I might be able to help with that.

As much as I like having summers off now that my kids don’t need me much I want to look into a part time summer job I think.

TOP 15 THE ORIGINALS CHARACTERS (as voted by my followers) ↳ 13. Lucien Castle
I suppose I should just fess up. Tell you all of my deepest, darkest secrets. I’m a Scorpio, I prefer wine to whiskey, got a bit of a sweet tooth… Oh, my greatest joy is listening to the screams of my victims just before I end them.

This was not going the way he knew Lily wanted it to go. He sighed and sat back in his chair. “I’m trying to understand all of this Freya but you’re not making it easy. We don’t see the world the same and that’s something I have always loved about you. But you have to see that I’m trying to change. You just have to help me out and give me a chance. You’ve had Lily for 16 years. I’ve had her for a matter of weeks. You can’t be in control of everything. There are things she’s going to come to me for and you have to be okay with that. You have to allow me to her father. You have to let me have some slack. If there’s anything I feel she should hear from you or that you should have a say in I will call you. I have never lied to you Freya and I am not about to start now. You have to work with me though.”
He knew the situation they were in was difficult and complicated but she had to see that he was trying. He was trying to be a good father if nothing else. The last thing he wanted was to give her a reason to keep Lily from him. He had already lost 16 years of her life he was not about to lose anymore time with her. “You have strong kids. I’m sure they’ll be okay. it just might take some time. my kids lost their mother and my daughter at least has managed to move past it. Though her own tramatic events may have eclipsed it recently. “
Freya nodded, “I believe it may be a bit of both, if I know her at all. And I liked to think I do.” She told him, her hands idly playing with her napkin in her own lap. This was nerve wreaking, the whole trying to act normal and just make conversation like normal human beings was a lot to handle. Her instincts still screamed at her to just leave, before this could go horribly wrong. But with the reminder of her daughters words, she just couldn’t do that. She promised to try, and try she would do.
Sighing heavily. the blonde subtlety shook her head. She should’ve known he’d take her words like that. Things were going way too well, something had to go and ruin it before she got some disillusion that this could actually work. Them getting along never worked long term.. They were always better at the back and forth banter of sorts. How were they supposed to do this, co-parent a daughter together, when this is what happened when they spoke? She hadn’t a clue. “I didn’t mean it that way and you know it.” She retorted, her voice sharp and face completely serious. “I simply would’ve liked to have told her myself, or to have at least been there to give my answers as well.” She added, only a tad softer. Her eyes on him as he said it was indeed the truth. Was he actually being sympathetic? She couldn’t keep up with him and his ever changing ways. “If you say so, I’m not going to fuss over it.” She shrugged, “He did and He was - is amazing, still is. Life just has other plans for us, I suppose. Too much has been said and done to be forgiven this time. He deserves a fresh start. I just hope the kids don’t suffer for it.”

Alexis: What am I going to do with a book? Throw it over someone's head? Okay, that made more sense. So in a way, it was Klaus who would have ran away from Mikael? God, why is our lives so complicated.
Alexis: Tell me about it. But you loved her, didn't you? I don't remember much about mother. I was too young when she died. What was she like? Did she regret having me? I'll TRY not to kill anyone. Does that sound better to you?
Alexis: Did YOU ever regret having me, dad? You can say yes. I won't hold it against you. But I want to see you in person. I have a few things I wish to discuss to you and not over through text.
Lucien: I did love her. when we were kids we used to play together and I thought maybe she loves me too but I was a servant and she would never love me. She loved Klaus. i can work with that.
Lucien: Never. I never regretted having you. Not for a single moment. Maybe it was selfish of me. You were my blood. You have no choice but to love me. Something I always needed. I'll be home in a few hours, tying up some things at the office.

“Yes it would seem she is.” He unfolded his napkin and placed it in his lap. It was strange and he was a little unsettled by this whole set up but he tried to hide an signs of nervousness. “I think her own boy troubles are transferring to us. Either that or she’s simply a typical teenagers who thinks her parents need to be happy together whether that’s possible or not.”
Lucien put his hands n the tables and for the first time since he sat down looked at her fully. “And why would it have better for you to have told her than me? Am I incapable of having a conversation with our daughter? I did not lie or manipulate anything. Lily knows exactly who i am. All that I have done. I have made it very clear to her that I am not a hero. But she believes in me and that is something I have never had.” He looked down, knowing that he had let her get to him. She had found his button and pushed it probably without even knowing. His worst fear was disappointing Lily and had inadvertently implied that’s what he would do. “You can believe what you will but it is the truth. i may not have liked the-your husband but he seemed to have made you happy and he raised our daughter for 16 years so I can’t completely hate the man.   The ending of a marriage is never something to celebrate.”
“She’s always been that way. It only seems to multiply with age.” Freya replied, shaking her head at the thought. It was borderline amusing, she had to admit. “She’s quite stuck on the whole concept of trying. I think I got that word from her at least twenty times today alone.” She told him, finally looking up to him for the first time since he’d first sat down. This was strange. Almost normal, only not quite.
Hearing his words, Freya pressed her lips into a line. She wasn’t a fan of her past being brought up, even when it wasn’t just hers. He had a right to tell their daughter about it, and Lily had a right to ask. That however, didn’t mean she was happy about it. Masking that, She nodded. “It’s alright. I knew she’d get curious sooner or later. I just wished she would’ve asked me. I did all I could to let her know she wasn’t a mistake of any sort, I suppose she just needed to hear it from the other half of her biology as well.” Smiling politely when the waitress came over, she took a breath and looked down until he mentioned her and Jackson. With a sigh, she looked up at Lucien. “I don’t believe you are.. But thank you.”

Alexis: It doesn't and can we please drop the subject that I have some sort of feelings towards her? Because I don't. The only feelings I left for her is hatred and so much of it. I don't trust half of the people living in this compound but I'll take your word for it. You did run away from Klaus's dad who tried to kill you. I'm just saying.
Alexis: Wow. Is it easier for you to say mom's dead after having slept with royalty and being part of that clan that ruined your life? Did you just call mom a rooster? YOU have that chance, what makes you think they'll accept me? Whatever. I'm here because of you but I didn't promise I was going to let go of anything, especially the past which includes them compelling you that you were them so they could live their life freely while you run and hide for years. I'm not just going to let that go, dad.
Lucien: hatred is born out of love. You should pick up a book every once in awhile. i ran away from Mikael because Klaus had compelled me to think i was him. It was not me running from him it was Klaus. There is a distinction.
Lucien: Alexis your mother and I has a complicated relationship. She never loved me. That was never a secret. I loved her once with everything in me but that dies a long time ago. Your mother in her own way loved you and I would never try to take that from you. But this is our home now and you don't have to like them but at least don't kill anyone.

Alexis: She keeps apologizing and I hate myself because it feels like there's a chance I might forgive her but I don't want to.
Alexis: I hate how much you know me so well sometimes. Its annoying. Does it matter if I still love her? What if she's going to leave again? I'll get stuck forever in the thought that I made the same mistake of trusting her again. And since when did we start trusting the Gerard's?
Alexis: They're your family, Dad. Not mine. You and mom have been the only family that I had and that's not going to change even if you impregnate every Mikaelson there ever was. What makes you think you can trust the Mikaelsons? Don't they have a long history of betrayal as much as you do? What about Klaus? Ugh. I hate witches.
Lucien: It does matter if you still love her. Sometimes the fear of rejection can paralyze us but that we are stronger than that. We're Castles and we are afraid of nothing. We find what scares us and we face it head on. We do not let fear stop us from taking what is ours. We trust no one, dear daughter. Not completely.
Lucien: Your mother is dead. It's time we let her be that way. She would actually probably be crowing like a rooster at this situation. I don't trust the Mikaelsons but my entire life all i have wanted was to be their equal to be one of them and now, now we have that chance. A thousand years and it is finally in my reach. I need to let the past go and so do you.

Alexis: You certainly brought the surprise in surprise. A secret daughter? Really, dad?
Alexis: Are you sure you're not under some witches spell? This is definitely not the dad I had grown used to. Aren't you suppose to be on MY side? I'm just angry that I have no legitimate reason to be angry towards her other than the fact that I felt like she didn't care.
Alexis: Also the part where her archenemies murdered me
Alexis: Can we not talk about mom while we're having a conversation about your illegitimate child?
Alexis: A Mikaelson? Are you fucking kidding me dad? Freya Mikaelson? You couldn't have chosen a normal hooker or maybe even a nice lady who cooks meal and can be a meal too. It had to be not only a witch but a Mikaelson. Should I start calling her mum now? Is she a witch?
Lucien: People change and adjust to new situations. Baby I am on your side. You have every right to be angry. But you and i both know you are too much like me. You want her to hurt but you want her to love you even more. It is our curse as Castles. We want to be loved and our only way of communicating that is through violence.
Lucien: Do not speak about Freya like that. the Mikaelsons are..they're our family for better or worse. That's what all of this has been for. Now they don't have a choice but to accept it. Yes, she's a witch.

[text]: You should be proud that I've managed to keep her alive after being here for a day or two. That's progress, Dad. [text]: I'm a Castle. Since when does a Castle do 'nice'? But, just out of genuine curiosity, what would happen if let's say, some accident would happen to her? [text]: You got some desperate hoe pregnant. Just please tell me she's not blonde.
[text] Alexis sometimes people can surprise you. If i've learned anything recently its that talking and listening can get you better results than violence. You got your revenge already. You can be angry at her but in the end you are just as much at fault for what happened as she was.[text] you would find yourself joining your mother and i wouldn't be able to save you this time.[text] She was not some hoe. Alexis show some respect please. It was Freya Mikaelson. Her youngest daughter Lily is your sister.

[text]: Being your daughter as I am, I also have this urge to want to slit her throat. That's not very ideal now, is it? [text]: Excuse me?
[text] Do not slit her throat. There will be no bloodshed.[text] I just found out. She's 16. Try to be nice.

Lucien chuckled, “It seems she has perfected the art of guilt tripping. I was played the you could only disappoint me if you don’t try card. I think my oldest were difficult but Lily is proving to be something else entirely. She gets an idea in her head and she doesn’t let go of it.” it was strange sitting here in a normal restaurant across from freya. He felt almost normal. Almost human again. Since Lily had come into his life he had tried to be a better man. Even before he knew she was his daughter. He had been a servant, than he had been Klaus Mikaelson, then he became lucien Castle  hell bent on revenge. Now he had to find out who he was without any of that.
“I’m afraid this may all be my fault. i made her a promise not to lie or keep things from her and she seemed interested in our history. I figured she deserved to know where she came from. That she wasn’t some mistake. Apparently from that she got that we needed to have a sit down dinner.’ He called over the waitress and ordered them a bottle of wine. “She told me about you and jackson. I’m sorry.”
Glancing around the restaurant, Freya only saw him when he walked through the door. The moment she had however? She’d completely frozen, her breath trapped in her throat. Yes, He’d always had some effect on her. But now, It seemed to have multiplied and become more known. Perhaps because it was just her and him in this restaurant, with no family possibly around. Perhaps it was that she’d finally figured out that her marriage was over and did something about it. Or perhaps maybe, just maybe, it was simply her heart betraying her mind. Who knew? She surely couldn’t figure that out right then. Not when her mind screamed at her to get up and leave. To forget this ever happened and go back to her sad normal life as of late. But her daughters words rang throughout her mind, and she knew she couldn’t do it. She had been guilt-tripped before, but this time it was extremely powerful and so was the inner battle of her heart and head.
Watching as he took a seat across from her, Freya forced herself to breathe and remain as impassive as possible. She would not let on how much she was struggling in his presence. She would not run before they’d spoken at all. She had to at least try. “She get’s it honestly.” She defended, folding her hands on her lap before she looked down. “Honestly? She pulled a few cards on me. The trust card included.” She would’ve added the guilt one, that worked most. But she knew full well Lucien would take it personally and she didn’t want that.

Lucien stood outside the entrance to the restaurant that Lily had sent him too. He saw Freya sitting inside and couldn’t help but admire her from a distance. He had promised Lily he would go in and give it a chance but that didn’t do much for him now. Now he was here and the idea of walking through that door terrified him more than anything. But if there was one thing Lucien Castle wasn’t it was a coward. he took a deep breath and buttoned his jacket before heading into the restaurant. He made his way over to the table where Freya was and sat down across from her.
“It seems our daughter is even more stubborn than the both of us. How did she manage to convince you to do this?”
Looking at herself in the mirror, Freya shook her head at the image. What has she let her youngest get her into? The feeling in the pit of her stomach screamed that this wouldn’t go well, that this was just a pointless idea. But she’d let Lily guilt her into it, so what could she do about it now? With a heavy sigh, the woman brushed her lightly curled hair from her face and grabbed her bag before leaving her home.
In little time, she made it to the restaurant and was seated. The place was nice, and people were nothing but friendly faces, but that did little to calm her. She hadn’t the slightest idea what to expect, but even so, the waiting to learn seemed so much worse.

Lucien was impressed at his daughters insistence and tenacity. She would make an excellent businesswoman someday if she wanted. She was level headed and knew what she wanted. Clearly she didn’t stop till she got it. “You make me very proud to call you my daughter. I look at you and i just..you are the only good thing i have done in my lifetime.” He smiled at her before finishing his drink and setting his glass down. “A dance?” He grabbed liky by the hand and pulled her to her feet before twirling her around. “What do you consider a good song? Should we wait for something jazzy, a waltz perhaps? Or are you thinking more one of those seductive r and b songs they play at prom that make fathers like me want to break the hands of every teenage boy?”

Lucien laughed when she said it was just mom. “You say that like it should make this easier. Like your mother is an easy women to love. She is stubborn and we don’t have the greatest history. We are both guilty of terrible things. But i think what scares me the most is what has always scared me. The mikaelson bond. Always and forever. It has never included me and i doubt that is going to change anytime soon.” He got off the couch and poured himself another drink. “I just don’t want you to be disappointed when this ends differently from how you want it to.”
Lily could tell by the look on his face that he wasn’t entirely amused by her setting them up but it didn’t matter to her. They both needed to acknowledge the feelings that she could see. When he said her name she just smiled. “Thank you.” she hugged him again. “You can do this. It’s just Mom.” she paused. “Hey. If it doesn’t work out think of it the way I do. At least you can say you tried. You both deserve that chance.” she smiled.
