This might suck to hear, but if you're a people pleaser that is motivated by praise and avoids disagreements, you are easy to manipulate.

When I was in therapy after surviving years of domestic violence, my therapist had to tell me that my personality was primed for abuse and we needed to work on that so I would be better equipped to see the red flags and respond appropriately in the future.

I'm still working on this, and it's been 8 years. If you tell someone how you want to be treated, what behaviors you don't tolerate in your life, what you're looking for in that relationship, and they react negatively, don't compromise yourself. Just move on.

A Snohomish man, 56, was commuting in his 2022 Tesla Model S when he activated the car’s camera-based advanced driver assist system and according to his statements to police, began looking through his phone. With nobody paying attention to the car’s actions, the Tesla software ignored Jeffrey Nissen on his motorcycle and continued on at speed. The car rear-ended the two-wheeler, Nissen was flung from the bike, and his life ended pinned underneath the electric car, where he was still lodged when police arrived to the scene.

Reminder that even if you are personally aware of how dangerous Tesla vehicles are and vow to never ride in one, they can still kill you.

My own driving habits have changed around them. I always give Teslas extra space, avoid following them directly, and expect them to stop or swerve suddenly without notice.

Cannot count the times I've pulled up next to a Tesla at freeway speed, noticed the driver playing on their phone. Tap the horn. They look up with surprise.

I'm (finally) moving

My life for the past six months has been a series of cascading disasters, culminating in the need to find a new home seeing as how the house I've lived in for the last twenty years is almost uninhabitable, both literally and figuratively.

back in February, my close friend Jack moved across the country to stay with me in order to escape a dangerous family situation. since that move, he and I have been threatened with eviction by my landlord repeatedly. he and I have decided to rent a house with our mutual friend @caputvulpinum in northeast texas.

with a new home, I'll be teaching the both of them blacksmithing, and I'll be able to focus more on my art without worrying about my home or my family collapsing around me.
