I am sad to leave this place behind because I really enjoyed the nice little circle we built here you all have been incredibly supportive of me but with the introduction of AI scraping to tumblr I just can't continue on like that anymore.
There is no true opt out, they simply give a list of users who request to be opted out of the ai scraping and because everyone starts out opted in when this deal was made they fully had access to every single post on the website.
Every piece of writing or art sent to me through an ask, everything I've ever reblogged from my friends and from people making art that I really respect are now more likely to get scraped because I did that. I can't keep on doing that to people here anymore, this is not a place for a fandom community anymore.
I'll be officially moving to cohost. I've set it so you can send anonymous asks there without having an account so you don't have to make one. Thank you for enjoying my niche little rarepair with me

And about the AI opt-out setting Tumblr will deploy tomorrow, I’ll just let you with the words of the person in charge of the heist:
Andrew Spittle, Automattic’s head of AI replied: “We will notify existing partners on a regular basis about anyone who’s opted out since the last time we provided a list. […] I believe partners will honor this based on our conversations with them to this point.”
So Tumblr will notify openAi and Midjourney that you wish your posts to not be used and it’s entirely up to them to comply or not. And as we know, we are talking about some of the less ethical companies on the internet (which honestly is kind of a feat), so that cute little setting will most than probably do nothing and less.

If you're logged into your AO3 account, you can mute any other account on the Archive. Muting means that you will no longer see:
works they've created (or co-created) in search results and tag listings (you can still access the works themselves, if you have a direct link)
bookmarks they've created
other users' bookmarks of their works or series
comments they've left
You can mute a user by clicking/tapping on their username (anywhere on the site) to get to their profile page. On that page, you can select the Mute button and then confirm that you really mean to do it.
To unmute them later, you can go to your Preferences page and select the button for Muted Users. Find their name in the list, and select the Unmute button. Then you'll see them on the Archive again.
