Elder Cyrus
There was a pause between both my group and the attackers.
One moment we were all having a fun time, Gale and I bantering back and forth when there was a sudden breeze.
Lakota was in front of us holding a serrated knife in his bare hand all of a sudden.
It was only for a few seconds but we were all taken back by Lakota's quick bold reflexes in his act to protect us.
In astonishment, my eyes trailed up from my mate's hand to his eyes and saw something I had never wanted to see again.
They were glowing a dangerous yellow, more intense than his normal soft gold.
There was a look of calm rage.
It sent chills down my spine... that was a new feeling for me.
Not much scared me these days but my usually soft mate's expression was no joke and I knew this wasn't going to end well.
The sound of Lakota's blood splashing on the concrete broke the tension and everything moved rather quickly.
Gale took his arm away from me and ran into the fray.
I was only a second behind him.
There were about five guys against our three, easy.
Lakota turned his body inwards and used his elbow to jab it into his attacker's gut making him let go of his knife and he took it.
Flipping it in the air and catching the handle smoothly in his already wounded hand, he jabbed it into the assailant's neck.
The man gargled through his now useless throat and dropped hard.
I know I taught Lakota how to fight but I didn't think he would be so ruthless with it.
It both filled me with pride and frightened me at the same time.
His killing someone, without an inch of hesitation, was a sad sight to see and honestly, he didn't deserve it.
Why couldn't he just have it easy?
Fate was cruel to my mates and I was about done with it.
One of the hooded attackers came after me and as all the shock quickly passed.
I was finally able to process the scent of wolves.
So they weren't random people attacking us.
I grabbed his arm as he tried to punch me and turned my body into him, using his weight as I flipped him over my back on to his.
He hit the ground loudly.
His breath was knocked out of him and I brought my knee down on his sternum, crushing it inward and moved to go onto the next guy but there were none left.
It was then I recognized the musky scent that had been teasing my nose this whole time.
It reminded me of Leo Bateman, Lakota's father.
These were the Rogues from his pack.
How the hell did they find us?
The last man to drop was only moments after I was done with my one guy as Nicholas unlatched his teeth from the wolf's neck and let him fall, completely drained.
Wiping the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand and presented me with a rather sinister and bloody smile.
"You're slow, Cyrus."
"Oh no. We have another smart-ass Gale in our midst," I sighed as the previous excitement died down.
There was an uneasy laugh amongst us all.
I looked over at Lakota as he stood silently with a small smile like nothing had happened but I could see his eyes were telling a different story.
"Lakota are you okay?" I asked as I moved towards him.
"I'm fine."
His hand was still bleeding and it accrued to me that since his wolf was gone he wouldn't be able to heal like he used to.
He was practically human.
"Shit," I exclaimed
We needed to get his hand healed up quickly.
Gale glanced towards his bleeding hand too and understood exactly what had me worried.
Moving with his crazy speed he took Lakota's hand and brought it up to his mouth.
His eyes caught mine and I knew that this was a dangerous thing for him to do but he wasn't going to let his mate bleed one more second longer.
I could tell the moment Lakota's blood touched his lips.
His eyes turned from their warm brown to the sultry hungry black color that completely took over the whites of his eyes.
When I heard the moan leave Gale's lips I knew we had to get out of here fast.
Nicholas was on it in moments, as he ran to his brother in a blur and practically tore him from Lakota, taking him away from his mate and the fair.
As he was taken away there was a chilling growl that was definitely not a happy sound.
I was right behind them, as I grabbed Lakota in my arms and got out of here before we were caught by the humans.
And as we fled, there was one thing on my mind.
'Leo Bateman had a lot of explaining to do.'

Lakota Bateman
I was having so much fun today.
I didn't think it was possible to have this much enjoyment after the last few weeks but here I was, with my two mates and Nicholas at a local fair.
There were these huge 'rollercoasters' I was told that's what they were called.
There were so many people here that it was hard to keep from being swept away by the crowd of grinning humans.
It seemed that everyone was having just as much fun as me.
Festive lights adorned the whole giant park area, there games and food stand everywhere.
The air smelled of so many things it was hard to pinpoint them all.
High pitched music from the rides blasted in my ears to the point of pain but I could care less about this meaningless sort of pain, all I wanted to do was try everything.
At this current moment, I had one hand full of cotton candy and the other hand was some sort of pastry covered in sugar.
They were both so sweet and delicious, tastes I had never experienced before exploded in my mouth and took me to another plain of mouthwatering.
Gale took up his position to my left and Cyrus to my right while Nicholas stuck to the back as broody as ever it seemed.
This whole day he hadn't really said anything.
But after walking around all day sightseeing, something I had missed out on since going with Tegan and Connor, we found ourselves here.
"Lakota. Do you want to try some shooting?" Cyrus asked suddenly.
I glanced up at him with wide eyes.
"You want me to shoot these people?" I asked shocked.
Everyone ended up laughing and I couldn't figure out what was so funny but apparently... I said the wrong thing.
"No silly. It's a game. You shoot a target with a fake gun and get prizes for it," Gale informed me while placing his large hand on top of my head.
"Oh," I giggled.
"Are you saying you've never been to a fair, Lakota?" this time it was Nicholas who asked behind us.
He sounded generously curious and I turned to look back at him.
"No, I haven't," I answered softly my eyes falling towards the floor.
"Oh. I didn't mean..."
"Nick, it's fine. Just let it go for now," Gale said a bit firmly to his brother.
Nicholas glanced over at his older brother and a look passed between the two before he nodded.
My hand was quickly grasped and I was being pulled away from the two.
"Let's get a gun in those hands shall we?" Cyrus said tightening his grip.
"That's a terrible thing to say to a kid, Cyrus," Gale said, jogging up to catch up with us.
"Well to you everyone's a kid so..." he grumbled.
"Yes and I think it's time you hand over those weapons sunny," he joked and I smiled.
Cyrus just rolled his eyes and continued to guide me towards a booth full of hanging targets.
"Welcome. Would you like to try?" a man behind the booth with an unusually large grin stared at us with what seemed like greedy eyes.
I flinched back a little.
"Yes. Can we get a gun for this one?" Cyrus said to the man pointing at me, handing him money over the counter.
Why did this look like a shady deal?
"Sure thing," the man said and turned around taking one of the many guns hanging from the wall next to him and placed the weapon on the table.
"Go ahead kid," he said to me.
Tentatively I walked up to the counter and reached for the gun.
The moment it was in my hand I knew it was fake.
It was too light and cheap.
"The more bullseyes you get, the bigger your prizes are," the man advertised.
It was your standard long short barrel rifle, nothing special.
Since living with Cyrus, I knew quite a bit about guns.
My mate was a little obsessed with weapons in general and like to perfect every type of fighting style there was.
There was no scope on the gun so I had to brace myself on the counter with my elbows and held the gun steady.
I place the stock against my right shoulder as I looked down the short-crooked barrel.
I closed one eye and aimed a little off as I took the barrel into account and shot the target.
With the placement of the targets, they seemed a little too far away from what this gun was capable of but I hit the bullseye any way but just by a hair.
I see that the man was trying to pull a fast one on everyone who wanted to play his games.
But now that I had a feel for the toy, I was ready.
I heard Cyrus snicker behind me and lent over the counter towards the man, rather cockily.
"Can we get the giant wolf back there."
The man frowned at him as I moved towards the other target and pulled the trigger again.
********
The stuffed wolf was so big I had a hard time holding it in my arms.
"Damn Lakota, I didn't know you were that good at shooting, you almost had that guy in tears," Gale praised.
"Well duh he is. I trained him myself," Cyrus puffed up.
"Why though? When will you need guns to fight? You think your hunters or something?" Gale snickered.
"No but I think he needs to be well versed in all types of combat. That's the way that I like to fight and that's how he will too."
"Your teeth aren't enough for you then?" this was Nicholas.
"Not always, we can't just flaunt our shifts to everyone that picks a fight."
"You make a good point."
"Sucks for you. We can just hypnotize, unlike you sad wolves," Gale said poking his lip out with sad eyes.
I smiled behind my giant stuffed animal as Cyrus growled.
"You always have some smart comeback don't you," Cyrus's voice held a hint of irritation and humor.
"I can go all day kid, just try me," Gale grinned walking up behind him and throwing his arm around his shoulder.
I watched as he leaned his head down into Cyrus' neck and inhaled his scent rather heavily.
"I'd rather not, old man."
"I may be old but that only means I've got lots of experience under my belt and I can school you kid," Gale nuzzled his neck and Cyrus laughed.
"I'm sure you can," even though he was trying to sound nonchalant I could hear a little hitch in Cyrus's voice as Gale got closer.
The proximity was getting to him and Gale's charms were hard to push aside.
We turned a corner walking down an empty alley, caught up in our group's antics, when warning bells went off inside my head.
It happened so fast that all I could do was act.
I dropped the stuffed wolf in the dirt and moved without a thought.
I got in front of Gale and Cyrus so quickly I felt like I teleported.
For a split second, I saw a shiny gleam in the dark heading towards Gale's face and I reached out catching the blade in my bare hand.

Cerci's heels clicked against the cobble stone as she adjusted her black fitting top and dusted her matching pants.
When she reached the double doors she knocked firmly.
"Come in."
Taking a deep breath she pushed the doors open and took her place in front of the superiors desk and dropped to one knee with her arm laying across her ribs under her breast.
"What is it Cerci?" Superior asked and all Cerci could do was keep her eyes trained on the floor.
Biting her bottom lip she finally answered.
"He got away."
A scrap of a chair tore through the silence in the room and she flinched knowing her Superior was angry.
"What do you mean he got away?"
"He separated from his pack and we lost him in the commotion. I believe he was using the stone."
When Cerci's ears were met with laughter this caught her off guard.
Snapping her head up to look at the leader of their community in shock.
"Of course he did. Why wouldn't he? We gave it to them. Didn't we?"
She walked out from behind her desk and came to stop in front of Cerci.
"And it was used against us."
A hand gently caressed her hair and she tensed.
Superior's voice was calm and sultry, a bad mix, Cerci knew out of experience.
"But I believe that we gave the stones only to the mother, not the father," she questioned.
"I'm under the impression that he stole it from his mate, my Lady," she responded.
"Hmm, men. I truly hate those despicable creatures."
"Yes."
"What about the woman?"
Cerci shook her head.
"That one is completely protected by the stone. Even without the other it's impossible to find her, my Lady."
"This is rather disconcerting. Isn't it?"
She walked behind Cerci as she paced.
"We lose one parent and they both use the stone against us. I regret even considering giving them those gems. It's a pain even making those."
A ruffle of clothes came from behind her as she knelt down next to Cerci and pressed her lips to her ear.
"I want those boys back. My payment lasts forever and someone has to pay, right?"
Superior stood.
"Stand, child."
Cerci did as she was told and looked into the icy blue gaze of her leader.
"I'll do everything in my power to get what you want, my Lady."
"Good and Cerci... get my little pet back for me please," she said with a deadly smirk
A shiver ran down her spine at her Superior's tone and all she could do was a nod and close the door behind her.
Superior had come back from America to take over this district after the tragic passing of the last leader.
But she brought back with her an unhealthy obsession with her previous pet.
Cerci didn't know who this wolf was but his betrayal did a number on their leader.
If he ever did get caught and brought back here, he was in for a hell of a ride.

Prince Gale Dartanyanoff
We had just sat down to eat, and it looked like Lakota was ready to devour everything.
It just dawned on me that he hadn't eaten for days.
He would nibble on something but he wouldn't eat a full meal.
After that incident in the hallway and in the infirmary, Cyrus and I were trying to get him to eat for a while but he refused.
All along it was because of the hallucinations he told us about.
It hurt to know that, that was happening the whole time and we didn't know it.
Cyrus put down a breakfast sandwich in front of him and I watched as his eyes grew wide.
Taking a seat with the two I watched them eat and it reminded me of the other morning when I had bitten Lakota.
I didn't mean to, I tried to restrain myself but when he had pressed his tongue against mine and just the taste of him threw me in a frenzy.
It was the most beautiful blend of sweet and tangy.
An addictive taste if I ever knew one.
It was just as amazing as Cyrus', who had more of a bite to his blood.
It was quiet as they ate so I decided to make conversation.
"So Lakota, is it good?" I asked with a smile, leaning forward and placing my head on my folded hands.
He was hunched over his plate, kind of like a starved animal protecting his prey.
"Don't talk to me," he mumbled, as he buried himself in his food.
It was gone in a matter of seconds.
Both Cyrus and I glanced at each other and laughed.
"Someone's hangry," Cyrus chucked before sliding his own plate across the table towards Lakota.
He didn't even have to say anything, Lakota had already snatched it up and shoved it in his mouth.
"So what's on the agenda today?" I asked Cyrus as I watched our mate eat.
"I believe Alpha Avery and your father are finally talking. Or more like Avery is preventing murder in the house," he laughed.
"So I think we should take Lakota out and away from all this drama."
"Oh, okay. Can I bring Nicholas along?"
"Your brother?"
"Yeah."
"I don't see why not," Cyrus said, nodding.
"Is that okay with you Lakota?" I asked him and he glanced up and shrugged, to preoccupied by chewing.
"I'll go tell him to get ready. He's been really depressed lately and I thought I would get him out of his head and out of the house for a few hours," I explained.
"That's thoughtful of you," Lakota finally said around a mouthful of food.
"Where has he been anyway? I haven't seen him."
"Oh he's around. He likes to skulk in the shadows, he's just like a vampire that way," I snickered.
********
Our group stood in the middle of town.
Lakota pressed up against Cyrus as far as he could, taking in the sights.
He wasn't a big fan of all the cars passing by but besides that he was pretty excited.
I remember that he went out with Connor and Teagan a while back.
Both Cyrus and I not being in good terms had been fighting for Lakota's attention.
"So where do you want to start Nick?" I asked my brother as he stood in the back quietly.
Looking behind us and I watched his dark eyes catch mine before he shrugged.
"You act like I haven't been in town before. Ask your mate," he gestured with his hand towards Lakota.
"He seems like the most interested."
"Yes but I asked you," I answered calmly.
He seemed to always be in a bad mood.
Since his mother's murder, he never smiled or laughed.
The little boy I got to know when I came back home was gone and replaced with an angry, depressed shell that once was my little brother.
It pained me to see him like this and I would do anything to help him get back to his old self.
"You want to go eat or something?" this was Cyrus he had just wrapped his arm around Lakota.
Then he looked over at both Nick and I and smiled.
"Oh yeah that's right, you don't eat solid food. I guess it's a trip to the hospital then, time to get you guys a feeding tube," he snickered starting down the sidewalk.
"We could just use you as sustenance," I said, rolling my eyes at him.
"Just try it babe and see what happens," he sassed and I smiled.
He scoffed without looking at me and continued to drag Lakota.
Nicholas glanced at me and I could almost see a smirk on his face.

Lakota Bateman
My father had been interrogated by the Alpha several times since he came a week ago.
Alpha Avery had let him go, his senses telling him that the man was telling the truth and meant no harm to anyone.
It was hard to fool an Alpha's nose in a true interrogation but he still had a full security detail for both the pack and himself.
Elijah was not happy about this at all and was being detained in one of the vacant rooms in the house for the time being.
Teagan and I weren't very pleased about it either but it was being in proximity to him that had us mad not the fact that he was alive which Elijah seemed to be particularly obsessed with.
Currently I was outside on the porch as both Cyrus and Gale spared together.
Leaning up against the rail, I was watching silently.
Gale had apologized profusely about biting me like he did.
I told him that I loved every minute of it but it wasn't getting through to him.
He was so distraught till even Cyrus couldn't take it anymore and here they were, battling each other.
It stared on a serious note but I could see the teasing they were giving each other.
Gale had Cyrus in a head lock as he ruffled up his hair with a huge goofy grin.
Cyrus fought bravely but he was no match for Gale's strength.
The sound of footsteps echoing on the wooden porch had me looking behind to find none other than the man I really didn't want to see.
The slight smile on my face faded quickly as I gritted my teeth painfully to keep me from saying something we'd both regret.
"I heard you lost your wolf," his voice was soft as he came to stop beside me. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"No thanks to you."
"What? What does that mean?" he frowned at me, truly confused.
"And how is that even possible to lose him?"
"I lost him in exchange to find you and your mate."
The frown disappeared quickly replaced with a face of guilt.
"Why would you do that?"
"So that the Vampyr King could have his rightful vengeance against you all."
I turned my head away from him to look back at my mates who were too involved in their little game to notice my situation.
"I know that we attacked his relative for Nyla but honestly it was an order none of us could fight. We didn't even know why we had to kill him," he confessed regretfully.
I turned to face him fully now.
"Do you know anything or are you just your mates puppet?" I sneered.
He sighed and rested his elbows against the railing next to me.
He kept a good distance from me that I appreciated.
"I deserve your anger Lakota, I truly do. I blame myself for what happened to you and your big brother. I wasn't strong enough to fight your mother to save you, it makes me just as guilty as she. I can't even imagine what your life was like thus far."
"No I don't' believe you could and you never will."
An eerie hand suddenly caressed down my shoulder but I knew it wasn't real.
I closed my eyes... not now.
She had left me alone since last night.
I was starting to understand that I had to be touching my mates to get my hallucinations of mistress to disappear.
"Where did you end up Lakota?" his question was quiet.
"Don't you know?" I growled sarcastically.
He shook his head.
"Nyla never told me anything because she knew I would try and find you, to get you back."
His eyes narrowed as he brought up his mate.
His eyes were blazing with sorrow and what seemed like contempt.
The more I watched him the more I was able to see that he felt the loss of losing his children immensely.
And I was mad that I felt sorry at all.
'He's a liar, he knew where you were. He just wanted the power of the stone,' Mistress purred in my ear.
Gritting my teeth I continued to look at him, ignoring it as much as possible.
"You really didn't know?"
He gave me a sad smile before looking out towards the yard, his eyes drawn towards my mates.
"I always wanted to be a father, Lakota," he said and I couldn't help but stare at him.
"I wanted you and Teagan so much..." he paused as I watched his throat bob before he continued.
"And when your mother gave birth to your brother, then you I was beyond joyed."
Turning around he leant his back against the rail now.
"When Teagan was taken away I was broken. I knew she used him but I didn't know what for at the time. I looked everywhere for him but your mother hide him well and no one would tell me since everyone was under Alpha orders to not say anything."
I didn't say a thing just stayed quit and listen.
"You have no idea how angry I was with her. How much I wanted to kill her. It made me hate myself that the thought even entered my mind about harming a hair on my mates head but I loved my children more than anything. And that fact that she forced my wolf to stay away from you I couldn't tell you in words what I wanted to do to her."
"Then you disappeared," he sighed his voice wavered a bit.
I watched him reach up to press his fingers into his eyes as if he was trying not to cry.
I bit my lip preventing myself from approaching closer to him.
I felt the anguish coming off him as it took me a little to restrain myself.
He was a stranger, a man who was portrayed as a monster this whole time and now I was hearing his side.
And the truth was shocking.
He wasn't lying, I knew he wasn't and it made it even worse.
He wasn't the only one suffering when you thought about it from his prospective.
He was trapped just like Teagan and I, another tortured soul.
Just not physically.
'You gullible mutt,' shaking my head to get rid of her voice I turned away from him.
"What about the stone. Do you have it?" I stared out towards the tree line as I asked.
"I have it."
This caused me to spin back to face him.
"You do?"
Slowly he reached in his pocket and opened his hand to revealed a tear shaped, smooth dark red stone, it almost resembled a ruby but there was something sinister about it.
As I stared at it I felt like I was being pulled in by an unknown force and I had to snap myself out of it.
There was serious power in this little rock and it screamed danger.
"I may not know what your mother's motives are for the things she does but as her mate I take responsibility for her actions and I am willing to take her punishments as well. Nyla needs to be stopped, she's not right mentally, something happened and I don't know what. But I'm here to help you stop her by any means necessary."
His golden eyes were steady and bright.
He meant every word.
"And what if you had to kill her?"
We bother spun around to find both Cyrus and Gale standing on the other side of the porch railing.
Cyrus had asked the question and his face showed the seriousness of the question as he tested him.
Cyrus just asked a wolf if he would kill his own mate.
Something that was impossible for any mated wolf to do.
Just the thought of me killing my own mates made my insides twist with pain.
My father was quite for the longest time, before he sighed.
"I honestly don't know. I don't think I have it in me to kill her but I've wanted to."
"Thinking and doing are two very different things," Gale said, his deep voice was hard.
"Yes they are."
Then suddenly he turned to look at me, his gold eyes meeting my own gold ones and they set into a narrowed gaze of resolve.
"If it came to it and it was the only thing I could do... Then yes, I would," his voice was frail with pain but it held truth that spoke volumes.
"Good," both Gale and Cyrus said simultaneously while both my father and I stared at each other without a word.
"You've suffered, you and your brother both. I can't change the past but I can change the future and no one is going to touch you again, not while I'm still breathing. You're finally here, in front of me... never again will you be taken."

Lakota Bateman
A warm hand traveled down my back, their fingertips causing shivers to run through my body, waking me up.
With a sigh I turned into them to find Gale's brown eyes staring into mine.
Blinking up at him I smiled.
"Lakota," he whispered leaning over me.
With a hum, I turned my head to press my lips against his.
His hand roamed down my side slowly, his fingers a soft caress forcing shivers to run down my spine.
His lips trailed from my mouth and down my cheek to my neck.
He spent a bit of time tasting and kissing my skin there till he reached the mark he gave me and my body tensed up with pleasure.
"Show me your passion, Lakot," he said huskily.
His lower body pressed fully against mine now and I felt his hardness, my breath caught.
"Gale," I whimpered.
"Yes?" his voice held a smile.
"Please," I don't know where this wanton part of me was coming from but all I know was that I wanted him badly.
"Oh beg me more, little Lakot," his lips skimmed my shoulder.
The feel of his teeth scraping against my skin had me closing my eyes in pleasure.
With a quick yank he had me up on my knees above him, his hips between my legs.
Something was rubbing against me as I hovered over him.
Gasping I glanced down to see him pressing his member into me.
"Do you want to ride me, Lakot," his deep husky tone vibrated through my blood stream.
And I answer truthfully...
"Yes," I whispered and received a beautiful smile in return.
"Then do it," he purred before pressing deeper and in moments he was in me and I was sinking down on him.
We both gasped as I settled completely on him.
Interlocking our fingers together he helped me sit up as the feeling of him filling me made it hard to concentrate on moving.
"Come on baby, ride me," he panted.
Looking down at him I noticed his fangs were peeking through his slightly agape mouth as I slowly lifted up and down.
Those beautiful brown eyes swirled with silver as he stared up into my eyes.
A smile lifted up the corner of his lip.
"I like you on top, Lakot."
"Do you?" I panted.
"Yes," his eyes traveled down to stared at what was happening with us down there.
Letting go of one of my hands he reached down and grabbed my member in his hands.
I gasped suddenly, my body bowing forwards from the feel of his warm hands encircling me.
"Gale," I groaned.
Smirking all he did was watch me closely as he leisurely massaged me up and down.
In this position I could feel him pushing against that spot Cyrus had found from last night over and over again.
My body was tightening with the multiple stimulation.
"Gale, I'm so close."
It was then that another pair of hands gripped my hips and with a cry I snapped my head over my shoulder to find Cyrus behind me.
"Let me help you."
And suddenly he was guiding me up and down, faster and faster.
Gale's hand froze on my member as he closed his eyes.
"Oh Goddess, Yes," he moaned.
I was too close to the edge to even speak anymore.
"Does he feel good baby?" Cyrus whispered in my ear never stopping my hips.
"Hmm," I breathed.
"He's filling you up nicely, too," his voice rumpled low with a purr that had my blood on fire.
When did Cyrus become so dirty-mouthed?
"More, please," Gale suddenly growled.
I glanced down at him to find his eyes a complete blazing sliver and his lips pulled back to show off his fangs.
It should have been scary but instead I was fully attracted to it.
So while Cyrus took over my hips I leant down to lick at those glossy sharp incisors.
With just that gentle swipe his fang had cut the tip of my tongue and I softly caressed it on his.
I knew I was pushing, he didn't want to bite me out of fear of hurting me but I trusted him with everything I had.
And if he did happen to end up going too far, I didn't mind.
If I could give up my life for something it would be for my mates.
His body stiffened then, the taste of my blood exploding on his taste buds.
I watched in awe as the silver in his eyes darkened to a pitch black so fast I didn't have time to react to what was going to happen till it was already done.
With fast hands he gripped my hair in tight fists till my head was yanked to the side roughly and he struck.
His sharp fangs pierced my neck where his mark lay so fast that it had me lose all control I screamed, not in pain though but in absolute pleasure that I was unprepared for my climax to erupt like this.
I spilled everything between us as my blood filled his mouth over and over in greedy gulps.
His arms wrapped around me so tightly I could hardly breathe.
And even though I was becoming light headed I loved it all.
Cyrus wasn't needed anymore as Gale took over, his hips pounding into me and that same spot so hard that I was on the verge of climaxing again.
"Gale," I whispered so quietly because that was all my voice could produce.
When I felt him release into me he finally unlatched his teeth from my neck and let out the loudest roar.
His muscles relaxed abruptly as we both collapsed, me on top of him.
A hand all of a suddenly was caressing my sweaty hair and a wet warm tongue swiped the side of my neck to stop the bleeding.
"Are you okay?" Cyrus asked as he lifted his face from my neck.
Gale looked too dazed to even talk.
"Yeah. What's wrong with him?" I asked worried but Cyrus laughed.
"He's completely sated. You can say that he's drunk off you. Vampires are very susceptible to their own mates blood, it's like a drug in a way, no others blood can make them as vulnerable, than yours and mine when he's had enough to fill him. When he comes too he's going to be so disappointed in losing control like that," Cyrus chuckled as he took his hand from my hair and replaced it in Gale's.
I glanced down at my mate as he lay there eyes glazed over, I smiled. He had nothing to worry about.
He would never hurt me and he needed to start believing that.
"You seem to know a lot about vampires, Cyrus."
He was still gazing down at Gale, his hand softly combing through his dark brown hair.
Their relationship has made a full one eighty, since their first meeting.
I couldn't help but smile, at the loving expression in Cyrus's eyes, as he stared at our mate.
"I'm an Elder. We are taught a lot more than regular pack members. Not saying that a wolf like you couldn't get hold of this information from the pack library but you'd have to want to know this information to even start searching for it. Elders on the other hand go to special schools to learn about themselves and learn about other species. It just so happens that vampires peeked my curiosity more than any other supernatural creature."
"I see," was all I could say.
I didn't know what it was like going to school or living in a pack.
I may have stayed with Cyrus for the last few years since my escape but I wasn't much of a pack member.
"Let's get you guys cleaned and have breakfast," he offered looking up at me with a soft expression.
I nodded as I leant down to whisper in Gale's ear.
"Come on wake up, Gale. I need you."
And just like that his eyes snapped open, that black hungry gaze was gone and replaced with his sweet, deep brown.

Lakota Bateman
"If that's what you want, Lakota. Ask..." he said sternly and I gulped at the serious expression he had and the need I felt.
"Please," I pleaded staring him straight in the eyes and hnd he smiled.
"Please what?"
Tisking I covered my face.
"Never mind," I whispered in embarrassment.
"Nope, too late. Tell me Lakota, use your words."
Taking a deep breath I scrounged up the courage and reached down combing my fingers through his hair.
"Please, Cyrus. Take me in your mouth."
His blue eyes shined then and I was rewarded accordingly.
Gasping at the warmth of his mouth as it surrounded me, my fingers tightened their grip.
"Oh Goddess..." I moaned as my head fell back on the pillow.
All I could do was close my eyes and feel.
This was the first time Cyrus and I have ever done this and it was amazing.
A hand caressed my hair back and I opened my eyes to see Gale softly gazing into my face.
"You're so beautiful, my Lakot," his voice was so soft as I panted leaning into his hand.
"Kiss me," his whispered demand made me light headed as I did as he said.
Leaning up I pressed my lips to his.
"Show me how much you want this, Lakota," he said against my mouth.
Opening my mouth I bit down on his bottom lip earning a growl from him.
"Careful there. I might just bite back," Gale said his hand grabbing the back of my hair and all I could do was lay there as my mates pleasured me.
It was then that felt something cold being poured between my bottom.
Gasping I pulled away from Gale's kiss and glanced down at Cyrus who sat back with a bottle in his hand.
Cyrus smiled mischievously as he continued to pour the clear liquid on me.
"Just a bit of preparation."
He threw the bottle down and his fingers followed where the cold liquid.
His finger reached a part of me that head never been touched and I tensed.
"Relax, Lakot."
I snapped my gaze to Gale as he let go of my hair and placed his palm against my cheek making me stare into his reassuring gaze.
And just like that Cyrus's finger pressed into me and I squeezed my eyes tight at the weird sensation.
When he started moving his finger all I could do was pant as I did start to relax to his touch.
"That's it. Let him make you feel good," Gale purred next me as he pet me anywhere he could get his hands.
"Cyrus," I cried as it felt like he was trying to stretch me out for him.
"Do you want me?" Cyrus asked.
Did they think I could think straight during all this?
"Hurry, please," I moaned holding my arms out for him.
His face darkened and with a growl he pounced on me suddenly almost knocking the air out of me as he laid his body atop mine.
Pushing my legs up and over his arms we just laid there for a minute.
He was panting, his body hot and his face strained as he retrained himself it seemed.
"You're absolutely sure?" he rasped, holding himself back.
Even though he was past his limits he still put me above all else and my heart melted.
Smiling I reached out and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him softly.
"Make love to me, Cyrus."
We had been together for so long, holding our feeling back the whole time.
I had never been mentally prepared to completely give myself to Cyrus before but finally we would become one.
His hand slide down between us and soon I felt him press against me.
Inching further and further inside until he was fully seated within me.
With a whimper I squeezed my eyes shut at the uncomfortable feeling of being stretched.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I held on tight.
Slowly he started to move.
Gasping I buried my fingers in his hair and bit down on his shoulder, the same exact spot I marked him.
With a roar he lost all control and I instinctually sunk my teeth deeper as he rode me hard and fast.
"Cyrus," I cried, his body slid back and forth against mine.
"I'm sorry baby. I've wanted to do this for so long. I lost control," he panted in my ear, slowing down.
My other hand slid down his back as I dug my nails into his skin.
I could feel his hard muscles moving under his soft skin.
He was mine, all mine wasn't he.
Well not quite I thought as I turned my head to look at Gale who had moved to kneel on the floor next to use.
His silver eyes swirling with heat as he watched us.
Unable to take anymore he leaned over, grabbing Cyrus face in his hand.
Cyrus almost stopped moving but when Gale pressed his lips to his it just sent him over board.
His thrusts became deeper as they kissed above me.
I wasn't going to lie, this was the hottest thing I've ever seen.
Placing his hands on either side of my head, Cyrus broke there kiss and rose up above me.
And with his adjustment I was met with a new sensation.
I inhale sharply at the feeling of him pressing on something inside.
Cyrus noticed this and gave a smirk.
"So there it is," he said before thrusting his hips upward aiming true.
A scream was torn from my mouth before Cyrus leaned forward and sealed our lips together, swallowing my cries.
Over and over he torture that same spot until I couldn't hold it back anymore.
My stomach tightened as the sensation became stronger and stronger.
"Do it, Lakota," Cyrus purred gripping my hips tight in his hands and I did.
With a cry I gave in to the feeling and let go, releasing all over both of us.
Cyrus followed me a moment later.
We were both panting as he collapsed on me.
Reaching out towards him I caressed his face causing him to close his eyes and lean into my palm.
There were no words after that, how could there be.
Words couldn't fully express how we felt in this exact moment.
A warm damp towel was suddenly pressed against my stomach as Gale stood over us wiping us clean.
Throwing the towel on the floor, he turned off the lights and pulled the covers over us, without a word.
With Cyrus on one side of me and Gale on the other I knew, even when I protested against it, that I was safe here in between my mates and to be honest I never wanted to leave.
The struggles of the day melted away for us all and I let myself enjoy the peace they gave me.
The pleasant lingering hum of my body that Cyrus had created and the warmth of being wrapped in loving arms is what finally put me to sleep.

Lakota Bateman
"We're at your command. If a task is too much for you to handle on your own, just ask and we will drop everything and come to you without hesitation."
His voice was echoing in my head and vibrating throughout my entire body.
Glancing over at Cyrus I saw his eyes were darkening as he watched.
I could tell that even though he warned Gale, he felt the same.
Every word that came from my mates lips, Cyrus agreed with them all.
"Weren't you listening?" I stuttered as I tried to distract myself from Gale.
"I want to be stronger, not rely on you all the time."
"Yes but weren't you listening to your mates? All you have to do is ask and our strength is yours. That is what being mated means, you're never alone. You will never suffer alone, your suffering means ours."
His hand left my chin and trailed down my neck bringing out a shiver from me.
"You think we would allow that?" Cyrus backed up against the bed and sat as he watched all this without a word.
My attention was forced back to Gale as his hand now traveled down my chest.
With wide eyes and a gasp, I stared up at him in shock when his finger passed over my shirt clad nipple.
He gripped my waist between his hands and spun me around suddenly till my back faced him.
Burring his face in my neck all I could do was stare at the wall as he breathed hot hair on my neck.
"Gale what are you doing," I whispered.
"Showing you my weakness," he growled in my ear before nipping at the lobe.
Instantly my legs gave up on holding my weight.
What was this?
His arms snaked around my pulling me into him before he walked backwards and turned me till I was standing in front of Cyrus.
Embarrassment clouded my mind and my cheeks as I was forced to gaze into my mate's eyes as I was ravished by the other.
"Do you like it Lakota?" Cyrus' voice was a deep husky tones.
Reaching out Cyrus hooked a finger in my collar as I watched as he sharpened a nail and dragged it down till my shirt was completely sliced in half.
Gale contributed by sliding it off my shoulders and down my arms, taking advantage of my exposed skin and trailing kisses down my neck and back.
"Ah," I gasped at the cool touch of his lips.
"We only want your happiness Lakota."
Cyrus said trailing a finger up and down my stomach.
My muscles flinched at his touch.
"We want to please you always and Gale is right."
Reaching down he grabbed my hips and pulled me in-between his legs now.
His strong scent of spring rain was overwhelming me as both Gale's and Cyrus's scents mixed, doing me in.
"We're nothing without you."
"We only exist for you and you alone Lakota. You are our purpose so let us protect you."
His hooded eyes looked at me once more before he leaned forward and kissed my chest.
Closing my eyes I was thrown in sensations that consumed my whole being.
My skin was on fire as their touch was shooting shockwaves through me.
I didn't know much about physical contact besides the ones I was familiar with in the dungeon and their disgusting touches were nothing like the sweet, delicious caresses my mates gave me.
There was no pain here, just pure pleasure.
Was it wrong for me to want this to never end?
To feel their questing lips and fingers traveling all over my skin.
And one set of those fingers had slowly journeyed down to the button on my pants and slid them down my legs.
Before I could protest Gale reached over grabbing my face and guiding it to meet his lips over my shoulder.
My muscles relaxed at the feel of his cool mouth on mine.
"Open for me, little Lakot."
"Gale," I whimpered as I obeyed.
"Yes, just like that. Such a good boy," his tongue met with mine as my lips parted and he caressed my tongue sensually.
Cyrus kissed down my chest and my stomach nipping at my skin as he went.
His thumbs stroked my sides in soothing circles and his warm breath was making me overly sensitive.
Gale finally pulled away, leaving me gasping for air.
I stared with heavy lids at him and he smiled sinfully before going back to kissing my neck.
These men were going to be the death of me.
Suddenly both of them licked me at the same time, Gale tasted the mark at my shoulder he had given me and my body seized up but I was thrown forwards as Cyrus circled my nipple with his tongue.
Crying out my legs gave out and I was guided forward to lay on Cyrus.
"Don't let just Gale have a taste of you, Lakota. Kiss me too."
His blue eyes were electric as he made his demand and I could do nothing but do as he says.
Crawling up his body I reached his head and leaned down to press my lips against his.
Sighing I softened to his warm lips on mine.
His tongue trailed across my bottom lip and I opened up.
"You seem to obey Cyrus, a lot better than me, Lakot," Gale growled into my ear as he ran his hand down the back of my thigh.
Moaning I broke the kiss and looked over at him while Cyrus busied himself with his own mark on my other shoulder and my eyes all but rolled in the back of my skull.
"He likes that a lot. Doesn't he?" Cyrus's panted.
Someone was toying with the edge of my boxers slowly they were dragged down to follow the pile of my clothes on the floor till I was completely naked.
"Do you want this?" this came from Cyrus as he pulled his head away from my shoulder and looked me straight in the eyes.
"We'll stop right here and now, if you don't want us, to go any further," Gale added behind me.
They were my mates of course I wanted them to go further than this.
I wanted to feel them completely for the first time.
But was I ready to take them both for my first time?
"No, please. Don't stop," I panted.
With two loud growls I was thrown on my back while both my mates took a spot on either side of me.
Together they ran their hands gently down my body and I closed my eyes enjoying the feeling.
Running their fingers through my hair, caressing my lips with their thumbs.
Their fingers roamed all over putting me in a deep relaxation.
I was in a sea of pleasure and every touch vibrated against my skin.
"Who do you want first, Lakota?" Gale panted next to my ear.
His breath fanned the side of my face and it caused shivers to run down my spine.
"What?" I opened my eyes wide in shock as Cyrus kissed my neck before he sat back with Gale.
Glancing up to their faces I went from Cyrus to Gale and back again. This was a difficult unfair decision to make.
As I gazed at Cyrus from head to toe, his breath taking blue eyes were dark, those full lips were a temptation for sure.
His brown hair hung in his face as he pulled his shirt off over his head, his tan skin and build with well-defined muscles.
His stomach flexed with ever movement showing off that six pack I was never sick of seeing.
I've watched him train multiple times through the time we've spent together and even though I never said it, it was always my weakness.
My eyes traveled to the other side of me to Gale, my new mate.
The surprise we weren't expecting but I was happy he was here too.
He completed this relationship.
Those deep dark brown eyes weren't brown now.
Like molten silver they shone bright.
I should have flinched from them but I was far from backing away.
His brown hair was a shade darker than Cyrus and styled up to the side only to become messy when he too took his shirt off joining Cyrus.
He was paler then Cyrus but not by much.
My eyes traveled from his face down his body stopping at the deep v cut at his groin that disappeared into his jean, which he was starting to unbutton.
The devilish smirk on his face and the tips of his fangs peeking out of his mouth all but did me in.
"Choose, baby," Cyrus said huskily.
They wanted me to pick who I wanted for my first?
I watched the both of them taking the rest of their clothes off and I was greeted with a vision of both of their excitements.
A blush covered my cheeks as I averted my eyes but couldn't quite keep them away.
"I can't," I moaned scooting back till my back touched the headboard.
Trying to get as much space from them as the bed allowed.
Cyrus smirked before reaching out towards my ankles and yanking me down to lay flat on my back.
He undid his jeans and crawled forward till he was in between my legs.
"Then how about I save you the trouble and take you first," he growled.
Turning his face he kissed the inside of my thigh, traveling closer and closer to a part of me that couldn't take much more of this.
I bit my lip as I watched him reach my member and waited in anticipation as to what he might do but was disappointed as he passed it and continued to kiss up my stomach.
"Ugh," I whined as he chuckled.
"What?" he asked.
"Tease," I pouted.
He rose a brow at this and narrowed his eyes at me.
"If that's what you want. Lakota. Ask me..." he said sternly.
I gulped at the serious expression he had and the need I felt.

Lakota Bateman
"I'm held prisoner... by the bond your mother and I have. When she took you away from me, Teagan... that was the first time I ever hated my mate. And then she demanded using her mating and Alpha influence to keep me away from you, Lakota. She ordered me never to go near you again. Using my wolf's love for her against me. And as much as I wanted to save you... my body wouldn't let me defy her order," he paused.
"I love your mother... she is my other half and it's a curse. I can never fully get away from her and I can never fully resist her."
********
A few hours later I was sitting alone on my bed, leaning up against the head board, just staring at the wall opposite of me.
I was thinking of what my father had told Teagan and me.
So it was my mother who was the mastermind behind all our suffering.
How could she do that to us? Did she have no heart at all?
Giving her children up like that just for magic stones?
Just then a familiar voice was echoing in my ear and I did my best to ignore her.
"Oh pet," she purred making my skin crawl.
"He left you to me to be tortured day in and day out. Your mother's not the only evil one here," she laughed.
Her hand came and caressed my hair softly which in turn made me shiver.
"Both of them are. But do you want to know why they gave you up?" she whispered.
"Because you're nothing. Nothing but fodder, mutt. My personal walking sustenance."
Crawling over me, she sat down on my lap but I barely felt it.
I just had to keep reminding myself that she was a figment of my imagination.
Slowly I caught her hand raise up to her mouth and everything in me stilled.
'It isn't real... It isn't real... It isn't real...' I chanted as I watched her take her gloved finger in her mouth and bite down on the leather, pulling it off her hand with her teeth.
As if in slow motion she reached out and I couldn't help but stare in horror.
"No," I whined but there was no stopping her touch.
The feel of her hand pressing up against my neck brought back the memories of how it felt and I screamed.
Letting the loudest scream escape my mouth because there was nothing else I could do but endure, like Is always have and I always will, it seemed.
All I could remember was thrashing around as the pain ran through my body like a constant current of electricity.
"What's going on," someone exclaimed as they burst into my room.
It was hard to hear over my own screams.
Soon I was being held down.
"Shit," I heard a deep voice that sounded a lot like Gale's curse, as something shattered somewhere in the room
A pair of warm hands were now cupping my face, opening my eyes I was forced to stare in a pair of piercing blue eyes.
"C-Cyrus," I stuttered through the pain.
"Yes, it's me. Tell us what's happening," he asked, his voice held such a desperate edge.
"It hurts, she won't leave me alone," I cried.
"Okay," reaching down he pulled me in his arms, laying my head against his chest and caressed my hair soothingly.
"Who is she, Lakota?" this was a different voice.
Glancing up I saw Teagan standing at the edge of the bed giving me his usual expressionless face.
But even though his face was always blank you could see the fire behind those black eyes.
A fire that burned so hot, fueled by his rage.
"Mistress."
Just with that one word it made the whole room drop several degrees.
Cyrus' arms tightened around me while I saw Teagan's eyes slowly light up, a red ring was circling his iris.
"Where is she?" the bed dipped behind me and I was wrapped in another pair of strong arms.
I instantly was filled with bit of a reprieve from her constant torment, finally after waking form the infirmary.
Being in both of their arms seemed to lessen the pain bit by bit, until it was completely gone and I could think again.
"In my head," I answered.
"She won't leave me alone. She's always there," I whimpered.
"Shh, you're fine now. She's not here anymore, right?" Gale said petting my head and I nodded.
"Hey, Teagan. Can you give us a minute?" Cyrus asked into my hair.
Without a word he was gone, shutting the door behind him.
*********
Both my mates cooed and hushed me as I lay between them.
I was nothing but a bother to them at this point I felt.
I need to prove that I was valuable in some way not just a liability.
A mentally unstable person who needed saving all the time.
Suddenly I wasn't feeling comforted, I was feeling angry at all the reassurance they were giving me.
Tearing myself away from their arms I shot off the bed and swung around to face them with narrowed eyes.
"I'm not a pup. I don't need you two to come to my rescue at every turn."
I knew I was lashing out at them for no good reason but this self-hatred inside of me kept growing and it needed a place to go.
They both just sat there with shocked expressions.
"I know I'm weak. I know I can't keep up with you two physically and I have a weak mind. I'm an Achilles heel for you. So don't. Don't coddle me like a child. I need to learn to walk on my own two feet and work hard at being your equal," I exclaimed.
With them not connected to me I felt the hand of mistress as she casually placed it on my shoulder and I physically flinched.
See even touching them saved me from more of my weaknesses.
It was my curse to never truly have peace it seemed and I had to learn to live with the pain, like I have all my life.
There was no wolf to hide in now.
I was fully exposed and forced to experience the worst of what this world had to offer.
"What are you talking about?" this caused me to look up at Cyrus, who was the one to speak just then.
"Your about the strongest person I know Lakota. There's nothing weak about you. And it's that strength that makes you so stubborn sometimes, you think you're the only one that should suffer but that's not true."
Cyrus slid off the bed and walked up to me.
I looked up into his blue eyes and saw them soften as he gazed down at me.
"I'm not alone when I say that everything that you are is everything that we want. Your past doesn't effect how we feel about you. What you may turn into doesn't scare us because we'll be right there with you to pull you back to us," Cyrus continued.
The bed shifted as Gale got up and came to stand with us now.
"I'm not an Angel, Lakot. I know what it's like to fight for your life. And right now I know that all you're trying to do is survive what the world has dealt you. But don't push us away. We're here to help you through all the tough times and laugh with you through the good times. Even I couldn't have crawled out of the dark hole I was in without help."
Reaching out he pinched my chin between his forefinger and thumb and lifted it up till I was looking right into his deep brown eyes.
Instantly the mistress disappeared at his touch.
Slowly but surely his eyes turned a hypnotic silver as he stared at me and that familiar jasmine scent of his permeated the air and my body caught fire.
His thumb raised up and caressed my bottom lip softly, I lost my breath suddenly and my eyes dazed.
"Gale," I heard Cyrus warned him quietly.
But Gale just smiled, showing me his beautiful pearl white teeth and fangs that were growing larger.
"We'll help you, my little lakot," his voice was now a delicious purr. What was happening?
"Lean on us and we'll do everything in our power to fulfill your wishes."
Leaning down he ran his nose from my shoulder and up to my ear.
"We're at your command. If a task is too much for you to handle on your own, just ask and we will drop everything and come to you without hesitation."

Lakota Bateman
There was a raging battle going off in my head.
I couldn't really tell what was real or not.
Sometimes I was back to reality, surrounded by familiar comforting smells and looking into the faces of those I loved dearly.
Gale and Cyrus seemed to be everywhere I turned it seemed.
But then in a split second I was seeing mistress.
She was an illusion, I knew she was but it was so real.
Even when this mistress touched me I was consumed with pain that I just couldn't get away from but I was all internal.
I couldn't even seemed to react anymore, there was no escape from her now and I couldn't run away from her touch.
She was haunting me, stuck to me like a leech.
Right now the only thing saving me from her coming back into my head was my hatred for the man in the basement.
I had been pacing for a while.
Itching to get my hands on him.
I wanted to show him what he had cost his 'sons'.
I wanted to him to feel the same treatment that I received, that Teagan received all our lives.
Feel the pain, the utter hopelessness.
The loneliness along with the feeling of being trapped and never escaping.
I want him to know what it felts like to slowly go insane.
"Where is he?"
This caused me to stop my continuous pacing and watch Elijah come rushing down the hallway.
Gale moved in his way quickly but the old man overpowered him easily.
Now Cyrus was involved and it was then I noticed as they were both distracted that this was out chance.
Both Teagan and I spared each other a glance before we took advantage of the commotion and rushed to the door.
Throwing it open just big enough for both of us to fit through I slammed it shut while Teagan reached down and lifted the heavy metal bar and laid it in place.
Leaving just the two of us and our father.
Looking around I was starting to notice that this place almost resembled my old prison. It was cold, dark, and damp. C
ells lined the walls as we made out way to the very last one.
And there sat the man himself.
He was no longer in wolf form but as his human self.
So this is what our father looked like.
For a wolf where aging was a slow process he looked surprisingly weathered.
There were slight lines around his mouth.
His eyes were dark with bags and his hair was the same color as mine but disheveled.
With a frown he glanced up and his golden eyes widened.
Shooting to his feet he rushed to the bars and grabbed them tightly.
"Oh, Moon Goddess and Wolf Spirits. It's so good to know you're alive and well," he gasped.
Teagan rushed up to him baring his canines.
His eyes were glowing a faint red as he glared at our 'Father.'
He nodded and staring Teagan in the eyes.
"I guess you're not as well as I hoped," his mouth thinned from his own words.
"No we're not. You left us to rot in a dungeon and to be tortured day in and day out for years," I snapped.
"If I had known what your mother was planning I would have stopped her or at least taken you away."
He looked at Teagan, a sincere expression on his face.
"Really?" I let the sarcasm roll off my tongue.
He looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
"Yes. You are my sons. My flesh and blood. I would never want to harm you."
"No but having others do it, is okay?" Teagan growled.
He hung his head.
"If there was any way of saving you I would have."
"So you're saying you had no knowledge of 'mother dearest' taking your son's away, twice."
Then he frowned, pausing at my words.
"Son..."
"Don't call me that," I snarled in his face.
"I'm sorry, I understand I have no rights to that anymore."
"No, no you really don't," Teagan glared over at him.
He paused before speaking again.
"I had no idea what was happening when you were taken from me, Teagan. And by the time my second son was taken. I honestly could do nothing when your mother took you away, Lakota."
"Well you didn't prevent it from happening, again," Teagan said.
"You're the Alpha. You could have formed a rescue mission, to save your own 'Flesh and blood'," I told him, pacing like a caged wolf in front of him.
His brows furrowed then.
"You're mistaken," he whispered.
"How so?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm not the Alpha, Lakota."
His gold eyes glanced up at me and they held such regret and shame I had to back away from him.
"Then who is?" I demanded softly.
"Your mother."

Elder Cyrus
"My fathers here," those three words was all it took to make us all freeze in shock.
But the shock didn't last for very long because with blurring speed both Lakota and Teagan were already disappearing in the trees, one of them giving out a deadly growl.
With a curse I took off after my mate along with Gale beside me and the rest of the group.
"How is he moving so fast?" Gale asked in confusion at the speed which our mate was running.
"I don't know but at the moment there's not much that can surprise me after what we just witnessed in that infirmary."
"I guess we can chalk it down to the Seer again," he growled.
I glanced at him for a second then trained my eyes back on the two brothers.
Why was their father here all of a sudden?
Didn't he know that he was on everyone's shit list?
Lakota was so lite on his feet I saw.
They were barely touching the forest floor.
The seer really did give Lakota her powers.
I didn't know much about Seers but I did know that they had an arsenal of different powers not many other supernatural being had the luxury to have.
But the big question was why would she take Lakota's wolf and give her powers to him?
The trees had turned into a blurry mass of green as we closed in on the borderline.
The unfamiliar smell of another wolf invaded my senses.
He really is here.
We all came to a stop, moments after Lakota and Teagan arrived and there stood a deep gray wolf with white paws.
And just like Lakota his eyes were a deep gold.
Clenching my teeth I walked past the two siblings glaring daggers at the man.
"What was the purpose of coming here now?" I growled taking a protective stance in front of Lakota.
This grabbed the older wolfs attention and he finally looked at me.
Slowly we all held our breath as he walked closer crossing the border line and into our territory willingly.
He just publicly placed himself in a vulnerable position, in front of the Alpha no less.
Then he suddenly the wolf tucked his tail between his legs and lowered himself to the ground in an act of surrender.
Stunned we all watched him, his ears laid down in perfect submission.
I took a deep breath to see if this was some sort of trap but no... there were no other scents but his.
Footsteps behind me approached as I glanced up to find Avery staring down at him, his expression gave nothing away.
"You are giving yourself up?" he asked, his tone was stern yet soft.
The older wolf closed his eyes and never moved.
"If this is what you want but just know, you are not well liked here and everyone wants you dead. You may have not done anything to me and mine but the ones I have allied with would have your head if they had anything to say about it."
Again the wolf didn't even flinch.
"So be it."
Reaching down Alpha Avery grabbed the back of his scruff while Connor who had rushed forward before his mate could and blocked his path.
The wolf obediently followed.
"Well, that was unexpected," Gale said as he watched as the four of them walked off while both Gale and I stayed behind.
Sighing I turned towards Lakota but his eyes were trained only on his father.
"Come on, let's get you inside to rest," I said touching his shoulder to guide him but I was met with resistance.
"I don't feel like resting," his flat tone made me blink as I turned back to him only to see dull, vacant gold eyes staring back into mine.
Instantly my blood ran cold.
When I looked over at Gale I saw he had noticed the same thing and closed his eyes in dejection.
Lakota barely spared us a glance as he walked right past us and back to the house.
I was sure he was more interested in his father than us.
Vengeance was on his mind and nothing else.
"What do we do?" Gale asked, lines were etched deep in his face as we both watched his back.
Was there anything we could do?
It was like Teagan all over again.
Getting him to finally be part of society was hard enough when all he ever wanted to be was in wolf form.
To get him to accept his human form was difficult enough.
No after all he'd been through with the Syrin... the Seer goes and brings back all those terrible memories for him.
It was like starting at square one.
I'd seen the same look in his brother's eyes back when they trained for I-Division a few years ago.
All the private training sessions we had just to get him to accept people getting close to him.
Lakota hadn't been driven insane like Teagan but he wasn't far off when I took him in.
"Trust," I said, turning towards Gale.
"Building trust."
"Trust," Gale echoed my words.
"But for now we need to keep an eye on our mate so he doesn't hurt himself or others. He's not himself and honestly I don't think he ever will be again."
"Don't," Gale's voice was strained
"I'm only being realistic. Can you go back to who you once were if you relived the most horrific moments in your life. And in Lakota's case that means reliving the same nine years of torture over and over again. That would break anyone."
Gale didn't say anything... he couldn't.
"No one's mind would be able to handle that. That's years upon years of therapy just to get back to being okay but never normal."
There was a knock in my throat as I voiced my thoughts.
Clearing my throat I continued.
"So right now were going to be there for him. We're going to be anything or anyone he needs. Even if it means doing something we might regret later."
********
"Where is he?" a thunderous roar echoed throughout the house.
"Shit," Gale cursed under his breath as he moved from his post on the wall.
We had been silently watching Lakota as he paced like a caged wolf, in front of the door that led to the basement were our new prisoner was being held.
While Teagan had been leaning against the opposite wall, still as a statue glaring with red eyes at the door, almost like he was contemplating about melting the metal to liquid.
Alpha Avery had told both him and Teagan to stay out of the room, all the while leaving us in charge of the angry siblings, itching for their father's blood.
"He's mine."
"Father, stop," I saw Gale rush the Vampir king.
"What are you doing Gale, get off me," Elijah's dark green eyes were slowly turning a raging black.
Not good.
"Elijah," I called moving quickly to detain him.
"Alpha's orders were to leave him be for now," I told him sternly but all I received was a glare back.
"Boy... I was the one who made this alliance to kill these murdering bastards and you think that Avery's word is law to me?" he hissed, his fangs had descended now.
On close inspection they were much bigger than Gales, intimidating almost.
It took all my strength to hold back the ridiculously strong man.
I guess this was the power of a vampire king.
Gale's teeth were gritted tightly as his muscles strained to hold back his own father.
"I have every right, its justice. Now let me go."
The walls seemed to shake was his anger and I knew that I would probably have to use my powers to keep him from wreaking havoc.
But just as I was thinking of immobilizing the king I heard a heavy door slamming behind me and curse.
"Lakota," I snapped but it was too late as I looked to find both my mate and Teagan gone.
The sound of the metal bar being placed in front of the door echoed throughout the hall.
"Seriously who designed this door. Who puts a bar in the inside of a prison dungeon?" I exclaimed as I let go of Elijah and rushed to the door banging my fist on it.
"Lakota, Teagan get back here, now."
"Dammit," Gale's exclaim made me look back to see that his father had over powered him and had him by the throat, up against the wall.
He looked ready to kill him, with his fangs dripping dangerously and his eyes blazing black I knew there was no other way.
My wolf had moved before I could react at the sight of Gale being hurt.
"Don't touch him," I growled and without a second thought I opened myself up and found the kings wave length.
Attaching those invisible strings to his brain I sent a shockwave through them sending him to the ground in agony as he dropped Gale to the floor.
Finally I pulled away from him, closing my mental walls once more and rushed to Gale's side.
He was coughing, holding his neck as he gasped for air.
Placing my hand on his shoulder I lifted his chin up so I could get a better look and a rage started boiling out of nowhere.
Snapping my glare over to Elijah, I was about ready to fry his brain for good but Gale stopped me with a hand on my wrist.
Looking back he shook his head and sighed.
"Just leave it. He's right, after what Lakota's parents did to our cousin, he has every right to be angry."
"Well he has no right to hurt you because of his rage."
"When a vampire enters a state like that it's impossible to know what you're doing. We're basically out of control and barely even conscious," he explained so I let it go but I still wanted to rip his head off.
"Wow. I didn't know you care so much Cyrus," Gale teased, this made me narrow my eyes at him in warning.
"Go to hell."
"No thanks," I tightened my lips to prevent a smile.
His brown eyes were sparkling at me with amusement and I reached out pushing his face away and got to my feet.
"Well that's one problem down," I said glancing at the king, as he lay unconscious on the floor.
Gale grunted as he rose to his feet as well and walked up to my side.
"Now how do we get our little mate away from his father?"

Prince Gale Dartanyanoff
'What Lakot? What is it that you want to say to us?'
'Am I a... dog?'
Wait what is this?
'I've been waiting so patiently for you to finish here.'
A Syrin?
'Be a good boy now.'
'Pets are never supposed to growl at their masters.'
I was suddenly bombarded with images, images I could have never thought would happen to someone as sweet as Lakota.
Torture I didn't think anyone could survive, intact that is.
What they put him through.
A rage was boiling in my gut as I was forced to watch Lakota's memories.
'Make it stop please, make it stop. Why do I have to relive this again? Wasn't living through it once enough. Why did the Moon Goddess and the Wolf Spirits hate me so much?'
'Please, Please, Please, Please.'
'Make it stop.'
"Lakota," I cried out but I doubt he could hear me.
This is what he's been going through by himself this whole time?
My eyes could no longer hold the burning tears in as I faintly heard an excruciating wail echoing in my ears below me, Cyrus must be seeing this too.
I wanted to hold him so badly but I was held prisoner by Lakota's past.
It was then, as I grimaced at the continuous pounding in my head and the agony over what I just saw happening to my mate stirring a fury in me, that I burned from it.
That the painful vibration wasn't a hum.
It was... a scream.
Lakota's scream.
'I just need something from you.'
'What?'
'Payment.'
Wasn't that the Seer's voice?
'What do you want?'
Lakota.
'Something you hold very dear Lakota. Your sanity.'
"Lakota," I yanked myself out of his head which in turn almost felt like I had split my head open.
"No, come back to us now Lakota. Wake up," I exclaimed crawling from the floor.
Cyrus was struggling to his feet with me as we pushed through the pulsing waves that kept him midair.
"Move," Jim stood in front of us raising his hands in front of him, aiming towards Lakota.
Suddenly the feeling of being pushed back, stopped and both Cyrus and I took the opportunity to try and reach our mate who dropped back down on the bed.
"What is it? Did he tell you something?" Jim was trying to follow behind us but he seemed like he was struggling to even stand.
Stopping that strange phenomenon that was happening to our mate must have been really taxing on him.
"It was the Seer," I growled reaching out and grabbed Lakota off the bed, collapsing to the floor with him.
"The seer?"
"An exchange for payment," Cyrus whispered in refection.
"That's what she said before she stole his wolf. An exchange for payment."
Jim frowned in thought.
"Lakota wake up," Cyrus said caressing his hair.
"Come on baby."
"Wait, you're saying that, the Seer gave him her powers? But for what possible reason? I thought she only asked for payment."
"And he gave it," I hissed making everyone around me shrink back a little as the room grew cold.
"What?" Jim asked a little more quietly this time.
Both Cyrus and I couldn't say it.
We saw what he had to go through to get the answer.
The answer he didn't even want.
No, he suffered because it was my father who wanted the information to where Lakota's disgusting parents were.
The parents that sold him into the reality he was dealt.
If I would have known that my father's revenge would have led to putting Lakota's sanity on the line I never would have let this happen.
But then again, I was no different from the king.
I let this happen because I too was full of revenge and so prideful.
Seeking retaliation for the humiliation and loss, Lakota's parents had put our family though.
I did this, I was to blame for his suffering too.
Just then Lakota lurched up in a sitting position so fast we all jumped back in a start.
His eyes snapped open but there was no life there.
"Lakota?" Cyrus scooted in front of him, his expression was full of concern as he cupped his face gently between his hands when a distorted echoing voice surprising us all came rushing from his mouth.
"You will find what you seek one hundred and twenty kilometers to the east from this exact location. They hold pack in a rundown castle at the edge of town."
Cyrus let go as we all stared wide-eyed at this new development.
"What are you talking about Lakota?" it was Jim who asked this question slowly as he knelt down to him.
"The rogue parents of Lakota and Teagan Bateman are located one hundred and twenty kilometers to the east from this exact location. They..."
"Yes, thank you," Jim interrupted him.
"But how do you know this?"
"Payment has been fulfilled."
"And what is payment?"
"Jim don't..." I tried to warn but it was too late.
"This boy's sanity was payment in exchange I can accomplish the task I was given."
Jim narrowed his eyes.
"And who are you?"
We all waited.
"A messenger spirit of the Seers, to make sure that the job has been completed. I shall return. This boy will no longer needs me to find what he seeks. I leave the rest to him."
"Wait," I called but it was too late as Lakota's eyes brightened back to life.
A sure sign that whatever had possessed him was gone now.
"Lakota," we cried to him but all he did was blink at us, saying nothing.
Oh please, please be okay.
He held no expression though and I knew it was too late.
Slowly he stood sparing no one a glance and walked out of the messy infirmary room.
Scrambling after him all of us, even the doctor rushed after him.
He walked with an even stride but almost trance-like till he reached the front door where Teagan was standing with his mate Connor and the Alpha.
They all frowned at us as Lakota threw open the door and walked down the porch steps.
"What's going on?" Alpha Avery demanded with a confused frown.
But before we could answer Lakota stopped at the edge of the tree line.
Lifting a silent hand, he pointed inside the forest.
I ran in front of him to finally get a hold of him but what I saw almost turned my blood cold.
With the most deadly expression I'd ever seen on my gentle mate's face appeared, his lips curled against his teeth and growled out something we all didn't expect.
"My father is here."

Prince Gale Dartanyanoff
At blurring speeds I carried Lakota to the pack infirmary, Cyrus was behind me keeping up with every step I took.
Kicking the door in, I rushed into the room making the doctor jump from his seat.
The chair crashed to the floor as he took in the situation in record time and instructed us to place Lakota down on the small bed.
"What happened?" he asked.
The man looked to be in his late forties I would say.
Starting to grey at the temples a clear sign he was much older than he looked.
I watched him pull out a stethoscope and place it over Lakota's heart.
"That's a really good question," I said looking down at my unconscious mate.
Cyrus came up beside me and answer the doctor to the best of his abilities.
"He was in the middle of an argument with some stupid kids. I guess and they started fighting. Both Gale and I saw him somehow mentally push his opponents away. He threw them into the wall on the opposite side of the hallway without touching them."
"He's an Elder then?" the doctor asked, pulling his stethoscope from his ears and letting it hang around his neck.
Cyrus and I glanced at each other before shaking our heads.
"No, he's not."
The doctor frowned now.
"How are the others he was with?"
"Who cares about those little shits," I growled causing him to purse his lips in disapproval but he never stopped checking Lakota.
He lifted his lids shining a small light in his eyes.
Checked his pulse at his neck, keeping his eyes on his watch.
"I'm going to find Jim. I think he's still in the house," Cyrus told me before running out of the room.
Pulling up a chair, I sat at Lakota's bedside and held his hand tightly.
'What happened to you?' I asked silently, reaching out with my other hand and pushed his hair from his face.
Not soon after the door to the infirmary opened and Cyrus and Jim came rushing through.
"Alright, I'm here now. Tell me what's going on?" Jim came up to the bed staring down at Lakota.
"That's why we called you," I answered and Cyrus continued.
Just as we were about to tell him what just went down back there Lakota started thrashing around.
"Lakota," I shot to my feet and reached down to him.
Cyrus was there on the other side of the bed and holding him down.
"What is this?" I growled glaring at the doctor for answers.
He was just as shocked as all of us as he was writing something over at his desk before he jumped up and raced over.
But it was too late though as Lakota's eyes shot open, those beautiful golden orbs were full of such painful anguish it broke something inside me at how much suffering he was going through.
"Make it stop," he screamed.
And then the next thing I knew I was sliding down the wall with pain vibrating through me from head to toe.
It was then I found myself, with my head swimming, on the other side of the room as I struggled to get to my feet.
Glancing around I saw that everyone had suffered the same fate.
The room hadn't fared well either.
Groans sounded throughout the room from everyone as we all staggered.
"What the fuck was that?" I recognized Cyrus's growl.
Glancing around my eyes instantly found Lakota and what I saw defied all logic.
Hovering a few inches from the bed was my once again unconscious mate.
There was a pulsing wave of gravity that seemed to be emitting from his body, it was so strong you could actually see it in the air around him.
It was pushing against my body almost like it was keeping everyone away.
"How is he doing this?" I asked never blinking away from him.
"I-I don't know," this time it was Jim who answered.
"He's not an Elder he can't be able to do this... can he?" Cyrus demanded.
"No, he can't. We already know his brother, Teagan is an Elder and there can only be one Elder born from an Alpha each generation... if that. So that would make his sibling either the Alpha, Beta or just a regular wolf and we already know that Lakota doesn't have any traits to make him an Alpha."
"Okay, then how the hell is my mate levitating like that?" Cyrus growled.
"It's Gravity manipulation," this time it was the doctor that chimed in causing all of us to snap our heads towards him.
"What makes you say that?" Jim asked glancing back at Lakota with a frown.
"Because he's floating and just when we were all flung I noticed that my body felt weightless before something heavy forced me into the wall just now," he explained and we all became quiet.
"But where the hell did he get it?" I voiced my thought out loud.
Just then there was a strange sensation was tingling in the back of my head almost like a hum, glancing around I was sure everyone else felt the same because we all reached behind our head.
The vibrating humming was getting worse and worse till I was gritting my teeth.
"What now?" I hissed, the pain forcing my instincts to go on the defensive and causing my fangs to descend.
A thud caused me to snap my head over to see Cyrus collapse withering on the floor.
Concerned I ignored the pain to the best of my abilities and dragged myself every agonizing step towards Cyrus.
When I reached him, dropping to my knees I pulled him close and laid his head in my lap.
"Hang in there," I gasped.
His blue eyes looked up at me then and I could see the agony.
"It's Lakota, he's trying to tell us something," he struggled breathlessly before his face scrunched up again and he curled into himself.
My eyes traveled back over to my levitating mate to find the same painful expression etched on his face too.
'What Lakot? What is it that you want to say to us?'

Lakota Bateman
Black clouded my vision, my body felt like it was floating in space... weightless.
But it was all over and I was falling hard towards something, I didn't want to be.
It was the most excruciating pain I'd ever experienced.
Everything in me was breaking, my broken shattered bones being forced from their joints, tendons stretching and tearing.
All I could do was lay there on the cold damp floor and scream till my throat was raw.
The next thing I remember was laying there my vision slowly clearing and seeing paws.
Frowning I squinted down at the furry appendages and went to move away from them when they ended up following me.
'What?' I questioned on the verge of freaking out as I was staring down the nose of a canine snout, not a human one.
'Am I a dog?'
This wasn't possible, was it?
"Seems like someone's awake."
I snapped my head towards the voice in the room and saw Mistress sitting on my cot with a chain in her hand.
"I've been waiting so patiently for you to finish here."
Standing she walked over to me her heels clicking against the stone floor.
Finish?
What was she talking about?
"Come along," with that she walked out of the door and suddenly I was pulled off my feet and dragged across the ground.
There was a burning starting around my neck as something closed tightly at my throat.
With a whimper, I struggled against her suddenly realizing she had me leashed to that chain in her hands.
Why did it burn so much?
Choking I clawed at the chain its self but only ended up with a burn that singed my hand... paw?
So I clawed at the floor instead, trying to gain my footing again but it was no use she was walking too fast and I was just knocked down again.
I just about had it when a deep rumbling growl was forced out of my mouth shocking me still.
But I hadn't fazed the mistress in the slightest.
I was harshly yanked, the chain cutting my air, as I slammed into the wall so hard I think a heard something break. I gave a yelp of agony.
"Be a good boy now," Mistress said through gritted teeth and I knew from experience that was never a good thing.
"Looks like we need to teach you some manners," she continued to talk as I was dragged painfully across the filthy floor.
"Pets are never supposed to growl at their masters."
Then after what feels like a lifetime, we arrived at a giant silver door.
"This is your new room, unfortunately. I can't be the one to train you since I have important business to attend to but I leave you in capable hands."
She crouched down to get at my level.
She was always put together so neatly it made me sick.
She had always made me dress her before this pain in my muscles had started resulting in what I had turned into.
She had to always be dressed in what she called a pantsuit which consisted of black skin-tight dress pants or a pencil skirt, a jacket with a white blouse underneath or a waistcoat.
Her hair was always up in a neat ponytail or bun and her lips were always painted red.
I hated it... I hated dressing her.
Being forced to touch her made me violently ill.
And now she was inches from my face and I had a strong urge to lean out and bite her face off.
"Oh look at that expression, if I didn't know any better I think you wanted to hurt me mutt."
She narrowed her eyes at me and smiled.
Standing up straight she knocked of the door and glanced down at me once more.
"When I get back you better be like a well-trained lapdog because if I have to be told that you were being difficult while I was away..." she paused and glared down at me hard to the point, I physically shrank back.
"I'll make what you're about to experience, look like child's play."
The door open then and I was shoved inside.
She gave the chain to the woman, said I something couldn't understand and walked out.
The last thing I saw before the doors closed again was her smiling face but underneath her façade I knew that she had been far from joking.
What went on behind that giant silver door was something even today I could never speak aloud.
It was just a cluster of agony from what I remember but what I do recall very vividly was the voice that spoke calming words in my head.
It told me that I was going to be okay, that I was going to survive and it would protect me.
I didn't know till later that it had been my wolf who had spoke to me.
But he was gone now and there was no one to stop the pain.
Everything the lady used was silver, that I learned was what caused all the burning pain.
Knives, whips, the muzzle, chains to handcuff me to the wall for when she was down for the day.
All silver.
Cuts and stabs from knives driving through my skin.
With ever growl and snarl I was whipped repeatedly until I'm sure all the skin had been ripped from my back.
There was this giant man-shaped metal contraption with spikes on the inside where the lady would shove me in and close it.
That had to be the worst one.
I stood there unable to move in fear of impaling myself of the burning spikes that seared my back and chest all the while my feet burned continuously making it difficult to stay up.
After hours in that thing, I had become numb to everything.
I didn't know if I was in pain or not anymore.
Make it stop please, make it stop.
Why do I have to relive this again?
Wasn't living through it once enough.
Why did the Moon Goddess and the Wolf Spirits hate me so much?
'Please, Please, Please, Please.'
"Make it stop."

Lakota Bateman
"Push harder. Throw your weight into it."
Gritting my teeth I followed Cyrus's instructions and punched the sandbag as hard as I could.
"Yes," he cheered as he took the brunt of the hit.
It wasn't my first time down in the pack gym.
Cyrus had been teaching me the basics of his training since way back in Alaska.
When I would change back into my human form he thought it would be a good idea to teach me some fighting techniques since that was what he specialized in.
I remember back when he was in charge of the I-Division with Connor and Teagan he would work with me sometimes when I felt comfortable enough to shift.
"Now, I want to feel you kick this bag to hell."
I looked up at him as he spoke, his blue eyes focused on me intently and I did what he said.
Balancing myself on my left foot, bringing my fists up towards my face, I brought my other leg up and fired off rapid kicks with the top of my foot.
"There you go," he jerked with every kick.
"Whoa look at you, Lakot. You're kicking that bag's ass," Gale came up behind me as I set my foot down in surprise.
"I didn't know you knew how to fight," he said in genuine awe.
"He's been training with me every chance we got for the last couple years. I'm pretty sure he could take you down if he wanted to," Cyrus snickered.
"Oh, look the sandbag is talking. Let's get out of here," Gale exclaimed, making a show and wrapped his arm around me guiding me out of the gym.
"Hey. We were in the middle of something," Cyrus complained.
"Cyrus," someone called from across the room.
Sighing he looked over at us.
"You guys go ahead I'll catch up."
"No need, take your time. Okay?" Gale smiled as Cyrus rolled his eyes and walked over towards the guy.
Gale walked me out of the gym holding me close to him.
"So answer me this, if you knew how to fight why didn't you try when my dad captured you."
"Because even if I did fight, I probably would have gone four steps and had been captured again. Being held captive is one of my specialties. I know all the rules," I answered bitterly.
"Oh, how long have you been training with him?" Gale asked changing the subject... his face was full of guilt.
"Well over the last couple of years he would teach me something here or there, anytime I was comfortable enough to be out in my human form. But since I can't hide anymore Cyrus thinks it's best if I buckled down on it now."
"I see, well you were great. If you want I know a few things I can teach you too," he grinned leaning down and nuzzling his face in the side of my neck.
I bit my lip to keep from grinning like an idiot.
After that night when Gale revealed his past to Cyrus and me, I felt so much closer to him now.
Personally, it was the first time in my life I wanted to hold and protect someone and never let them leave my site.
Even without my wolf I still felt that intense bond between my mates.
I thought that the feeling would lessen without him but that was far from it.
"I don't think that's the same kind of training," I giggled nuzzling him back because frankly... I couldn't help myself.
"It's even better," he whispered into my ear, tracing the curve of my ear with his tongue.
I closed my eyes at the fierce sensation that ran down my whole body.
I wanted to tell him to give me more of this amazing feeling.
I didn't have a very sexual nature like most wolves do... well, I thought I didn't but lately, even without my wolf, I have been feeling some intense urges as of late.
Any time Cyrus or Gale would even brush up against me my body would ignite.
I wasn't use to feeling like I was about to burst into flames but the thought of Gale's lips on my skin just about put me over the edge.
"Hey, isn't that the guy whose mated to two guys?" I heard a voice from behind us suddenly whisper.
"Yeah, it's super gross. My parents are super disgusted, they said it's a sickening debauched show of gluttony or some shit like that."
This made me stop in my tracks and turn my head toward the group of guys in the corner.
Gale stopped with me, staring down at me almost in warning, which meant he heard too.
For some reason hearing them talking about Gale and Cyrus like this didn't sit well with me at all.
Actually, it made my blood boil, something I wasn't use to.
Before I could stop myself I had made a quick spin on my heels and walked up to them, making them all stare at me in surprise.
Apparently, they didn't think I could hear them or didn't think I would approach them even if I did which put me in even a darker mood.
"Do you have something to say to me?"
There were three of them.
All of them were taller than me which wasn't a surprise since I was pretty short for a male at around 5'6.
Growing up in a sunless dungeon with little to eat didn't give you much chance to sprout like a weed as Cyrus's pack doctor had once put it.
Being in that dreary torture chamber had severely stunted my growth.
Since I was twenty now he had said I should have been well over six feet, like my brother Teagan's height actually.
The three stepped back slightly before setting their faces like they weren't scared just a moment ago and stepped forward again.
I should have been worried about these three ganging up on me in the back of my mind but my head was clear... wait no that wasn't right.
It wasn't clear at all, something dark was festering inside me.
"Lakota?" it was Gale this time as he stepped up and laid his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off.
Not to reject him but to warn him that something was wrong with me and I didn't want to lash out at him.
"Yeah 'Lakota' why don't you run off with your boyfriend and save us all the horror of looking at such a scene. You should be ashamed," the middle guy said.
His face was full of disdain as he sneered at me.
"Ashamed?" I asked tilting my head as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Yeah," he growled stepping closer this time it was Gale who inserted his body at an angle between us glaring at the guy.
"Back off," his voice was lower than normal, chilling almost.
I would have felt happy that he was protecting me but not today, the festering fury in the pit of my stomach and chest began to grow larger and my vision was starting to tunnel.
"Ashamed for who? You?" I continued, there was barely any space between us now as he squared off.
"I don't have anything to be embarrassed about and I certainly don't care about your feelings on the matter because you don't mean shit to me."
"Lakota," Gale said again but it was like he was talking to me through a thick wall.
My focus was only on the man in front of me and my struggle to keep my violent thoughts of my hands wrapping around his neck from becoming reality.
"Go ahead and whine, all you guys want because I know that you all have the mentality of a prepubescent schoolboy who can't seem to think for himself and has mommy and daddy do it for him but I won't be sitting idly by, as you bad mouth my mates like you already seem to have done. If you believe I'd just take that then you have another thing coming."
"You little shit."
All at once I was surrounded by three incoming fists.
Gale was quick as he came up behind me and grabbed the two on the outside with both of his hands and yanked them roughly to the floor but that left one.
The guy in the middle.
I saw his face scrunch up in anger, his canines extending along with his claws.
He was coming at me fast and as my vision completely darkened with rage.
Gale wouldn't be fast enough to catch this, not that I wanted him too.
This guy was mine and everything in me was telling me that.
"Lakota," this time it wasn't Gale who called out it was Cyrus but it was too late.
My opponent's clawed hand seemed to be moving in slow motion but I didn't dwell on that... I just acted.
With reflexes I wasn't used to I reached out and threaded our fingers together and pushed his hand backward with so much force I heard a snap followed by his scream.
In his pain, he wildly swiped his other hand towards my face but I had already turned into him and had him flying over my shoulder and slamming into the ground.
I had the intense urge to get him and his friends far away from me before I did something I would regret.
Suddenly that feeling that was building in my stomach and chest finally exploded.
Reaching up and gripping my head I gave a scream of my own, releasing the pent-up bundle of tension.
"What the hell was that?" Gale exclaimed as he and Cyrus came running to me to help me on my feet, somehow I had ended up on the floor.
"We need to get him to Jim, now," I heard them talking but my head was so dizzy it was all muffled and I was on the verge of blacking out.
I couldn't seem to get my feet under me either so I was lifted quickly in someone's arms.
But before my vision blurred completely and I blacked out.
I saw the three guys laying on the ground unconscious.
But the weird thing my brain seemed to pick out of the situation was that they were on the opposite side of the hallway from where we were fighting and I swear I saw cracks in the drywall above them and all along the ground leading to where they lay.
Then every thing went dark.
