and have keen minds that can easily recall facts and memories. They are sometimes at the mercy of their thirst and their emotions, especially bitten vampires. Their emotions can easily overwhelm them at times and a singular driving force, well emotions and their thirst for blood. 

Vampires have an immortal lifespan. 

Vampires are extremely strong and fast, not as strong as werewolves, but still no weakling in their own rights. They can survive for a short time off of human food, but they do have to drink blood in order to maintain their lives. Create sire bonds with their turned progeny and can transfer and receive memories through drinking blood. In addition, are weak against sunlight and holy water.
