I have a question about something in Stargate relating to shipping and SG fandom history for those who were there from the start.
Rewatching season 1 now and I get the impression that the writers and actors were planning to make Sam/Daniel a thing, like that was their long-term goal. For those who were watching it in season 1 as it was airing, was Sam/Daniel the dominant ship during most of S1?
Obviously there were Sam/Jack shippers from ep 1, but was Solitudes the big trigger for Sam/Jack? The one that shifted it to the front? Or was Sam/Jack the dominant ship right from the start?

long-hair Daniel or short-hair Daniel?
“or” for who I like better
Really? You had to ask me to pick a Daniel?! Lol. This is such a tough questions. Early seasons (long-haired) Daniel is so different from later seasons (short-haired) Daniel. It’s one of those answers that’s probably based on my mood. Early Daniel was more wide-eyed, idealistic, seeing the good in everyone, whereas later Daniel was more buff and kick-ass. Short-haired Daniel lost his innocence that he had early on, before he’d seen all the horrors in the galaxy. I think I’m going to pick the middle ground for tonight and go with early-on short hair, where he still has that light and hope inside him a little bit. By this point he’s lost Sha’re and grown from that, but he’s still more archaeologist than soldier. If you’re still with me, thank you for reading my exhausted ramblings. I hope I made sense. 😂
