I LOVE THIS EPISODE. I adore astrology and as a 14 year old in the UK, it got to me via toxic, LA influencer instagram. I quickly started to (independently) study into the significance of placements (involving planets, signs and houses) and aspects. Then draconic charts, transits, progressed readings, synastries, horoscopes, everything. I love astrology bc there is so much to learn; you'll never know everything.
Whereas everytime I checked back on Instagram, they'd still only ever be talking about Sun, Moon and Rising signs and amass such a following that you'd think they were a fucking Dr Astrologer™ with PHD or some shit. Lots of aesthetic and superficial level astrology, usually copied and pasted from somebody else's aesthetic astrology page. AND THEN all of the fucking white girl memes (that they talk about in this episode) and the rich American girls who pay their LA astrologer that they found on #insta $200 on a biweekly basis to ask them what colour to paint their nails or if they should have a baby with Brad. 🧠🔫
American super-consumerism has become all the more infectious as social media have been given time to infrastructurally steep into our lives, and (as they were saying in this epi) everything that exists has just become real superficial and gimmicky. People's motivations to create "content" in 2021 is followers and money. Not actual passion for and interest in what they do. And as "users" when we have the means to afford our "interests", we like to overdose and give up our own common sense to the product or the narrative we're trying to endorse (which is apparently a new 2021 method of gaining clout??). Enjoyment doesn't often feel real anymore bc it's being colonised by rich white ppl w lack of self awareness/cognitive profundity.
Anyways, listen to this podcast, it's not half as critical as I am. Light-hearted and amazing 💙 (and resonant with ALL of the abject bs I was subconsciously reacting to as a kid raised by a cult-allied parents) !!!

ppl are gonna keep dying until we start thinking tactically about ways to optimise the current socio-economic/"political" system (which was built to support wh*te sl*ve own*rs, and only them).
1. what is the anti-narrative to be perpetuated?
2. perpetuate the anti-narrative. If we don't move as a collective, we wont move.
there is solidarity in white supremacist values (a consensus if you like).
we need to imitate that, otherwise we wont be listened to or taken seriously. the gaslighting will continue.

" Almost half of the fired police officers in Minneapolis appeal their cases, get reinstated, and receive back pay under a process called "independent arbitration." Officers should never be able to return to the force after having murdered someone. "
