Post Game Kanonzuko
Coming home to the Kurosawas was a jarring for Kazuko. When her cover was blown (by her own words no less), she came to expect death as a result. The world, though, would be much kinder to the girl than her imagination. She could have run away, and really she could have made a life for herself anyway. I think we all know her morals aren’t strong enough to keep her from a life of crime if one called. She probably could have turned back to her biological family, too. Instead she went back to the Kurosawa’s, to Kanon.
She was welcomes with open arms. Kanon didn’t question anything. She was just happy to have Kazuko back. After years of talking about running away together, Kanon had not taken well to losing her dearest person. You know how Kazuko is biased? Yeah... Kanon is a really bad person. She wasted no time in disposing of her parents and Kazuko’s mother the moment that her moral core, Kazuko, was gone. Adopting Kazuko’s younger brother into her own family, Kanon took over her mother’s company and created one of her own. She was more than confident in her ability to keep Kazuko safe.
While the girl never bothered to lie about what happened to her to her best friend/legally adopted mother (except to downplay certain people’s bad life choices), they decided it was best for the girl to live under an alias. So Helen Kurosawa was born, the half-English, half-Japanese adopted daughter of Kanon Kurosawa. It was not the best cover story, but nobody was questioning it. The makeup helped too. Kazuko never felt comfortable looking like herself. While Juzuo, Kazuko’s young-older brother, had taken over the old Kurosawa business, “Hellen” was set up as the heir to Kanon’s. However, after everything that happened, Kazuko was not content to stay at home.
Kanon spoiled her rotten. Anytime she was sad, there was a new gift, bigger and fancier than the last. First there was a few cats, then a car, and eventually a café. The café was the only one that really made her happy. Naming it Kuronyawa’s, like she’d always dreamed, she was happy with the hustle and bustle. It didn’t fix everything. She would think sadly of the separation of her class, but was more than happy to keep in touch with anyone who would contact her. She certainly kept in contact with Yuji, whom she regularly sent pictures of her new cats to.

[ Kazuko ]
Honestly, in all reality, Kazuko was much more displeased at the fact that she had been caught than placed at gunpoint, and that was really obviously. She had been angry, but not scared for the majority of the way to the War Room, but her deflation had been clear when heard the speech. Given the information Genta had given her when they started their hare brained scheme, she had a good idea it was him.
It didn’t make it hurt any less.
Her hand went to her face, feeling out where he scars had been when she was alive, the first time. Nose, lip, eye, cheek. All gone, but not for him. For her, it had been losing a part of her history when she work up without her scars or make-up. She imagined it was very different for him. He looked like he’d seen hell.
“…”
There were options. They could stay here and stay safe. But something about that kid’s voice worried her. It had just cut off. Even more, she had looked that child’s mother, Morishige, in the eyes and she didn’t think she saw a single scrap of motherly affection. She didn’t trust this plan, but she did trust the information. It was the same information she had before, anyway.
Despite Kyousuke’s word, Kazuko made her way to the exit of the room as soon as the telltale sound of unlocking triggered.
“You’re welcome to do that. I’m sure if you stay she won’t be upset with you. She seems to want as many of us to stay alive as possible, and I think she’d value obedience. A well trained dog stays in an open pen.” That was not supposed to be an insult, but… “But I… I don’t trust the way things ended. Cutting off like that is not good. So, if that kid can’t do this on his own, I figure I should do my best to help. I am the only one who has any engineering experience here, if I remember correctly. Even if I am a piss poor engineer, I’m pretty good at shutting things down.”
She placed a hand on the door, hesitating for only a moment. She would feel pretty bad if she got them all executed by leaving.
“And if I get shot, I get shot. No problem. I’ve been shot before. I guess I can say I’ve died before too. I’m not really afraid of that. You should probably stay here, though, if you’re unsure. Or maybe run away. But, I’ve got places to be. At the very least, I can be distracting for a moment, if the current distraction runs dry.”
The same as always, she seemed a little nervous and unsure of her words, but she wasn’t scared in the slightest. There was nothing to fear in death for her now. To die was to lose what you had, she’d alright lost it, so why not gamble a little?

For Ryan Roe to be here without a false talent must mean something important, Kazuko had decided. Their talents both involved deception. In many areas they overlapped. As such, she was immediately fascinated with them. If this wasn’t a killing game, Kazuko would have spent more time than she should trying to investigate them. Their facade was strong, but she was confident in her’s as well. Maybe Roe would be the one who finally caught her in the act. It seems like a worthwhile endeavor.
But, this killing game didn’t get them off on a good foot. Roe’s aloof nature caused her to think they were cruel hearted. After the first trial, she shunned them and told them flat out they could die for all she cares. She later took that back when Roe apologized and admitted they were trying to be less cruel. She became aware then that Roe probably was trying to be better, it was just their nature not to care. Or at least not to show it.
In the end, Kazuko thinks of Roe somewhat positively, which is strange enough. Despite advising people that they might be the Mastermind, not once but twice, she didn’t really suspect them. They’d act less aloof if they were trying to fool anyone. She just can’t feel any spite. Part of her will always think that their behaviour is the result of their talent. She sees them as a cautionary tale of what people can become when they have a deception based talent and become too unfettered. She does hope for the best of them.
And, yes, much like a lot of the class, Kazuko also finds Ryan Roe uncomfortably attractive.
Final Score:  Chaotic but not Evil

Initially, she did not like Tadashi because she thought he died with Ryan during trial. But after the trial she realized he was an oddly neutral person. She suspected him of being some kind of robot or spy for a while because he was just too plain to her.
She actually like him a lot better when he got more done with stuff. She was done too. They were both done and she respected him for that. Despite how harsh he could be, Kazuko never disliked him. She liked him as a co-worker, and never minded conversing without him. She tended to trust his opinion in court over everyone other than Ebullmiko, including Haruna’s because she was sure he was never swayed by emotion. As such, he’s on the positive side of neutral.
Post death, he became her number one Mastermind suspect and she decided as her top three were all people she was friends with or chill with, she didn’t want him to get flat out executed. Now if it was someone else, she wouldn’t care, but Tadashi was just fond enough in her view to earn, let’s just not kill him points.
Final Score: Well done

Alright, so, I’ll be clear. Kazuko thought he was really cute and hit on his once, but he seems so timid that she never did it again.
Kazuko worried about this guy the whole time. It was probably because he reminded her a bit of Kanon (being rich and the gun family thing). After the first trial, she didn’t really feel up to talking to him. I don’t fully remember but I’m pretty sure she was against accusing him for no reason aside for the coat. Anyway, Kazuko did worry about him.
So, then came the murder. During the murder, Kazuko spent any time after the big fight basically in the state from Left 4 Dead where the world goes grey, except a lot more sluggish. She was already super sleep deprived the whole time and only her training kept her on her feet for the rest of the day. She literally didn’t know she’d hit him before she did. It was all done on instinct. The moment he went down, her mind cleared up a little and OH SHIT, she just hurt the piano man!
She considered killing him. In her daze, she didn’t know if she yelled or if he saw her. It would be a sympathy, right? He didn’t deserve to bleed to death unlike the monster. He didn’t deserve this pain. He wouldn’t die for real, so... She was too pitiful for it though. He did nothing wrong and she didn’t expect to get away clean. Instead, she dragged him to the next room and left him there. She did make an effort to check up on his wound, but it made her too sick to realize she’d done something she couldn’t reverse.
Kazuko realizes she doesn’t deserve any forgiveness from him, but she still wishes him the best. He shot up in respect when he didn’t try to take revenge on her. It was such a sleepy trial anyway.
Final Score: Sing us a song, you’re the piano man

The Captain. That phrase sums up mot of her feelings toward the guy. He was really cool at first, someone she thought she could match wits with. But it was like a blade trying to knife fight a brick wall. It did not work out well. Of course, she has bucket loads of respect for him, but has come to the conclusion he has the emotional depth of a puddle.
Yet, still, it worked. he wasn’t a friend, but he was an ally. He was someone she respected, like an honored co-worker. Yet, she wanted for some reason to deceive him more than others. Maybe it was because she respected him, but she wanted to make him think of her as someone clever and witty, even when she’s really awkward.
Still, he cares about what he cares about, and she cares about a great many things that overlap, and that’s what matter. She doubt he thinks of her as anything but an idiot, but she does wish him well and is glad he was alright when she met him in the world of the dead.
Final Score: A respectable brick wall.

Honestly, Kazuko feels pretty bad for reflexively shunning Tomoka after she said one bad thing.
It was the biggest example of how biased Kazuko really is. She’s such a bad girl. Anyway, she originally thought Tomoka was really cool They talked about cats and Kazuko thought they could get along. However, after the trial, she super villianized the girl in her head.
It never occurred to her that Tomoka was anything but cocky and cruel. It was only after she died that the girl considered that Tomoka might have been a pretty good person. However, she was pretty shit to her in life, and so in pseudo death, Kazuko proceeded to avoid the other girl in hopes of avoiding a scolding.
Final Score: Don’t judge a book by the cover

Kazuko liked Jamie’s books from long before she came here. She wasn’t a huge fan, but she liked them well enough. They were one of Kanon’s many passing fancies that Kazuko ended up much more invested in than the girl she admired. Still, she really enjoyed the writing style.
Meeting Jamie was a little embarrassing, as she came off as a really incompetent pet owner and a really big idiot. Their later interactions lightened her opinion of him. She didn’t expect him to enjoy trashy romance novels quite the way she did. Still, her biggest draw to him was that she thought he was stupidly handsome and decided she needed to figure out some flaw of him to forget about that.
Even though she didn’t talk much, she thought of him positively.
Final Score: Oh no, he’s hot

Haruna is probably the biggest contradictions in Kazuko’s life.
In truth, she has little reason to like her tiny, angry friend, but she does. She adores Haruna, but fears her. Or rather she fears what Haruna could become. she sees a lot of Haruna in herself and her not good relationship with True Kanon. She worries a lot about her tiny friend and wants to help her get better, but fears they’ll fall into the same pit holes she did with Kanon.
The thing is that Kazuko isn’t blind to Haruna’s really bad traits. She sees how angry and self absorbed her friend can be. It makes her uncomfortable, it makes her angry, but at the same time, it doesn’t drive her away. Legit honest, she wants to hug the anger away. I mean this serious, she’s super cuddly with Haruna because she’s trying to pacify her.
As much as she sees her bad side, Kazuko feels inadequate beside her. he decided early on, when/if they get out, she’ll hand Haruna’s friendship off to Kanon, who can match her in intelligence and ego personality. Kazuko doesn’t think Haruna really likes her, just the image she projects. Haruna was, however, the first person to know about her. Not her name, but that she wasn’t who she said she was. She never said names. Names make it real. It was there she decided if Haruna rejected her, she’d throw away what was left of Kazuko and become “Kanon” exclusively. But she wasn’t rejected. Still, it wasn’t enough. No words were enough. Nothing was enough to make her believe. Haruna was big and smart and passionate, her own person. She didn’t see a ruse, but an enhancement of the true girl. Kazuko was never there in the first place.
In the end, she couldn’t stop wanting to take care of this girl, but she knew she had to let go. Her greatest wish for Haruna is to be strong and walk on her two legs, even if it’s a lonely path. She wants Haruna to be better than she ever was.
Final Score: Hug until she’s a better person

To Kanon, Andrew would be a tiny mouse she’d ignore only because he’s too small to be worth the chase. Kazuko never hated him though. He was the prickly hedgehog she taught how to wash blood out of his clothes. If you wash blood out with someone, you’re bonded for life.
She feels bad she ignored him so often. He desires was the support him, but she was always draw to strong personalities and forgot about him. She does feel truly terrible about his death She assumes, of course, that he hates her, but she doesn’t hold it against him. She deserves his hate. Still, she sees him as someone who needs a little support to reach his best, and he’s been sorely lacking it.
She feels even more guilty since he’s the same age and height as her half-brother, Juruo, and she projects what he brother could have been on him a lot.
Final Score: Needed more hugs, gone too soon

Yuka can not be separated from her family in Kazuko’s mind. She can not forget it and that doesn’t settle the best with the duplicate. Kazuko might pretend to be cool with them because Kanon is but she’s still quite uncomfortable with them. As a result, this played a role in her final impression of the other girl.
She respects Yuka, thinks she cool, yet unapproachable, veiled in something Kazuko can’t cross. She wishes she could, and the double does see potential in the other girl, but at the end of the day, Yuka lives in another world. Still, she is admirable, wicked smart, and not someone Kazuko want to be on the bad side of.
Final Opinion: The yakuza princess is beyond me

Genta is rad. A buzzkill at time because he cares about people’s feelings, but rad. To be totally honest, she’s still super embarrassed she made such a bad impression on him in the world of the living. Admittedly, it could have been a while lot worse, but she wanted him to think she was cool. He seemed like one of those chill people like Ebullmiko. Honestly, seeing how highly h was regarded by others, she took on that aspect herself and started to look up to him. Had they interact more, he might notice she’d start picking up his body language because the girl is a human sponge.
Eventually, once she died, she got to know him better. She has a lot of faith in him. Largely because of the Captain's testimony toward him, but always because of his own decision to protect Yuka. As such, she trusts him to go along with any truly hairbrained scheme.
Final Score: A true gentleman

Ailani is kind of the worst. In Kazuko’s opinion, she’s kind of like that awful cousin that everyone in the family hates, but still feels bad for when they loose their job and have a shitty Christmas. She didn’t want bad things to happen to Ailani, but she insulted one of her friends, which is unforgivable.
Initially, she thought the other was really cool and would have loved to speak with her. Originally, she wanted to see if she could pick up some sign language from her, something that she was sure would become useful later. However, since they didn’t really interact she didn’t form a solid opinion until after the merge.
Final Score: Cool girl’s annoying girlfriend we tolerate
